I couldn't get myself to read that entire thread. She somehow managed to be more insufferable than the assburger thread or even what was happening in /feg/ for the past few days.

So question, I only finished Black Eagle and Blue Lion routes but I'm kind of burnt out after how samey both those routes felt. Is it worth doing Golden Deer + DLC or should I just do Edelgard + DLC and call it a day?

I would suggest to do a challenge run.
I was pretty bored after my first run.
Having a weird ass fun unbalanced team helped me compensate for the shit map design to do all routes. (full magic, full bow no player ennemy phase, full flyer)

To be fair I sort of relate with the first thread since characters like Ingrid and Hilda get flanderized to a point where people unironically think they're unequivocally racist. In fact, he probably would have made a better argument about memed characters if he had use those two as an example. Of course, he's too much of a waifufag to figure that out.

Also, I like the part where he claimed that he commissioned the majority of FlaynxByleth fanart.

How is Hilda memed into a racist? Seems more like she gets memed into Claude's slampig.

I'm kinda surprised that Hilda ISN'T slammed because of her racism towards Almyrans, based on her supports with Cyril where she initially is all "oh but you're one of the GOOD ones, boy!" And yet Ingrid actively tries to NOT treat Dedue badly and ultimately does go past her personal grudge against the Duscurians for supposedly being the ones behind her boyfriend's death, but fans treats her as if she was Ilsa She Wolf of the SS.

While her early support with Cyril can definitely be interpreted as ignorant or insensitive, people tend to forget that she doesn't retain the same attitude at the end of her support. Some people distort this by flanderizing her into the 'CEO of racism' or something stupid. I'll admit Ingrid has it a lot worse because of how tame her support is but they both fall into the same boat of being mischaracterized.

For me, it's the same kind of annoying as 'le Sigurd BBQ' memes or comparing Edelgard to [insert real or fictional person here].

I guess it's because Hilda doesn't have Ingrid's "luck" of being childhood friends with slashable guys (Felix,Dimitri and to a smaller degree Sylvain) AND later befriending a bisexual girl who flirts with her (Dorothea), so she doesn't end up in the shippers' shit list for "being in the way of the boys" AND "refusing a girl who likes her". If not for the dumb BUT SHE RACIST bs, Ingrid gets hated on for her "role" in the ship wars and shit.

I just started playing Three Houses a few weeks ago and I’m really liking it. Keep in mind that it’s my first FE game, so I’m not judging it by the expectations set by earlier games in the franchise. I was looking for something similar to Shining Force, which I had not played until 2019. And though the writing is far from nuanced, I still find it engaging enough that I’m actually planning on an playing again as a different house. And thankfully I’m old enough to know not to engage with any fandoms. I don’t wanna catch contact autism.

Yeah the story has never really been the strong suit of the series. Its more so the characters and the map design that shine. If you're really looking for FE kino after Three Houses I'd recommend FE4 Holy Genealogy War and FE5 Thracia 776. The GBA and DS games are also solid albeit very casual, but really you can't go wrong with any entry. The only truly "bad" FE game I'd argue is Fates (and Echoes if you hate the gameplay changes).

Fates is only actually bad in Revelations, the other two parts are decent
Birthright is simply aggressively unassuming, but makes up for it with the Fates gameplay generally being the best and having interesting new classes like Mechanist and Merchant
Conquest's plot is retarded but the maps themselves are great fun. Port of Dia is probably the franchises best level.
Revelations is the worst of all worlds: dumb plot, dull maps and atrocious unit balance

I've played revelation but haven't finished it and the only thing I disagree with you here is the dull maps.

A lot of the maps do have something going for them it's just that they're way too gimmicky to be remotely fun. One of the early chapter literally has you shoveling snow out of a village just as an example.

That's mainly what I mean, their gimmicks slow the game down into being longer than it needs to be

Compare that to Wind Village on Conquest, which either you can play slowly to avoid the gimmick, abuse the gimmick to push the enemies back or abuse it to send units right to the boss and clear the map quickly

Fates is easily the worst in the series. The story is mind-numbingly terrible. The characters are dull, the localization is an atrocious meme-filled abortion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA6A-ySMHYI, the map design is bad (with the exception of Conquest). To be fair I haven't beaten Revelations, since I couldn't be bothered with yet another playthrough of the reskin. The games are also really really easy, I'd argue even easier than Sacred Stones due to all the baffling game exploits. I remember my Effie knight toward the end of my Conquest playthrough having capped out Defense and MAGIC DEFENSE while having the movement of a literal MOUNTED unit and able to fucking teleport. It was retarded. Galeforce exploition in both Awakening and Fates was also absolutely busted. Having unkillable god-tier units in FE isn't new (and part of the fun sometimes), but having half your army being eldergod horrors on the battlefield really trivializes everything.
