And I'm still believing that the supposedly leaked game is a Chinese Knockoff being paraded around by a constantly-wrong "leaker" trying to get people to celebrate her for finding this stupid shit. I have to, because the alternative is believing it and getting pissed off at how stupid Nintendo is for greenlighting this nonsense.

Just give until 6 months or for another leak to happen before you get emotionally invested in it.

Fire Emblem leaks are always dumb anyways. Every other leak is about how a remake is happening but no one can agree which game is being remade. some people with """insider information""" said that Tellius remakes were happening, others have said Genealogy. The only difference between pokemon leaks and FE leaks is at least pokemon leaks usually come with goofy art. Even if it's fake you at least have artwork.

  1. Leak 1 says the sky is green. Fans believe it.
  2. Leak 2 contradicts leak 1 and posits that the sky is red. Fans believe it.
  3. Leak 3 says that there is no sky at all. Fans believe it.
  4. Game comes out and the sky is blue. Fans complain about devs in the comment section of youtubers that have never gotten a single thing right.
Every time.

Honestly, I hope that the next remake is Genealogy, simply because remaking an international release is not as significant as remaking a game that never left Japan. Even discounting personal bias, it really gets me how so many FETubers go on and on about how we're just days away from the Direct announcing a Tellius remake, and then always act shocked when their hairbrained prediction falls through.

I just want a Tellius remake so Path of Radiance costs a normal price. That and I want to see twitter seethe at Shinon, remember when people shit themselves over Ingrid and Dedue's support? Imagine reading any of Shinon's supports or even just him telling the Greil Mercs to kiss his ass when he leaves. Shinon is best boy, would hate everyone equally again.

Shinon was a real barrel of fun, especially the part where he gets drunk off his ass and insults Ike to his face over the latter being knighted and made the leader of Crimea's army, including mocking Ike's relationship with Elincia, asserting that Ike was going to throw the Greil Mercenaries away now that he had professional soldiers under his command, and demanding that he change the name of the Company because Shinon still considered Ike an unworthy successor. Really solidifies his character as a bitter man who knows he's replaceable and lets the rest of the world know just how much they piss him off. Of course, then you have his relationship with Rolf, where Shinon trains the kid free of charge just for the chance that the apprentice may surpass the master.

Shinon is fun and interesting because he is a misanthrope which is a fairly uncommon archetype in games like this, likely because only extremely dense casts like in FE can afford to have them as they tend to be downers and negative by their nature so the typical 4-8 or so size casts don't want to deal with a bitter man like that constantly. It makes the whole discrimination in Tellius have a different layer when Shinon effectively realizes the entire world is out to get him in some way, so acting like beorc/humans are really any more his ally then subhumans/laguz is stupid. I can respect that position as at least it is consistent and is based on something so very real, especially in Begnion.

Shinon making legitimate friends with a laguz is also fun, like he did with Januff. I also found his buddy buddy relationship with Gatrie cute in a best bros kind of way considering Gatrie seems like someone Shinon would never like. Shinon feels like a guy you can actually know for the most part.

That price is absurd, but I still feel the same autistic point: at least it is legally obtainable in English. Playing Genealogy or Thracia stateside is entirely a game of emulation and patches due to Ninty not even having the decency to translate it for virtual console, especially as they go down hard on anything that remotely looks like a copyright infringement.

I don't really disagree, I just think the price is funny. I'd be fine with either duology getting their remakes because I loved the Tellius duology but I wouldn't mind playing Genealogy and Thracia 'properly' as iirc Thracia has/had some really spotty emulation for decades due to how fucked its coding is. Fucking Gaiden got a remake, so anything is possible.

Thracia emulation is fine the problem is that your choices for translation are: decent but incomplete and adds at least one game breaking bug (which hopefully can be circumvented in a really unintuitive way) or complete translation that adds some QoL like telling you a characters PCC, at the cost of the translation being a complete fanfic made by an actual tranny who loves stroking their ego by adding bibles explaining the lore behind the changes he made. I think there is a 3rd one that tries to undo the fanfiction of the 2nd translation but idk if that one is completed or not.

Oh yeah that's the problem, the translation patches fuck with spaghetti code or something. I read a really long written article about this uphill battle to get a proper EN patch for Tharcia for the last decade or so.

The long and short of it is remaking Tharcia is good so it can just be in English without fucking duct tape and "In America" memes. I know Reinhardt was a big meme during the early FEH days so their is something of a demand for FE4 and 5 if only just to see Reinhardt fuck people's asses with Dire Thunder. Plus it'll basically be 3H but better, probably, and that's always a nice thing as 3H has a decent set up but it pays off most of its story beats like fucking ass for various reasons.
