With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

They should never bring back Frank. He sucked in season 1 but in season 2 he actively made everything worse.

Fatty is at least a non-violent way of making everyone uncomfortable because they have to deal with his behavior, his smell, and his voice. He's a good freeloader, because while he's annoying to watch, Fish quickly realize they can and should fuck with him. He also falls down a lot and that is funny.

Is that true? This season it seemed like production either gave him the power to discipline fish for fucking with him or else arranged karma to dunk on anyone who messed with him.
If I was cutting Frank or Fatty I'd cut Fatty and then I'd pay money to put him back to for the satisfaction of cutting him again

Fatty is good in small doses. I don't mind him coming back next season, I just don't want him to stay AGAIN. Please no.

My view on Frank soured after he was being a date rapey pest with Tay, especially the way production handled it ("Frank forcing you to kiss him was just a joke!"). I wouldn't miss him if he was gone next season tbh.

I agree I think Frank needs to have less power though, I think hes at his best when people can fuck with him. fatty just cries and makes the timeframe about him, but frank is a good bad guy character no one has sympathy for him. I also think he needs to be supervised after the Tay thing though, he cant run the show by himself less it turns into highschool bully bullys people into uncomfortable situations.

About Frank. Sure, he's "violent," but he at least doubles back and checks on people and doesn't make stupid excuses when he throws shit like Fatty does. I think if they bring him back for season 3 he's going to need to dial it back, if they really do cast people who don't know MDE, but this season the fish knew what they were getting.
I think the scissors moment was pretty awesome too. Like he's a total cunt for every step along the way to get there but to see Tay do that out of reflex was, mmmm, kino

But agreed, I did forget about the kissing thing. That was too far. I think he's always going to push boundaries and he did a good job this season of not crossing the line most of the time unlike last time (when touching was against the rules and with dumping sewage water on Letty) but he managed to find a new one they probably didn't think to tell him not to do... it was definitely fucked. He's lucky Tay is so down for everything

The wiggers either can't or won't supervise Frank as we've seen two seasons in a row. They barely even cared when Tay got blackout and Frank started creeping on her. If they get a cast of normal people for season 3 bringing him back would be an incredibly bad idea.

What? He looks way better bald than with the "Just Fuck my Shit up" stuff Jimmy did. Trish and Tay were commenting he looked great with short hair while they cut the full length stuff off but immediately someone from production mandated that it get really fucked up and Jimmy took over.

I will say that TJ can be really funny when he breaks through his anxiety and just acts. His moment in the attic where he paints himself into a corner is basically the theme of Season 2 in general

I actually like Frank more when he isn't doing super physical stuff. He's really good at keeping conversation going and needling people. The novelty of Fatty has completely wore off for me unless he's doing screaming elmo rage. He didn't freak out nearly as much as he did in season 1 so he was just mostly annoying in season 2. I suppose it'll add a new layer to it though if they actually find normies to be fish.

@Voland an interesting view into something we take for granted this season: how great it is that none of the fish got access to their phones (except Jimmy, once, the morning after he got a bunch of TTS doxing hoarderman so he could confirm he wasn't dead like TTS kept telling him he was). it's interesting that in his post history he stops dunking on Jimmy after the mallet thing, I wonder if he considered Jimmy dusted or if seeing his sister crying for Jimmy made him stop.

I mean in contrast to last season where after an hour with their phones, Letty was immediately paranoid, Vance and Sylvia turned on Letty permanently, Josie got a sense of the size of her fanbase, etc. Imagine how much dogpiling there would have been this season if they'd gotten their phones again.

I believe someone crunched the numbers and total revenue for season 1 was around 1.2.-1.7 million based off of stuff that could be tracked like plushies and TTS. Given how expensive TTS was in the first few weeks and how much individual cigarettes were marked up from a single pack I can see them making a fair bit of money. There isn't a single point in the show where Trish, Shinji, Tay or Jimmy didn't have one. Shinji and Tay seemed like they were pushing a pack or two a day towards the tail end of the season and I believe each cig was $30. Given that TJ didn't smoke he was probably the least profitable contestant the whole way through the show, even if he did get a fair bit of TTS berating him to do shit.
