  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

They are clearly winging this and told Josie to play flash games that she's never played. Kinda rough.

They abandoned flash games and have resorted to Josie's personal list of stream ideas which is more chill and fun.

Sam told her to do a poll to see if people want to see her do muay thai, then jokingly said to make the other option "clopping" as they were joking about clopping earlier.

E: I'll do a followup post covering highlights for the 2 other Kiwi Josiecels. The stream improved significantly once Josie was given the reins.

I've seen him in Vance's Twitter replies, he's probably following all the prominent fish but a diehard and 100% is an insane Josiecel at the end of the day.
Hating on Damiel is fair though, Damiel is a terminal loser and nothing but trouble for someone like Josie.

Here he is on Letty's most recent tweet. He's not wrong, Letty has nothing up on her Youtube channel so can't monetize for awhile, Sam insinuated she should get something up there Wednesday but she said she was too busy shopping.

Just did a basic check of his twitter. He's a massive fucking faggot. Twitter banner is literally anime cat girls in maid outfits charging on a battlefield. He seems to be obsessed with Josie to the point of concern. For example, according to a tweet he made (and that you pointed out), he sent a drunken TTS about getting a tattoo of the next thing she drew. Of course, he followed through with it lol. He also claims that he's trying to get Josie to notice the tattoo, presumably by DMing her, in the replies. Although it is not visible in the picture provided. You can see it in the archive.

His favorite fish is obviously Josie, but he seems to have supported Vance, Betty, Sylvia, Chris, and freeloader Jon. He retweeted a creepy video of Betty on the show with a bunch of panty shots and her in suggestive positions. Also posts about Josie 24/7. One of my favorites is Josie reaching around the Jenga tower to pull a block. Of course, being the gentleman that he is, he had to comment about the positioning. Also, he takes what Betty says as fact, ironically saying that Letty's fans are the most deranged while taking anything barcode says at face value. Some context for the below tweets, Barcode is talking about deranged Letty fans in a twitter space. He gladly joins in. Of course he defends the pornographic photographer that she criticizes though.

I didn't watch more than maybe 5 minutes of footage of Fishtank, but why the fuck did they have Alex Stein on there? He's such a cringe ultrafaggot that it honestly lowers my opinion of Sam knowing that he associates with him.
 
Honestly, now that the show is over I'm kind've disappointed. the planned content was pretty decent, but I was really expecting a hoping for a certain level of torture from the audience. I wanted to see the fishtoys used to make the show interesting. I wanted to see everyone sleep on the floor while the heater was amped to 90 degrees. None of that ever really happened. The fishbucks were just used for simping, and the big investments seemed to go to plushies for Josie. Fuck, with the plushies I was hoping that it would build a level of resentment that would create some excitement. It really seems like all of the entertainment came from planned guests (and I guess Jon at the beginning). The main contestants didn't create much content of their own throughout the show.

I was watching back some random clips from moments and days I missed and happened on Nick Kaminos lecturing Vance on I think day 13? I already realized a while back that deep in the jumble of buzzwords and metaphors, Kaminos' lectures are intended to serve as a very serious lecture from the producers that the fish are expected to not understand. In the mangle of him talking about how much the show costs his dad and yada yada, he lays something out pretty sternly, but as Vance put it in his stream yesterday, he thought the whole conversation was "a hilarious bit" and had nothing else to say about it.

I can only paraphrase it because it was Kaminos, but it basically went: you guys are treating this show like a vacation and you don't do anything unless we give you a challenge, your schizo bit is interesting but it's essentially the same as your Vancepills because you're not involving the other fish in the bit which means you may as well be doing it at home, you're all gonna fuck up the show if you let everyday pass waiting for challenges to be interesting.

I think the producers really expected the fish to feel inherently incentivized to hog the spotlight and entertain all the time in order to build their brands, but that never took for whatever reason, maybe because the show is 24 hours so it's easy to procrastinate or feel exhausted or bored, or because the double elimination early on put them all into survival mode. In season 2 I would probably introduce a gentle encouragement system, like audience tipping the fish with fish coins they could spend in a commissary, to remind all the fish that they can be rewarded by paypigs for being fun to watch, not just Josie.

There would have been some alternative version of season 1 where Vance performed his old sketches for the other fish, or Sylvia sang Emotional Labor or whatever other songs she has on her own initiative, or Damiel and Letty rap at each other in a room without being asked to, or Mauro idk... did a cocksucking tutorial, or Nega Simmons reads aloud from some draft of a wholesome book he is preparing during the show. Jon and Josie seemed like the only ones who pushed their stuff a lot but Josie didn't do it in a way that I think the producers wanted her to.

Day 41 around 10pm, Sam mentions his "literally me" character of the fish is Letty. Maybe he shouldn't include that in the final cut.

IIRC a lot of people in the thread were theorizing he was so fixated on her because she's the female Sam. I think he sees himself in her a lot.

I honestly can't tell if he's into her sexually but he's definitely sweet on her in some type of way.
