i dont expect the show to start tomorrow, but being left in the dark for four months now without a single update or even confirmation that they're working on the next season is very annoying. communication has always been a problem, and if they truly wanted to right their wrongs they'd acknowledge that and throw us a bone

I've been thinking a bit about how they are posting little clips every now and then and how that could be a way to check the temperature of the audience. YouTube shorts are somewhat in the middle, X posts get mostly negative responses and Instagram seems close to YouTube when they post normally and not in the story format where you can't really know what people think.

It is a bit surprising just how strong negative sentiment still is, so it could be giving them pause about open communication. Obviously communication is a continuous problem and this is also so far pretty much par for the course. Before crashing a season they had less to communicate as well, so I think this situation asks for more transparency inherently.

I think the fan seasons have been generally good, but they get too stuck in being meta, and contestants being too fixated on making content/making a name for themselves in the community. I shouldn't have to have suffered throuh StreamStars or be terminally online in official and unofficial FT Discord channels to understand whatever reference the contestants are making on the show.

This may be contentious but I think Fish could benefit from coaching to some extent from production. Lay out ground rules if it matters like "dont talk about r9k" if Jet is going to be so assblasted about it and I think they will find that Fish are going to be willing to play along most of the time.

It is a reality show and artifice is always going to be part of it. I do not think you gain much from maximizing 'truth' by letting people fall where they fall into the social dynamic, or navigating unspoken rules. Many Fish have died from stepping on some odd landmines in that way, like Jin, when production could have coached them a bit to avoid all of it.

So I think you could avoid Fish being too meta with instruction while still casting 'fans'. Anyone on a reality show will be acting to some degree no matter what, so if it can be directed, just slightly I think its worthwhile.

Why post this and not the ARG that was being pushed last week? Posted randomly for a few days by 1 pbtids. Base64 decodes to 'RETRIBUTION: 12-95' and could imply a december season with a 1995 or 2095 theme, that is assuming its even real. There's also hidden text in the image which looks like 'thekeyiswithinthis' and the number 2 in the corner.
