I understand why some people might be upset, but this is the formation of a new narrative. This has been being built up since yesterday when Sam got everyone to gang up on Cole. This planted seeds of hatred between the fish and Cole. Sam giving Cole an xbox and treating him as an obvious favorite is the entire point. It creates a Cole vs the house narrative and causes friction that is needed.

You can call it coddling, but it is so obviously coddling that it plays into a bigger arc that production, or at least Sam, is clearly trying to create. Class warfare. Rich kid Cole vs the rest of the house.

Even if this was done as a way to keep Cole on you have to admit it was a smart play. They've basically taken "coddling" and made it an obvious part of this new arc instead of trying to subtly pull it off. Cole is the "rich kid" and Sam wants everyone in the house to know that and hate him for it.

I truly hope this lights a fire under the other fish's asses and gets them to make moves against Cole more as a team. I would like that very much.

Is it me or even this place becoming overran with genuine parasocial stupidity this season, if anything on the level of the retardation of today occured half a year ago you'd have people here openly asking what the fuck is going on instead of becoming just as retardedly symapthetic as the season pass paypigs on the site itself. Like yeah I get people want factions, but this is just a cartoonish distortion of the already cartoonish autism that was Jontent. Hell, when you stop and think about it the Halo thing is just another callback to that book from S1, everything about this feels like WWE level damage control.

This is likely due to a selection bias from the fan bottleneck from S1 to S2.

Risking puzzle pieces here but a good geeky e.g. of this is Gintama's latter seasons appearing four (!) times in the MyAnimeList top ten. Lukewarm fans get filtered by the first season (majority filler) and the remainder goes rabid for the latter seasons' plot arcs.

Eh, maybe. I don't know. It's a variation of "the whole house vs. Letty" dynamic from last time and that had really run its course by the end.

I think I prefer it when there are more random little interpersonal things going on. "Why the fuck is Simmons massaging Jon's feet," that kind of thing.

I believe Season 2 will die without him since he's been the kino catalyst. At first it was Summer's manic/depressive episodes but she left. There's also Jimmy but his kino is on accident usually by interjecting while Brian is coping and sneeding about something retarded. Shinji has his kino moments but that's only when everybody else is asleep and he decides to do a late night smoke sesh. The women that are left suck ass.

After sparring with Jimmy, Cole went up to B2 and found all of his clothes cut up. He started ranting and mentioning Nina from S1. Sam went in and told him to stop before letting himself out.

Also TJ put up a good fight, locks up when Brian was getting really aggressive but he threw solid straight shots and kept his guard up. Just needs to cut is damn hair and not freeze when he's getting pressed. All that stimming must boost his cardio.

There's an "it's so over" vibe right now, but we all felt that way for half of season one and several times already this season, and both have bounced back every time. "We're so fucking back" is coming soon. Maybe I'm too positive because I don't watch much TV so my standards are low, but even with Cole gone, I trust things will get good again. Not sure if this makes sense, but for me, constantly thinking the show is ruined and falling apart makes it even more entertaining when things are going right.
