With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

am i crazy or what is good? the end shots of the cams were very nostalgic and cozy for people who were there, otherwise it plays as a great if edgy reality show. the story beats were good, the intro/soundtrack was incredible. really excited for more

The /tv/ threads were atrocious. Just a hive of mental illness and the most retarded conspiracy theories. There was also a dedicated spammer who hated Sam so he would post CP in every thread.

They’re gonna be different styles. I’m looking forward to this edited version and although a network will probably not pick it up this is what they woulda picked up. Fishtank was lightning in a bottle of course the edited version is going to be different, but I look forward to this version too.

I definitely wouldn't describe it as 'amazing' but it was alright for two or three weeks but as soon as Jon left the entertainment value dropped off a fucking cliff, I stopped even checking in and only watched it through clips after that.

I never missed Jon after he left and when he came back he acted like a total egotistical asshole. Chris replaced him as house retard and tbh was far more entertaining.
 
Anybody know how I can figure out how to download the episode off the site. Would rather have it on a portable HD attached to my Roku instead of having to hook a HDMI cable to my laptop. The site layout has me confused and my usual method of Jdownloader isn't having it.

IMO the show just changed after that but not in a bad way, just a different way. With Jon out the extreme pressure on the other fish to fill the hole he left was compelling, especially as they were all "insiders" so they understood that without Jon around to get gaslit, so much more was about to be asked of them.

I really liked the episode. That was just one day though. At this rate I'm picturing episode 2 will jump straight to day 4 with Pencak Silat and day 5 with the house getting doxxed, and maybe shoot all the way ahead to day 8, with simmons getting kicked.

He totally got an ego after leaving Fishtank from as far as I can tell, he seems fairly egotistical like that to begin with and then combined with Jet blowing smoke up every contestants ass acting like Fishtank was everyone's ticket to stardom, of course an idiot like Jon was gonna let it go to his head. Those first two-three weeks of him just being a clueless moron were very entertaining though
 
The crew had to baby Jon to get him to stay as long as he did. That's why they were really soft with TTS. After he left TTS got a lot more offensive and entertaining.

Man fuck Jon leaving as a lowpoint the camping challenge (was this week 2 or 3??) was by far the low point of the show. The most boring and uninspired part of the show. It felt like Jet had run out of ideas and Sam who was actively shooting WP2 had stopped caring about the project.

I used the Firefox (lol) extension Video DownloadHelper and located the streaming download after clicking on the video. it should say "1980/1080" and have a stream rate
 
Grift or no Grift, I'm looking forwards for season 2, season 1 gave me a weird comfy feeling I haven't been able to replicate since.
Is this what a parasocial relationship feels like? Who knows, don't care.

It literally was because Jet had run out of ideas, because before Jon leaving he didn't need to give the fish activities to do all day like a cruise planner. If the fish were just chilling in the living room generally Jon would rile them up into something. But day 16 right after he left Jet had to come upstairs and give them Impersonations and then kind of fellate them all for being so funny during that challenge.
I don't think he'd had to come up with 3-5 hour challenges or even considered he would need to do that before Jon quit though so there was a big gap especially on the 18th and 19th where everyone was just lying on the fake grass for hours.

In retrospect though I think the two days of tension was what made the drama on day 20 and drunk piece of shit hit so well. Damiel was getting increasingly pissed off and if it took two days of boiling him to get there it might've been worth it.
