Well merch is not something I can really fault them for. How wide is the audience? 100k? The last thing you want to do is buy a bunch of merch to sell only to not have it move. I think a more pragmatic option is to just allow the fish themselves to roll merch and just take a cut of it. Danye seems to have hired a graphic artist for some Beaver Street stuff and Cawww gang shirts, I guess Trish could probably do something equally so for the Voodoo Mama Juju character she played, Tay could crochet some fishtank logos. But I don't really see much opportunity for merch out of this show. Most of the "Merch" and fan art is really only meaningful to the person its depicting as maybe a poster behind them while they stream.

Also the merch was like 60 bucks. I don’t care how nice the shirt is, no one will get the reference you would kind of look weird in public. It’s alt tec not YouTube, you don’t get as many viewers that’s why YouTubers get away with it. (Which I still think is stupid)

Part of justifying the payment is access to footage since the show itself is free. That said, I think a lot of customers would pay regardless with zero expectation of any static media but so far they seem to want to offer something back that people can have forever.
I'd be ok with no edit and full archives.
