Edeltards are worse through, they call anyone sexist for not being fans of her and sperg the fuck out in most discussions about her. For example: in the /feg/ on /vg/ board, there is an autist that makes mini-edelgard cutouts

Why can't people just like a character and accept that not everyone is going like said character instead of calling people names. How old are these people ? Anyway s right now I still on my first playthough with black eagles empire path and so far I enjoyed it so far the main problem I have with the game is difficulty its too easy for me.I probably choose golden deer next.

Damn that is really creepy but hardly the most autistic thing I have seen in this fandom.
Can someone point me to the direction of these rabid Edelgard fans I hear about? Because I have searched through reddit and I encountered only one or two threads of defenders. People tend to over exaggerate the prevalence of certain hot takes and think they are everywhere. Or think sites like 4Chan and gamefaqs are good indicators of fandoms.

God, it's one of the worst forced 4chan memes I've seen in ages. Tharjafag is less insufferable.

After release it was everywhere in the comment sections. She had tons of people who hated her too, but Edeltards were the ones who constantly brought it up at the slightest provocation.

Why are 4chan and gamefaqs not good indicators of fandoms? Is a pre-approved site of yours a good indicator of fandoms?

Gamefaqs is full of trolls. Nobody takes them seriously.

The hardcore Edelgard fans must have cooled down over time because outside of one or two isolated incidents I never ran into any of them.

To be fair, everyone's calmed down. The game's been out for a bit now, and there's not much more to talk about until the DLC comes out. Opinion has sort of seemingly equalized on all the lords, and I'd consider that a success from IS's perspective.

Who you like the least is going to be based on what route you played first and what fans ended up annoying you the most.

Not to mention, as people spent more time playing it resulted in there being a better understanding of the various stories. With people seeing what the other routes have to offer, it's a lot harder to say Edelgard did nothing wrong than when the game first dropped.

Uwu

We're getting Tokyo Mirage Sessions on the Switch!

Ramzaes has a pretty good analysis video about it

Fucking DQ11 demo and Astral Chain taking me away from completing all the FE3H routes, I'm still sitting near the beginning of Claude's route's timeskip portion and my continually building Fall backlog ain't helping anything

How is it? I get the impression that it's basically the closest we'll get to P5 on the Switch, so I wanna know if it plays good and if the characters are worth fawning over, because that shit's full price on the eshop right now, and I already pre-purchased Overwatch like the retard I am.

Plays good
Yes.

The characters are worth fawning over
No.

I’ve seen far, far more people complain about Edelgard defenders than the defenders themselves. And they are far more annoying than said defenders.

I'm getting tired of Edelgard defenders accusing people of not liking her because she's "a strong, independent woman with moral ambiguity."

Are we going to get into this discussion again fellas? I think this is a good indication of my point regarding there being nothing to talk about.

So, does anyone else think that they could have shown more of the Adrestian nobility? Because for all of Edgeguard's talk, the only ones who's actually shown was Ferdinand's father and her scheming uncle while everyone else was mentioned in the students' support conversations.

At least with some of the older games, we get a shot or two of who's plotting against you.

Semi related post about fire emblem but I post it for laughs

Stuff like this makes me wish I choose golden deer tho. (:_(

This is why I have always said, the vast majority of the Nintendo fandom lives under fucking rocks when it comes to video games and a large portion are also equivalent to disney star wars fans

They're like Muslims, soy infused muslims that always try and re-write history and facts.

Holy shit these people are nuts. I can’t tell what is or isn’t a joke anymore these days.
I love how self aware they are with the “your obsession with me is appalling.” line. Though it most likely wasn’t intentional.

I looked deeper into the Korean poll and now I can understand why they dislike Edelgard. Seems personal experiences and cultures shape the views people have on characters. I know many Rhea haters who despise the church route because they had bad personal experiences with organized religion or are highly critical of it.

3 Houses is literally just Final Fantasy Type Zero right down to the free time management.

Type Zero also had some SRPG battles on top of the free roam battles. it hit me while playing on why it felt so boring. There's also no over world to explore outside the school in 3 houses and unlike Type Zero I can't just break my characters right out of the gate to make them one shot everything. Maybe it will change once I get deeper into it, but the whole game just feels unremarkable. It's not like Xenoblade where it had layers to find shit and secrets and you had a large amount of freedom. Disgaea and Utawererumono had endless battles where you could just grind your party but I've yet to come across it in Fire Emblem.

And Fire Emblem certainly can't compare to Divinity Original Sin which is a paragon of the strategy genre and which properly used an open world to explore things and find secrets in an SRPG. I would say DOS2 gets close to HOMM3 in terms of nailing strategy combat perfectly.

Compared to Disgaea, Fire Emblem generally more appeals to autistic min-maxers who like having limited playtime (in this case the limited chapters with no postgame) and limited exp if you avoid grinding, which most long time FE players like to avoid grinding and making the most of that limited playtime as that is how Fire Emblem has been in most iterations. The key thing is limitation, that is why Conquest despite having the most pants on head exceptional story is considered the best game out of the Fates trilogy by several miles.

Disgaea wants you to break it and make you think doing 1 billion damage is nothing, because it is in Disgaea games, that is why Disgaea files can have hundreds to thousands of hours of grinding to do 800 trillion damage with Adell's Vulcan Blaze. Fire Emblem because it is more basic in terms of mechanics, it is more about positioning and moving to end chapters fast as your min maxing instead of playing for endgame stats. 3 houses doubled down on this by having incredibly accessible fliers because of the class system letting literally anyone be a flier and having utility gambits be obscenely powerful like stride or dance of the goddess to enable cheesy 1-3 turn clears. You'll never get the same experience as Disgaea playing Fire Emblem, the closest would be Awakening as you can make really stupid units in that game and grinding is easily accessible.
