I was waiting all Game for Seteth or Flayn to be able to turn into their Dragon forms (Seteth even has what seems to be a picture of Dragon Flayn in his office!), but they never did, and that made me sad :(.

If you played the Church route in 3H - play it at your own risk if you chose the Maddening difficulty, fuck that last chapter- Seteth will state outright he lost his dragon form completely and he can’t take it back. I think this was the only time he shared such information with Byleth.

Yeah I played through the Church route, but putting lore reasoning for it in-game doesn't make it any less sad to me that I can't play as Dragon units.

is there any fire emblem fans who hates pedophiles and aren't one? i felt pessimistic
Have not paid attention to FE in a while due to the last few games not feeling good to me, is it that bad? Also anyone have any interesting romhacks or something that they want to share their experiences with?
Thanks to persistent fans, they already made a counter measure and announced it right when Nintendo pulled the plug. With minor adjustments anyone can play online 3DS stuff no problem.

I just checked, Uprising is fully operational

Depends on what you want.

Engage is genuinely awful experience. It has no value as a 'so bad it's good' riff game like Fates, the tactical gameplay isn't better than Conquest or the GBA/Tellius games and it takes the worst parts of the 3H's monastery grind and doubles down on them. It's insulting as an anniversary game to boot.

I'm playing through 3H again right now, it's made me appreciate some of what it tried to do more but fundamentally I stick by my line that it's a new SRPG IP with Fire Emblem slapped onto it. It's would be a very strong start for a new SRPG IP, but its gameplay suffers from the opposite problem of Awakening in being too ambitious and cutting against itself in a bunch of small ways that can strip out a lot of the difficulty. Playing through Azure Moon again and the writing has aged reasonably well, but that's probably the only route that has and a lot of it is carried by Dimitri and some very solid voice acting.

Echoes is still pure SOVL. Expect Gaiden jank gameplay and the best OST IS has ever produced.

Conquest remains a great challenge and a great source of laughs. Haven't bothered to touch Birthright since the first time I finished it and you couldn't pay me to touch Revelation after putting in ~200 hours to get as many of the supports as possible back in 2016.

Replaying Awakening in 2022 for its 10 year anniversary made me appreciate it a lot more. It's gameplay is still definitely casual but looking through it with a more critical eye made me appreciate the clear passion the devs poured into it; it's an infinitely better anniversary/homage game than Engage.

All in all, of the seven mainline titles since Awakening (counting different versions of Fates), I would only recommend four of them, and two of them come with heavy asterisks.

Oh no I know how dogshit the latest FE games are, I meant if FE currently has a rampant pedophile problem like he implied.

Damn right, shame that because it was on a console at the end of its life and it had a pre-order DLC it never got the love it deserved, now the executives probably saw that as "remaking the older, Japanese exclusive games but actually making them way better unlike 99.9999% of other remakes isn't profitable so we're never doing it again.

I remember playing it because my brother lent me his copy after he finished it, beat the Golden Deer route, found out it was the best route by far (imho), dropped the game and never touched it again even after the DLC released. It was enjoyable for the most part, but not really something I'd replay multiple times like PoR, RD, the SNES and GB games.

I tried Revelation, could not finish it. Mostly due to a lack of time to finish it and just decided not to continue. I think it was the English patch rather than the official English translation. I'm glad I never got sucked into the "Rev better/Conq better" arguments, especially last year where more people than usual were going "actually Rev was not that bad." I say they both were meh and watch people shit themselves.
Awakening
While I didn't hate it, in fact I think it saved the franchise but at the cost of appealing to the lowest common denominator (or at least set up later titles to). I hate the precedent it set because it sent FE's quality into a free fall. Never forget, Engage is a descendent of Awakening's success. But eh, I'm probably just talking out my ass and acting like a grognard.

I am currently replaying Birthright for the anniversary sake, but with a romhack installed named Abyssal Bloodline. It was initially made to make BR Lunatic close enough to Conquest’s instead of being a snore fest, then he expanded to the other routes later.
It wasn’t a mere difficulty hack, he took some liberties such as giving Azure her signature lance and give Paragon to Mozu right from the get go.
So far I like what I see, sadly because I am doing an ironman run I lost bith Silas and Kaze and shit got a lot tougher… I will proceed until the end though. I will share my full review whenever I manage to beat it eventually.
I don’t think I will try his version of Conquest because the vanilla was solid enough as is. However I may consider replaying Revelation because according to the notes they did some interesting changes, the one that caught my interest was you can actually save Scarlet from her bullshit death by leveling her up once in her join chapter and change the story accordingly which is pretty neat.

There’s another difficulty hack for SoV which is basically the Lunatic mode. I will give it a shot most likely after we’re done with Fortune's Weave . Assuming it’s not delayed to 2027 or some shit.

Is that Pretendo? The loony troon run fan servers?

Yes, unfortunately they are the only ones who kept that shit alive. I hope someone can create an alternative server down the line but it’s highly unlikely.

Fucking Sylvain ruining the chance for an actual interesting character to win. 3Hfags coming in full force to shit on everything as usual.

30th anniversary of FE4 is in a couple months. If you're an FE fan there really isn't any excuse not to play it considering the wonders of emulation. It's firm but fair, and I enjoyed it enough to shill it often now. Which is more than I can say for a lot of games released of late.

Sylvain is an interesting character though? The BL cast are generally the strongest written of the 3H cast to begin with, and he's one of the more important.

If anything blame Fomortiis for cucking the Black Knight.

RIP the rumored FE4 anniversary remake. I like to think that IS cancelled it out of spite for being slipped in with the toothpaste chan leaks.

One of biggest problems with FE4 is major plot elements are either off screen or you have to look up external materials to appreciate it
The overall world? Read the manual
What truly happened with Lywen? You need to beat the game 10 fucking times or some shit to unlock an exclusive cutscene.
The 12 holy crusaders? You can only see them with all their glory in a fucking VHS - watch that shit after you beat FE4 for obvious reasons-. Speaking of which I find it funny they had no problem showing major FE4 spoilers in there, but a generic Orange armor knight???NIEN NIEN NIEN THAT IS A MAJOR SPOILER , CENSORE THAT SHIT RIGHT NOW.
I heard some interesting shit in the manga , i read the very first chapter and I got a major respect for Midir of all people. I need to continue reading it

I still love FE4. It’s sad we will never see a remake which is understandable, it’s not an easy task.

Tried to start a solo Dimitri run of 3H because I like the "he might be insane or ghosts might actually be real" thing, but then I remembered that the fucking monastery exists. It's a shame because Dimitri's insanity is one place where the writers were able to execute their idea as good as they sounds on paper.

Also Ingrid's voice actor sounds like a 35 year old office worker rather than a soldier or a put-upon noble heiress or whatever. I don't know why that bothers me as much as it does. I either like or tolerate basically all the rest of the series' voice acting aside Radiant Dawn.
