I think he was looking for a way out already. He didn’t want to be there and the Simmons situation gave him a way to leave without looking bad. He said he isn’t comfortable in the house now, but the source of that discomfort is gone. Him sharing a room with the suspected pedo doesn’t really matter much either considering he’s a fat adult man.
