I thought Tulsi was ok until she mentioned that we were on the edge of nuclear war. Like bitch, are you for real?

Also, her exceptional comments on Joe Rogan about Trump trade policies possibly leading to nuclear war with China made me laugh so hard that I thought she was a special kind of exceptional.
It's almoat as if every Democrat inherrently needs to fearmonger no matter how sane they are

I agree and politicians say stupid shit all the time, but she says less stupid shit as the others in my opinion.

I like what trump is doing as far as trade and the border, but goddamn I wish he would shut his mouth, but then I know his type from the business world and I know that will never happen. So I just shrug and move on.

Wait wait... "Combat Tourist" Gabbard was a HARE KRISHNA?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Fuck that bitch then. She needs to go back to orange robes and begging for change in airports.

Who might be the least crazy this night in the debate?
John Delaney, which is insane considering he supports post birth late term abortions. I guess those organs are extremely profitable for the dnc.

He believes Medicare for All is a pipe dream and they were terrified of letting him speak on immigration. That said, he didn't do well in this debate and Delaney2020 will happen when pigs fly.

Then again, I was playing a drinking game last night so I don't remember everything the milf said. Maybe she wasn't as batshit as the rest which doesn't say much.

unironically yang.
Bernie will be as deranged and b8-filled as usual (expect every comment to be trying to get the audience to cheer, while biden will bank on obungo to gib votes. Camel hairs will be following the booker routine by answering every question with "I'm black", and Buttigieg will try to cover the fact the literal only reason his town isn't bankrupt is that a bunch of drunk white people come up every year to watch ND football and buy merch. oh, and remind us all that he's a faggot. hickenlooper, bennett, swalwell, and williamson are all nutbags and basically may as well not be running. Gillibrand is just there to up name recognition

Yang is going to say outlandish stuff but he's one of the few that has some semblance of an ideology that isn't built on gay-cuckery. his campaign is unique in that it's one of the few with an actual main goal (economy and jobs), expect him to focus on that without doing too much fan service on blumpf/immigration/abortion/other virtues to signal. I may vehemently disagree with him on most things, but he's actually willing to discuss policy and make changes to it with people, making him a rare sight

I'm going to go out on a limb here. Trump will win in 2020. The Democrats will go mental but in 2024 will have some a new candidate, not a Clinton, but who will pursue a Bill Clinton like Third Way centrist policy.

I.e. their basic problem is that they're selling a bunch of policies which are too left wing to be viable with the electorate. And despite all the Alt Right fears about demographics a more conservative Zoomer generation will make this more true in future not less true. Even if the Democrats stop the wall and get an amnesty.

Of course I could be wrong. Maybe the Democrats majority of the minorities social justice strategy will work for them, like the media keep telling them it will.

Thing is, she barely said anything during the debate. She's not aggressive enough, and the only impression she left is that she's a stilted speaker and she's hot, which honestly might be enough these days. Also, I doubt the average viewer can even connect her name and face together with how little presence she had at the debate.

I was going to say that if the sanctuary cities, protections for illegal immigrants, and voter fraud keeps up, the pandering actually might work out for them in 2024. But then I realized that illegals who don't fear deportation are probably more likely to vote for a rightwing religious fundie.

I sort of oscillate from deep pessimism - Democrats give illegals the vote, America becomes a one party state to guarded optimism to be honest.

Not just a regular Hare Krishna, but part of a cult-of-personality splinter sect that was ejected from the Hare Krishnas called the Science of Identity Foundation led by definite lolcow material Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda Paramahamsa (née Chris Butler). She is apparently no longer a member but has been very cagey about her current religious beliefs.
Oh good, those breakaway cults from the main cult are always FUCKING INSANE and probably had some murder plots going to take over the main sect. And you thought Romney being a Mormon was weird...

Frankly what disqualifies Tulsi is pulling an immediate 180 on LGBT the minute it became a liability in Hawaii. That reversal was worse than Clintonesque, she was vociferous about it.

Wow a MILF formerly in a crazy sect of a crazy cult. And she's able to run for Democratic Primary. I wonder how she is at home?

I think the biggest problem with the Democrats is that they don't know what they stand for. If they could pick a platform and find a way to make it resonate with people, then they would be in a much better position than they are now, regardless of where their message happened to fall on the political spectrum.

This is the thing that people keep getting wrong about the 2016 election. The big lesson of 2016 wasn't that "the silent majority elected Trump" (as many have presumed), it was that determined minorities can swing the entire political landscape in their direction if everyone else is disorientated enough. Statistically, most Americans disapprove of Trump, but he will likely win in 2020 for the same reason that he won in 2016: American politics is disorientated by apathy and disaffection, and there is no one better placed than Trump to unite the country.

History shows us time and again that ideology plays second fiddle to good optics and organization.

Also, is there any actual evidence that Generation Z will be more conservative?

Also, is there any actual evidence that Generation Z will be more conservative?

I linked to a Forbes article here.

Oftentimes Millennials have been criticized for being notoriously liberal, but it looks like the generation right behind us has completely rebelled. A U.K. Study at The Gild did a survey of almost 2,000 adults and found that on issues like gay marriage, marijuana legalization, transgender rights, and even tattoos, 59% of Gen Z respondents described their views as ‘conservative’ and ‘moderate’.

This is a radical change from 83% Millennials and 85% of Gen X who state that their views are ‘quite’ or ‘very liberal’ on those same issues. What’s worrying is that given their more conservative leanings, Gen Z was not taken into account during this election, even though for many of them it was their first. Younger generations are famous for being liberal, therefore we mistakenly assumed that Gen Z would vote Democratic. But studies show that Gen Z’s views closely resemble those of Libertarian or Moderate Republicans, and that they related with Donald Trump on issues like national security and job creation.
