Jet seems very focused on pandering to the paypigs and "inner circle" type who formed gay groups on twitter and reddit for season 2.
This is also going to make content shitter by doing that.

For some reason Jon waited until late September to really start pushing.
as far as i'm aware, jon after the show was constantly shilling his dropshipping site with e-bikes. for a while, he was just chilling on twitter. he's made attempts to be a content creator but now he's going full force (lol)
Finished her album, did her tour, has merch. Not being antagonized by her chat anymore. She has no future on YouTube but her music was her goal and she did it.
i don't like sylvia but atleast she's more accomplished than half the people on the list

This is also going to make content shitter by doing that.
not like jet is known for his high IQ intelligence

Jet has a message for the contestants of Season 1:

Jet's more delusional than I previously thought

The idea that being on a niche internet streaming show would launch a full on career is just not realistic. Even Josie who was the fan favorite is only getting a few hundred viewers per stream which is good and by far the most out of any fish but not really enough to make a living off of imo.

2 New whale items have been added for Season 2

1) "Finge": $10,000 to get a once-in-a-lifetime, intimate dinner with one of the contestants of the paypig's choice. You read that right, finally one of Sam Hyde's fans can go on a date with who is probably a cluster b girl (to put it lightly). That being said, I am unsure of the conditions of this item. Is it during the show? In the house? Does the victim fish have to consent before getting on the show? Will this be streamed (PLEASE I WANNA SEE THIS GO DOWN)?
finge.png

2) "FishBnB": $25,000 for a whole 24 hours of being on the show, getting the real fish experience (not just a freeloader). I have a feeling Jet and Sam will add some activities to fuck with the poor sucker who buys this. It'll be interesting if any rich guy buys.

Good interview. The house was owned by a family who were friends with the cowboy guy and thought it was a funny idea. They agreed to let them use their home and moved all of their stuff out. They moved back in after production wrapped. Jet said it was a family with a young baby.

He said the SWAT team were actually heading to the neighbors house instead by mistake and he had to run over and explain really quick. The officer he talked to knew what SWATing was, which helped diffuse the situation. Eventually Jet hired some police officers to patrol the area and some of them became fans of the show.

Jet said the period of time when the show was streaming exclusively on YouTube was the lowest point for the crews morale but ended up being his favorite era because that's when he stepped into the role as a director. That's when the crew started writing and rehearsing scenarios in advance, coordinating when they would change cameras to keep the audience engaged.

When asked if Damiel was a plant Jet looks directly into the camera with a Sam Hyde smirk and says "I have no idea what you're talking about" basically confirming Dam was a plant. He says they only ever met him one time before the show, which is when he took the photo with Sam.

Towards the end of the interview Jet says one of the big goals for s2 is to make it more accessible to people who have full time jobs and can't tune in all the time. Sounds like they're going to keep a tighter schedule like Big Brother where most of the major action happens during their televised time slot.

lol @Noble Redditor got in before i did. I wandered off cuz most of my notes were redundant but I wanted to throw in other notes.
abridging Emplemon's fellating and rehashing the plot
  • During the first few days Jet was deliberately using open body language and a tone of voice "like a bellboy" to acclimate the fish to the tank so people would open up and get comfortable. Then the address started getting posted in chat and Jet knew there would be 30 minutes before the police arrived, so he went to wait on the porch for it. He was worried it would ruin the acclimation period but was pleased that the contestants were unphased by it.
    • By the end he would see cops outside and one of them shouted out "That Frank guy is funny. What's a Josie cell?" so he knew they were watching at the station.
    • Before they hired security they would walk the perimeter every 15 minutes on a timer and check the treeline and the front yard.
  • When the stream was on YouTube
    • Ben was really down during this part. "these conditions suck and I don't even know what we're doing."
    • The curated master shot will return in Season 2.
  • Kicking off Simmons during the baby challenge was a coincidence
  • Freeloaders were always planned, knew that removing contestants would make the show increasingly boring
  • The results of the PSAT were real, and they were close
  • There is a playground visible from the house
  • Emplemon on his appearance "I said like, this is the makings of history right here and if I go on I have the chance to be part of something historic" which is the cringiest thing to hear coming from possibly the worst most forced bit in the whole show
  • Emplemon described himself as being on the show "on the last day that any YouTuber was allowed." Says Sam wanted to start the endgame after that point and didn't want Emplemon on doing interviews with the contestants like Emplemon wanted to do.
    • Emplemon calls Vance "Lance" which is just... Jet saves him by saying "Vance" a moment later and he corrects himself
    • He heard Letty called his Earnhardt outfit corny that night.
  • Jet says they couldn't have final challenges like "MLP lore, vape smoking, who is taller" because that would be unfair so challenges were divided into "mind" and "body," Jet says it was 50-50 by the end (that's just kinda bullcrap) and that it was decided by the mud wrestling (that's stupid and contradicts what he started that thought with)
  • Sam said the final prank was one of the hardest acting things he's done because he had to hide that he loved the project and the contestants and be hateable and had to shit on the heart surgery guy
Here's footage from the Mondo rave... Chris having a lightsaber battle with his friend

