burt just met betty for the first time

wait no thats definitely not gregtank production
betty just said theyre at rachels house

I'm sure Greg has good reasons, as he's a good and honest guy. Still, it stings, and I'm a little bummed.
Well the choice would be to ban evade and risk perma ban or use like Rumble or some shit or ask to use the fishtank site.
I don't really blame him but it sucks this is what ended it. Fuck Twitch and Green Twitch

I'm honestly a little disappointed in his handling of this. The stream went down, he tweeted that he was working on it, and then was radio silent for half of the day before calling it. If he shared his reasoning for things (not wanting to ban evade or whatever) I think I'd be more charitable. He displayed the same behavior as the wiggers in that he feels like he doesn't need to answer to his audience. I'm not saying he needed to come out and say "hey, I got banned for x days" or whatever, but it would make sense to offer some sort of reasoning beyond "I'm not cut out for this". I'm not mad at Greg - I actually think he did a really solid job. The only issue that I think all of these showrunners need to focus on is communication.

Feel bad for Greg, but that cast was AIDS anyway. Segregated was way better.

Yeah, the cast was a problem. I was briefly on board with Eddy and Leah but they very quickly got annoying, especially at the end when they weren't allowed to be slapped. Trish was just as entertaining as she was on season 2 (not at all). Zake started getting into it, but he ramped too slowly and was overall kind of boring. The fact that Frank was apparently told he wasn't allowed to hassle means they were going for tone that would never work for the audience.

I thought the cast was pretty good.
Theyre locked in one room for a couple weeks together, i feel like it's unreasonable to expect them to be entertaining lovable and likeable all the time.
I'm not quite sure what people expect or how you would find cast that can always be on and please everyone.

Holy shit is the concept cursed? Are we cursed? Bros…
Technically yes. Even in the case of a season functioning literally perfectly in every way eventually some toes are going to have to be stepped on and a good fish is going to walk too soon or be forced into elimination because of how the show is structured. I have a whole chapter on it lol

I think there's a mix of natural charisma and willingness to participate that's lost in a lot of these projects. If I were to pick out the best contestants of each Fishtank season the trend would ultimately show that it relies on participation without having a major hiccup, not necessarily being always on. For example, I firmly believe that in S4 one of the strongest contestants was Freddy. This wasn't due to him being particularly likeable or good at what he did. Frankly, I hated how loud he was. Even with my personal gripes aside, he made a ton of content, participated in everything, made things interesting, and was willing to step out of his comfort zone.

Using ConGREGated as an example, the strongest contestant from the outset was absolutely Eddy and the weakest was Trish. Ultimately this was because Eddy stepped out and did things the audience would enjoy while Trish spent time just sitting in the corner, not engaging when she didn't have to. I do believe that Eddy fell off at the end, which is inevitable given the fact that his wife pitched a fit about several things and ultimately killed some of the momentum, but overall the reason he won and the reason he was my top contestant are due to actually trying.

You can't really cast on expected effort, but that's my thought on saying the cast wasn't great. It's for sure hard to get people who will step out like that, but at the same time that should be the goal from the jump with a project like this. You can't rely on your audience to push content with your contestants but that's the crutch most of these shows and seasons have fallen on.

I guess eddy won
And yeah I get what you're saying - this is my belief too. The best contestants are the ones who are "into it"
I don't really care what they do - as long as theyre willing to do shit, whatever that means.

It's why Icky pukers kind of challenges are good are good even though theyre gross.
they seperate the wheat from the chaff. if you're willing to do that shit, you're into it. if you back off, youre not.

but theres like degrees of fish

1. people who wont do crazy shit
2. people who will but need prod to tell them to
3. people who just do shit.

but 2 and 3 are hard to differentiate - especially before the show but even on the show like you could have someone who will do whatever but they wont ever just be crazy on their own.

and even with people who take initiative to do shit on their own it's hard because they dont always know what to do or whats acceptable, theyre worried about going from content to being too annoying.

Like idk i think its kinda impossible to know what people will like and be proactive about it.

Like the last season Angelina was trying to do stuff and she got eliminated immiediately
and rachel was just a big complaining hog who got coddled even though the audience hated her

idk like its really hard to discern what makes a really good contestant.

There really aren't any contestants anyone agrees on as being good/great.
