Pulling this off would require the game to have had much better writers.
i think it was lack of time. we already see that he's a little suspicious of rhea (and of course silver snow ending) so it totally could've happened. like a "in a world where crests aren't idolized nobody will want flayn's blood" type shit

Lazy = red flag
Short Hair = red flag
Suicidal = red flag
Short-lived = red flag
:P
Those aren't flags, those are character traits.

Red flag.

Do you understand now? It's real simple stuff.

3 Hopes is an Warriors spinoff that simplifies the plot of 3 Houses and shows off some important background characters
Ah. I'll probably just go to Engage after tbh, everything I've heard from IRL friends has said it isn't exactly great, and if it's just simplified bonus content, I don't know man.

On my gameplay I've passed the ball, 16 hours in now. The gameplay has definitely gotten tougher, despite me upgrading the shit out of my team. Pegasus knights are double edged swords, high damage, pass over terrain, but bows are actually effective.

I do like the side missions. Good story elements that lead to future interactions, pretty challenging, good loot, and good lord, the XP is real.

A stand out right now is Annette. Once she hit Warlock, she went from Zero to Hero real quickly, actually able to kill shit. Her character is also just the right combo of nervous and bubbly. Not waifu material for me, just like her.

Now Ingrid,

She's my cute Pegasus knight. Love her hard ass attitude, her side story, and her unfolding plot line. Seems like her relationship with her dad is complicated- almost marrying her to some bandit dude we killed the fuck out of. Can't wait to see where she goes

Yeeeaaaahhh, it's trash. Dimitri's route was the only reason I even bought it, stayed for Hubie. If you're really curious about what happens, though, watching cutscenes on YouTube won't hurt. Just prepare for cringe.

The fact IS/Nintendo rolled out Engage's DLC so fast made me lol. They really wanted to forget about Three Hopes, which I don't fault them for at all.

So Engage is good then? I know 3 hopes is ass, but if you're saying Engage got DLC, that says to me they gave it some extra love to make up for three hopes.

Over Three Hopes? I'm inclined to say yes, anime bs/cringe storyline aside. At least we all knew what we were getting into with Engage's trailer reveal. I wouldn't call Engage "good", but it's fun.

I was hoping you'd give Three Hopes a go. I wanted to read your impressions of it.

Edit: Bruh, when I mean they rolled out Engage's DLC quick, I mean quick. First thing I saw before the game release date was a trailer for Three Houses exclusive Emblem rings :story: .

I can do fun. And the bs animu storyline is part of the charm my guy lol.

With games, I need to get engrossed or it's just a waste of money for me. MAYBE if it's on sale, MAYBE.

3 Hopes is a lot like 3 Houses: the urge to play declines massively after all the routes are done. Which means it will get over 100 hours out of you.

It'd be coo if they drop the Three Houses gimmick and go full out, like with what Hyrule Warriors: Defintive Edition kinda did. Give up making some retarded "epic" alternative what-if story I'm going to skip anyway, up the fan service, and spice up the fighting animations/character intros. Use the abilities the player picks up from each class and make the antagonist use it against us or something like that. It'd make a difficulty like maddening especially fun in a Musou game.

I can't count the amount of times I've seen some supposed important antagonist noble or bandit in the quests and turns out it's some literally who in a generic class costume, deal out the usual amount of attacks you have to block or dodge, and boom, done.

Not to mention Claude’s route is significantly different, and probably the worst one out of the three even if the final boss and first half were good.
They should've shafted Claude to the sidelines, since they clearly don't know what to actually do with him as a main lord. Twice already they copy/pasted different routes from Black Eagles onto his.

Dimitri’s route is okay and Edelgard probably had the best route in Three Hopes.
Came for Dimitri, stayed for The Testicles of the Empire.

There's a couple of problems with that. One being they also gave Zelda the super serious Musou treatment with Age of Calamity already and it was, far as I remember, incredibly well received, which is probably what helped Three Hopes become a thing. The other problem is that they did, in fact, make a mostly mindless Musou before Three Hopes with Fire Emblem Warriors and nobody really liked that one.

There were complaints about the supposed false advertising (which I'm inclined to believe there was, with how they dropped the ball in a lot of moments in Hopes) in the trailers that didn't mention that AoC wasn't meant to be an actual prequel from BoTW's events and didn't even expand on the Champions further than what the memories provided. There was also some weird time travel shit that the devs incorporated out of nowhere.

It makes sense you mentioned that, though, and both the demos were mostly well received initially from fans (from comments and Tweets I read, anyway).

I'm aware of the first Fire Emblem Warriors; what I was thinking, since the devs already added a few improvements to familiar mechanics (i.e. the command units feature: the bots actually do something compared to what little I've played of the first FE Warriors), they could polish a lot of the combat animations, make each unique (and flashy) to a specific unit, and make each quest feel rewarding and not monotonous by not spamming the same antagonist types and NPC crowds coming at you.

There's a lot I've thought about Hopes (I've been playing it more times than I'd admit), but I can't necessarily articulate my thoughts properly as of right now.
