I can never get myself to play one, but if you're asking for a recommendation, I hear Order of the Crimson Arms is pretty decent.

Actually I wanted to give rom hacks recommandations to those who are wanna play some

I can understand why you would have a hard time getting into it since some hacks have bad stories, are stupidly hard/umbalanced and suffer from a laye game dip in fun.

Order of the Crimson Arm is quite good and got some pretty clever Map design on some maps.

The maiden of light and the dark lord is another good fe7 like experience.

The last promise is Peak garbage. The story is so bad it's good and the gameplay falls in all the regular rom hacks pitfalls

Fe7x is not yet finished but it's very good and original

Vision quest is peak fe8 romhacking with a pretty balanced and fast paced game it's really a good exemple on how rom hacks improved.

The golden sun god is very good in gameplay and in story.

Fe8 randomisers are really good and fun.

Fe6 rebalance patchs are pretty nice too.

Yeah, a lot of the stories I've read are really eye-rolling and stuff like the super Thracia trade is really stupid.

I've seen people play FE8 randomizer and it looks pretty good, I think I might try that out sometime.

Am I the only one that is just done with 3H?

I know it's been a year and I finished all routes since a long time but I don't see myself playing it again like other fe games. The replayability is really bad.

I did like 4 runs and after 2 the game did feel stale.

The only thing keeping it kinda fresh in some fronts was the characters and the silly chalenge runs I did in the end(magic only to recruit, bow only no recruit no ennemy phase, flyers only no recruit).

I might play it for really dumb meme builds every couple years or so, but yeah the maps are so shit especially in the early stages and maddening feels tedious to do more then once to say I did it due to the no early prepromote early game.

Part 1 is a complete slogfest since you're stuck with a group of growth units. A lot of the units that are often considered good need some level of hand-holding before they can become reliable. Lysithea is a pretty good example of this. In maddening at least, her hit rate is fairly shaky often sitting at 60%-70%. She struggles to double anything in the early game which is kind of a big deal since most units have a decent HP pool to withstand large chunks of damage. Granted, I'm not saying she's bad or anything, it's just really tedious having to work with a growth unit especially when they're min-maxed to this extreme. Growth emblem just isn't that fun for me imo.

I'm doing a GD maddening run with no NG+ shenanigans and I can say so far that the difficulty really exposes some of the weaker spots of the game design, specifically the early game.

The only meme build I ever did was make Edelgard a trickster lol. Watching her smugly raise her arms is pretty hilarious to look at.

Exactly even with the gimmick abd tedious end game maps, Conquest is really replayable.
Jerald would have been a pretty good early game pre promote tbh.

Maddening is so poorly designed. I admit never playing it. It's like awakening's lunatic. Wish they had a difficulty between hard and lunatic.
I am a fatesfag so to be conquest lunatic/hard is the difficulty I want to play.

Maddening mostly consist of stat-inflated enemies and high enemy composition. Pretty much all archers and snipers have poison strike which, personally, do way more damage than it should. It honestly feels like getting hit by an archer and being in range with another enemy is just a death sentence. I think chapter 6 of Conquest really highlights a stark contrast with how it handles poison strike.

I gotta say though, Sothis's favorite sippy cup is doing me wonders. At least with the archers that is.

When you think about it, Conquest can be pretty bullshit sometimes but the capture skill make the game honnest and wary of making regular ennemies overpowered.
Generic are good but not great even with some skills you get some gems tho(Haitaka,Rally man , Gazak and pegs).

Imagine if you could use those 3 range poison strike archers, those speedy sword users with pass and the crazy strong dragon riders.:)
That would be pretty fun tho

Yeah, the capture mechanic was kinda cool even if it has its limitation. You could also toss in Randolph and Ladislava but at this point, these two characters exist purely as death fodder.

Going back to your first post, it's really ironic that 3H has pretty hit-and-miss replay value. I remember the justification for some of the writing issues is that you're supposed to complete all the other routes as if that fixes some of the shallow ambiguity this game has.

Also, since I mentioned an interest in an FE8 randomizer, which one would you recommend? I found one from Klokinator, the guy that went off on Arch over the dumb petition, but I couldn't figure out how it worked. I have Yune downloaded, which took forever to get working since I'm illiterate, but I haven't tried it out yet or what seeds to try.

No please don't do that :O
Use this one it's the one you most likely viewed on youtube.
It's by by the dude that helped create the modern fe 8 skill system.
The one by klok is old obsolete unbalanced hard to use version.
The one I linked is just a patch.

May I suggest you some setting btw?
-You have to set them when your star the game.
-Enable Limit classes so you don't have armor knight on mountains.

-Just put the randomize % to like 50-60.
Scout a few seeds to at least have a viable Seth/Eirika/Franz/Gilliam.
-If you are softlocked use the konami code.

By the time I got to my third run (Blue Lions) I found myself skipping all but the route exclusive cutscenes and powering through maps in part 1 using characters beefed up with stat points. My only incentive to do Silver Snow is to play with the Ashen Wolves once I get done with Cindered Shadows, but even so I don't think I wanna do another playthrough that's just VW with a different coat of paint.

And I'm definitely not playing CF again just for Jeritza.

don't forget the bullshit "reverse recruitment" hacks/patches.

Elibean Nights is alright.

Brainlets 101.

Maddening difficulty is not fun! Probably not leet enough but I just turtle everything.

I just started my first NG+ on FE3H, doing Blue Lions this time. Carrying over those professor points really trivializes the whole thing
Free money! Max out motivation every time! Go on 8 dates in a row! Stack those EXP multipliers!

Not that I mind, this is my second playthrough after all. Might as well coast through.

Yo take it slowly. FYI, Bow Knights and Wyverns are probably the best overall classes, with The PEgasus KNights and War Masters being of note. Gremories are a great catch-all for the female mages.

Felix is a great recruit to get and easy as fuck since you can rank swords fast.

Oh yeah I kinda want to just get NG+ into all modes and then make the ultimate NG+ into a maddening mode route.

Do people still play the 3DS versions of FE if you’re tired of the Switch version?
Started a recent play through of Echos. There are a lot of aspect of the game I still find annoying but I still think it has the best presentation in terms of character artwork and voice acting. The music is pretty dope too.

As for 3H I finished the Ashen Wolves DLC like a month ago and put the game down because I was completely burned out from it at that point. I'm still planning to do the Church route since it's the one I haven't done yet but I'll wait a bit.

By the way, who's good to recruit into the Blue Lions? I'm currently courting Lysithea, because I recruited her off the battlefield late in my last go-around and she was absurdly powerful.
And can you still get Flayn if you recruit someone, or is she the "default recruit"?