Finale should have been based on enduring the most hell house like torture. It's clear the crew really didn't plan on one single challenge as to determine the winner, as the final days of FT were a bunch of nothing challenges all added together. The fact that the mud wrestling challenge was the determining factor as to who won the entire show is kind of a shame, as a large portion of the contests throughout the show weren't based on physicality, they were based on surviving the longest in a hard situation.

Walking around all day without stopping, staying in a room with your bathroom privileges revoked until you're the last one standing, having to sit and listen to fatty ramble all day, being given a disability you had to work around for 24 hours. Those are the types of things that determined winners and losers throughout Fishtank, and they were by far the most popular and most enjoyed challenges. It was usually about who could endure the most.

It's clear Jet is bullshitting a little bit. Josie won because it was the most financially secure thing to do. Keep the simps coming back for more next season. Josie was the winner after Vance was kicked off the show, they just needed an excuse to give her the win.

Not saying that a physical challenge is dumb, it could actually change things up a bit as like a little bonus challenge for fishbucks or determining first pick in a team game, but as something to decide the winner of the show? Not a great decision. Hell, the walking challenge was an entirely physical challenge, but it was heavily adjusted to suit each contestants strength. Letty could endure a lot of mental anguish so she was tied to Chris. Vance was a dude who was clearly stronger than both girls, so he had a weight taped to his leg. Josie... I guess you could argue she consistently had to deal with the threat of Vance pushing her over?

Also lmao at the three examples Jet gives as final challenges. I expected nothing less coming from the great minds in the basement.

if I didn't make it clear he was saying those as examples of challenges Josie would instantly win, not challenges he would actually do.
Like they did have a few obvious ones that were gimmies, like Letty and the singing challenge, but they weren't gonna have a "who can go the most wall-eyed" challenge or "who can fold her arm around the wrong way" challenge or "speak french" challenge.

It killed me when Jet was trying to talk Josie out of even considering a dog grooming job in favor of only video game streaming and... I forget what he suggested to Letty. Podcasting? Instead of more grounded career/schooling as a foundation while doing the fun/creative stuff on the side to see if it could work out as a realistic source of income.

And I know that is because the whole production crew has no serious work experience or ambition beyond being efamous, and anyone should be able to see that and understand taking life advice sincerely from wiggers is bad news, but it still hurt. Like the kids that say Youtuber when asked what they want to be when they grow up, but it's men in their 20s and 30s.

For a guy who said he just wants to see the Fish succeed, Jet was more likely to set them up for burn out/depression down the road (or in Letty and Sylvia's case, near immediately).

Whether or not this will be good for the content, it seems like a good business decision, what with the 90-9-1 rule and all that. The retarded clan war features being integrated into the site rather than tucked away on gayops discord servers will definitely increase the engagement (and paypigging) from every mongoloid that used a "-cel" or "-gang" hashtag.

e: The Wefunder site (Archive) claims 600k unique visitors and 70k paying customers, which lines up pretty closely with my above D-K analysis.

Vance
I think goal #1 for Vance was to put his album out right after the show, and he said he was expecting to win enough from the show to get him a way of recording his drums or else put him in touch with someone who loan him a place to record, and that hasn't happened. He said he would switch to releasing it all with synthesized drums instead but hasn't done that either. Considering music is what he *does* besides deliver weed or whatever, that's a pretty big L.

An almost instant correction, I wonder if Vance may have seen Jet's IG post and felt a need to comment.

He's dropping his album at some point while Fishtank season 1 is airing (no word on if it's synths or not but at least it's coming out) also he has been filming a music video with "some very talented people," also he has been acting and writing in "a tv show" with those people. He sounds very much like he either didn't want to talk about it yet or is maybe just an overly humble person that doesn't like announcing things.
The idea that being on a niche internet streaming show would launch a full on career is just not realistic.
It's a leg-up for those who have both a good direction, and willpower. Vance is literally starting a career now, it seems.

On the flipside regarding willpower, they talked about Letty's Daddy Dom sketch on PGL and apparently it was really good. The double blow of World Peace 2 and Fishtank should prove her able to do something similar to what Vance is doing but she's, as far as anyone can tell, just hanging out smoking weed.

And on the flipside regarding direction, Sylvia dropped her album and did her tour, so she has the willpower and followed through, but she made like $3 from Spotify off of it. So no matter how hard she works on this it's just not gonna make her money.
