Gifted season passes are 50 fishcoin each if you buy 1 or 5, then discounted from there. They last 3 days each.

I recall Jet claimed gifted subs were $3 a pop during the last day of auditions. An unbelievable ripoff for 3 days during pre-season. The one i was gifted ran out between streams.

i think i just realized what was the funniest moment of S4:
"I am the host of the fucking show!" :lit::lit::lit::lit::lit: genuinely felt like one of the shitposts from /tv/ brought to reality, fucking hell
He actually said
“I invented the fucking show!”
Which is even funnier because he didn’t. Sam did.

While funny that he seethed about it publicly, he's not wrong. Fishtank originated as Hell House, an idea he pitched on an old PGL episode. Sam seems pissed off that it's the most successful MDE project since the original World Peace and it wasn't really his creation at all, I think him leaving the project is partially because he's mad that WP2 flopped.

The question of "why" people would suddenly resubscribe when its obvious that there is no season for a month or two is for you guys to puzzle out.
It's really quite straightforward. The audition review streams are new content, new content which encourages people to get a season pass to watch the full streams. People then bought season passes for this.

Idk why you think wp2 flopped. Unless the mde.tv view counts are fake, it definitely made a profit.

He kind of is wrong though - Sam did invent the show; Hell House was indeed Sam's idea, which he got from being inspired by Ice Poseidon's show.

Jet liked Sam's idea and put most the leg-work in to making it more of a reality, no doubt in part because Sam was busy elsewhere.

I wonder if Sam wanting less to do with Fishtank is in part because it harms his changed brand of "serious political figure and moral arbiter" to be so publicly fueling such "degeneracy" (even though he'll continue to profit off of it).

For one the view counts are fake, and as others have said it had absolutely zero cultural impact.

Admittedly it’s been a long time since I watched it, so you could very well be right. I just remember Jet talking about all the ideas he had for it, so I assumed he was the one to bring it up. In any case, I still think it’s fair to call Jet the show’s main creator, he’s the one who put in most of the conceptual work, and crucially is the one who appears to have had the idea of making it a 24/7 livestream, Hell House was just going to be taped like a normal show.

people really trust those view counts? of course they're fucking fake dude.
they obviously are. why wouldnt they be?

Why do you think this? Vids on the site regularly have abysmal view counts. Pause Snack Continue has ~500 views per ep on mde.tv vs. 5-10k per ep on YouTube

1769720516881.png 1769720576687.png

Ep. 16 has 34 comments (one comment per 19 views) on mde.tv vs 379 (one comment per 22 views) on YouTube, so the comments per view are in line with each other

WRT Extreme Peace, the "Careless Coffee" sketch on YouTube has 1,041 comments for 232k views, or one comment per every 222 views. Episode 4 of Extreme Peace (which I think that sketch is from) on mde.tv has 480 comments for 97902 views, or one comment for every 203 views. Again, the comments per view are in line with each other.

Looks to me like the view counts are probably accurate.

Other than "hurr durr wiggers fuck everything up and lie" why do either of you think the mde.tv view counts are exaggerated?

inb4 "only the extreme peace views are fake and the comments are fake too"

Sam said they made their money back for WP2 and I'd believe it, but that isn't success for a media product; success is earning enough to do another season comfortably. The only MDE product that has a comfortable surplus is Fishtank.

I am definitely correct on this. Sam had the original idea for Hell House from watching Ice Posiedon and had it on the back-burner; Jet liked it and picked it up. He has said it on a number of occasions, eg he runs through it here from 3:40:

and mentions it at the end of this vid here:
