No, it's her being 18 that's creepy. For some reason there's always people in this thread ready to pounce at anyone who thinks a guy nearing his 30s seeking out high school girls who are literally on the cusp, right on the line of what's legally and socially acceptable to fuck is creepy.
Yup, that's me. If you don't think this shit is weird and deserves to be questioned you need to get your head examined.
Ellie has many simps here that would argue all the time that it isn't creepy for grown men to seek out high schoolers. I know because I had people respond to me like this every time I brought up how creepy it is.
This sounds like the least charitable interpretation of their argument. Is it disgusting to be seeking out highschoolers? Yes, if we had it my way we'd dump these people in the ocean.
Is it wrong for two consenting adults with a significant age gap to be in a relationship? Legally, no but socially and ethically, it should raise concerns. Power dynamics don't disappear just because both parties are over 18. Take Anna Nicole Smith and Jerry Seinfeld, they are on opposite ends of the issue, but both cases highlight issues with power, maturity, and intent. In my opinion they each took advantage of those dynamics for their own personal gain, and that makes their behavior undeniably predatory. They are bad people for seeking out that kind of relationship.
If Jet had just met some girl on the street and they hit it off and she so happened to be 18, I think we would all still make fun of him, but I seriously doubt the community would be nearly as disappointed and angry as it is now. Jet knows what he is doing is bad, that's why he's determined to keep it a secret and act as though it isn't happening. Jet doesn't want to be seen as Dr. Cross, he's fully aware of the situation.
What we’ve seen makes it clear that Fishtank has never been more than an ATM and a casting couch for Jet and his crew. He isn't in a legitimate or healthy relationship with a young woman. It’s not some love story pushing through controversy, it’s just Jet’s latest hookup, and Ellie’s the one being used. If she were my sister or daughter, I'd be wishing death on wiggers. It’s gross and pathetic.
I’ll start taking it more seriously when Jet actually introduces Ellie as his girlfriend, until then I cant help but not see it as another sexual conquest.
