  • 2 Stars — Pretty bad. Some funny moments, dragged, too many vibe repair days. Barely worth checking.

It looked to be a kind of management game, probably from the producer perspective. It could certainly work, but its a more demanding genre design-wise imo. I expect it to be terrible.
Of course it's going to be terrible, it's a game made to promote a product based on a product. Even in the hands of the best gaming studio on Earth, it'd be shit because there's no soul behind it.

Thanks for the offer Sam, but I'm a firm believer in honest pay for honest work and that no one ever gives out money for nothing.

Personally, all the stock/crypto/whatever juggling for profit as a concept always felt like a lucrative pyramid scheme where the only one who profits at the end of the day is the person/group who started it.

I would expect a sims-like game to be kind of boring. They could make a horror game with the fishtank house as the setting and you have to avoid the Entity. It was a complete nothing-burger in the actual show so this could give it some purpose.

Maybe I'm just a potato, but I don't understand the "investment"...

- If you put up $2200 do you actually own common stock in the Delaware company Fishnet Inc?

- Why was the company only incorporated a month ago?

- Who are the biggest stockholders? Is IP assigned to other entities besides Fishnet Inc?

- Are there preferred shares outstanding? Who holds them?

- Has the company issued warrants?

- Who is on the board? How does voting work?

- What are the companies financials? Does it have debt? Who are the bondholders (if any) and what securities do they hold?

Anyway they are asking for a valuation of 3.46x to 30x "revenue" (depending on how you figure) which seems high.

I like Sam Hyde and Fish Tank, but I agree with the guy above that said don't invest in a company that doesn't pay dividends.

This seems more like a crowdfunding thing where you "invest" to support the creators. Idk.

agree w everyone that this is basically a crowdfunding campaign dressed up in the cryptobro investment stuff jet seems to find particularly funny, with the added benefit of potential profit sharing way down the road

There's not even any Letty NFTs. (she was heavily featured in the commercial, maybe she'll come back as DLC)

No offense but you're a fucking retard if you invest in whatever that's supposed to be
Are you trying to tell me the paypigs that buy this shirt:

Or this one:

For the low low price of 50 dollars each are... Stupid?
Nah they're savvy investors! They're firing up a 25 dollar stream donation question so Sam can ignore it and call them dumb right now.

Sam knows his paypiggies very well, they won't question the rugpull, and they'll deny it was a waste of money.

I will not be buying nebulous "stock" or NFTs but I could be convinced to part with some shekels for a piece of low key merch to support my boy and help stick it to the faggots at adult swim. haven't been watching sam for long but I'm looking forward to fishtank 2

Surpised no one else has mentioned this yet. A dude named Bill Ottman is responding to questions on the funding page.

He's the dude that founded https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minds_(social_network)
and has been on rogan recently.
Guessing he got ahold of Sam, saw fishtank as an opportunity, will be running or atleast giving a guiding hand to the company to try to make it a big thing?
Not sure why they wouldn't be more open about it in the video. Jet is a pillhead loser wouldn't trust him with $50 if they got atleast a semi-serious (possible crypto scam bro idk) it would make it a better sell.

You know, I was already Bullish on the MDE Crew as a result of this fundraising campaign ($225k in 5 hours) and the upcoming release of WP2. But now I see the true potential they have.

So if I invest $100:
Pessimistic estimate of ROI = $0
Realistic estimate = $0
Optimistic estimate = unknown, but let’s say $1000 (10x)

Lets say you’re a big MDE fan and want to give them the benefit of the doubt, so we’ll quadruple the weight of the optimistic estimate.
Estimated ROI = (4 * 1000 + 0 + 0)/6
4000/6 = 666.666

It’s clear from my calculations that Sam Hyde is the antichrist and Jet is his highest ranking demon minion. Invest at your own peril

Really, here's my opinion on what will happen:

The ideas he has are really good, especially if he made 1.2m off season. He's basically turning it into a video game with daily quests, along with getting viewers more engaged. Allowing people to choose their camera is a good idea if multiple things are going on at once (very niche).
I think what'll happen is Sam will do another few seasons, get bored of it, then sell it. A couple hundred million dollar company won't pass up the chance to make millions a season. The idea is what will sell. The project would likely fail if Sam dipped out.
