With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Frank Hassle finally gets in and asks Simmons what was up with him sniffing underwear, Simmons says it was probably his own, Hassle counters that it wasn't in his room, it was in Mauro's room.

Each time this show reaches a new low, it always bounces back up, then reaches a newer lower. Is it too much to ask for you guys to either enjoy the show or enjoy the trainwreck?

A lot of cable shows have these same sorts of massive fuckups in production. Difference is, you don't get to see them in that case.

I think the best thing that could happen for the show rn is more advertising, though. Maybe some sort of recap on day 10 for newcomers, so that people can jump right in? Idk.

This show can only slingshot back & forth so much before its neck snaps. We went from "our website doesn't work" to "Sam got rid of 2 contestants in one day & convinced at least half the other ones to consider jumping ship too." That's not even getting into budget concerns.

Weren't Simmons and Mauro sleeping in the same room? I don't think anyone moved their shit over to different rooms when they moved rooms.

It was the day after he moved out of Mauro's room, and it was his underwear, he took it to wash
 
Like 80% of the intense Simmons aggression is the IP2 fans / people who wanted hell house finally seeing their opportunity to be angry as possible at someone.

People were acting like Jon would develop lifelong cPTSD from watching Sam shit all over Simmons then kick him out. Even if it rocked his socks, he'll be fine and sperging joyfully in a day or two. What's happening now is desperate damage control to stop him from leaving too soon, which may very well be a consequence of Sam's needlessly cruel bit towards Jon's only friend in the tank.

Letty shakes Jon's baby
Jon gets mad and shakes other babies.
Simmons reveals himself to be a perv.
TTS bullies the fuck out of Jon.
Jon doesn't all the way believe Simmons is a perv.
Everyone spends all day mad at Jon.
Sam shows up out of the blue, barely bothers staying in character, and throws Simmons to the curb in a hilarious manner.
The weird shock of it happening makes a lot of the fish nervous.
Jon gets upset finding out Simmons was a pedo + the constant backstabbing from everyone against him + the TTS bullying, hides in a bathroom.
Sam tries to goad him out with an alpha male speech, gets a bit real with him, but it doesn't work.
Jet comes up and just man-to-man levels with him, Jon comes out. Jet and Jon hug (kinda a sweet moment)
Jon disappears. Mauro quits.
Jon comes back later.
Everyone is promised a beer/pizza/movie night.
 
The way Simmons talks about massaging and cuddling Jon really shows how naive he is to Western expectations. He's literally an ESL autistic, still not defending himself because he does not understand the weight of the situation or fully understanding the accusations. I really think his responses have to be looked at with a level of empathy, also his accent is noticeably heavier in the better audio quality in the interview.

I don't think you are really aware of how pissed folks get over even a hint of pedo behavior if you think that is the case. Some of it, yeah sure, but that number you pulled out of your ass.
