Beirut, Lebanon (CNN)

A large explosion rocked the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday, damaging buildings and offices around the city.
The source of the explosion was a major fire at a warehouse for firecrackers near the port in Beirut, the state-run National News Agency reported.
A red cloud hung over the city in the wake of the blast as firefighting teams rushed to the scene to try to put out the fire.
Local news reported multiple people were wounded in the incident.
This is a breaking story, more to follow.

Attaching all of the videos I grabbed from this guys twitter just now as well, here's one of them:

Here are some links to other posts in the thread with more content, you may need to go to the posts directly to see the media:

Couple more angles of the explosions, seems everyone in Beirut holds their phone vertically. Buckle up for a very delayed boom in the second video.

Here's a different angle. Notice how the guys recording it say "Allahu Akbar".

EDIT: Direct embed

Found this slowmo of the explosion in which you can see the fireball and airblast more clearly

I think this is just a slowed down version of this that I grabbed from twitter (https://twitter.com/saadmohseni/status/1290678176574779395):

Also this for another, closer angle (https://twitter.com/realdavereilly/status/1290690743217119235):

And you retards thought putting it all in one place is a good idea? :story:

What remains of the dock:

There’s a radiation spike picked up near Italy/scicily. Let me try to archive this or take a screenshot

I know that there are several vids on here but here's a 2+ minute concatenation of multiple angles and some security camera footage of blast sites.

Translation: Preliminary security information talks about 2,700 tons of confiscated ammonia in the port exploded during the process of welding a small hole to prevent theft

I don't fucking believe it. There's another huge fire in the exact same fucking port a month later. People are fleeing in case there's another explosion. How fucking incompetent are the Lebanese authorities?

I love this part.

but the Lebanese army said in a statement that it began at a warehouse where oil and tires are kept in the port's duty-free market. No casualties have been reported.

Don’t worry! It’s not an explosion! It’s just a massive oil fueled Tire Fire! Yeah, that thick black cloud ain’t never going away.

Holy shit. Beirut is home to a literal fucking tire fire. You cannot make this up. A literal, fucking tire fire of all things now, on top of the metaphorical tire fire otherwise known as Lebanon.

With this in account, holy fuck they were inept at their job
Explosive shit just chucked around like it was a toy.

How many other warehouses in Lebanon have similar situations?
The real question is what other ports across the world (particularly in the third world) have warehouses of chemicals just sitting around, waiting for the big day to go BOOM?

I just love that they were storing huge amounts of fireworks with an even larger amount of decaying explosives. Fucking geniuses, whether it was Hamas or whomever else that owned the warehouse. They invited the explosion.

Definitely Hezbollah, considering rumors that they control the port.

Was there also another explosion in South Beirut, which they control as well?

According to the video, that explosion was caused by a detonation of less than half of the ammonium nitrate. Fuck, it's horrifying to imagine how much bigger the blast could have been. :stress:

Remember, it's not just limited to third world ports. China go boom too sometimes:

(embedded because archiving is good)
I would guess dozens of these kinds of dangerous storage situations exist between large industrial ports and secret arms caches.

America goes boom too, but like with China its normally at a paint factory or something that has an expectation of being volatile.

Just wait until you find out what goes through your town on trains and trucks every day!

yeah they got lucky...

well rail transport in the west changed after a whole bunch of railcars blew up in germany, just a few miles away from the place that explosion ended shuffling ammonium nitrat around with explosives...
