With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Because at its heart the idea of Twitch viewers using bits tokens to torture millennial & genZ eccentrics in a house until only one remains sounds entertaining. You would guarantee participation & viewership. But producers also realize what Sam didn't & recognize that people on the internet are too sadistic for both television & any mainstream stream platform. Sam already had to hoot like an ape at his viewers because he knew anonymous TTS directly translates to nigger-word spam. It's a textbook Catch-22. The concept relies on an escalation of reality television insanity yet it can't do that because legal waivers & stream site policies would start shutting things down the moment it gets too intense.
tl;dr - it's a successful idea but it literally can't succeed. People crave an unfiltered stream because of repressive internet rules but repressive internet rules will kill an unfiltered stream.

I think the nigger spam concern is overblown, there would be a lot of it at first but at 150$ a pop I think even the people sending it would burn out quick and look for more witty things to send. The high cost to tts should be it's only real filter, beyond that anything legal should fly.

Problem is that some of the people in the house are stock zoomers, not imageboard/gossip forum dwellers. Nigger spam could actually get them to say "fuck this shit" and leave. You've already seen how people acted with the dox (immediately blew their load in a very unfunny way), unfiltered TTS would be the same.

You underestimate how retarded and desperate for lulz people all. This show makes terminally online people upset because it shows a bunch of autists making genuine friendships. They’re gonna spam nigger even if it was 300$ because “haha look at how edgy and le funny I am.”
