I wanted to talk about the Mekkah video a bit before the direct tomorrow as to not shit up the thread if an FE game actually gets announced.
Before that though, I really doubt there's much bad blood between Mangs and Cyan. I've seen Cyan comment on a number of Mangs' videos and streams in the past year or so, and back when Cyan was still streaming Mangs would always host him at the end of his stream if Cyan was streaming. I know he preferred not to talk about it, but it's understandable given that publicly supporting Mangs or even talking about him would get you a lot of shit in the FE youtube sphere, or even get people like Mekkah to refuse to work with you like he stated in his video. It seems more like to me they were actual friends and Cyan definitely supported him, even if he didn't do so extremely publicly. I doubt he'll weigh in on the video or any of the "current" drama. For that matter I really doubt any other FE person will either, unless I missed that on of them already did. It's a pretty big risk for people whos' channels are already on the decline, and I think they're at least smart enough after last time to reason that out.
Other than that, there were a couple excerpts from the doc I wanted to talk about specifically, because I couldn't stomach watching a whole fucking 2 hour video on it.
What Mekkah likes to leave out here is that some people on Fire Emblem Universe (the place where a lot of FE hacking discussion gets done and presumably where you can find Project Ember) started a petition to try and make Mangs give the money he would make off playing the hack to FEU. A petition which I believe at least one of the Project Ember devs signed. Basically, extorting him for money because he committed the awful crime of playing a romhack that people didn't want him to play. What really pisses me off the most about this is that the Project Ember Team, the people in FEU, and Mekkah himself all went out of their way to antagonize and vilify him for doing so. It's not like Mangs gloated to them that he was going to play it and there was nothing they could do about it. In fact, even though I don't think he liked it terribly much I remember him praising it in some areas and generally giving it a fair shake. Much more graciously than how they treated him for playing it in the first place. I think what they all should is realize that sometimes, people you don't like are going to play and in some cases, make videos on your games. Instead of whining and trying to extort money from them, you should instead simply graciously accept this inevitable outcome because you'll never be able to prevent and extort everyone you don't like from playing and making videos of your game. Not that you should try in the first place.
There's also a lot of moral grandstanding from Mekkah to try and convince people he only made this video "for the good of the community" and how great of a fucking guy he his by bringing up shit about he is still "willing to forgive" Mangs and the totally unrelated shit about the Project Ember fundraising stream he did. The kind of same shit he accuses Mangs of doing in his return video. But I guess it's okay when he does it, right? There's also some shit about Chaz and Deltre in it, but honestly I couldn't give much of a shit about them and I doubt they give much of a shit about the video either.
Again, sorry for shitting up the thread with such a long message, but I just wanted to air some of the most egregious shit in the video to me, and didn't want to do it later in case FE does actually get announced tomorrow. Here's hoping.

I find this almost pitiable, and I probably would had he just admitted this somehow with making a huge 2 hour video dredging up 2 year old drama. I cannot imagine how pathetic you have that bullshit drama in your head every day for almost 2 years, especially when you barely even took part of it in the first place and took the most milquetoast and passive stance out of anyone. This is just so ridiculous that it reeks of just fishing for sympathy, something that he accuses Mangs of doing multiple times in his return video. The aftermath of that day and night is that I come back to my decision making every time I’m not fully focused on something else. I take walks outside every day and my mind will constantly wander to these events.
I could go on and on with this but basically the context is that Mangs played some (in my opinion) shitty FE 6 rebalanced hack, the developers got pissed and tried to tell him to stop playing but had no legal ground to stand on given it's a hack using Intelligent Systems assets without permission, and then Mekkah sends him a whiny email saying that it would be the "right thing to do" to just stop playing the hack. Mangs then makes a public statement saying he's gonna play the fucking hack anyways because it's his channel and he's not even infringing on the hacks (non existent) copyright by making a let's play of it on his channel, and that we would donate whatever money he would make off of it to charity (to which I believe Mangs did eventually post the receipts of him doing so).In December 2020, he started a new Let’s Play series: Project Ember, a fan-made ROM hack ...The Project Ember developers are not happy about this.

Basically, Mekkah says here that he would be willing to make up with Mangs provided he feels like Mangs starts to "redeem" himself, which he feels is "owning inconsistencies, the lies, and the abusive acts". Or in other words, making ANOTHER fucking two hour long video addressing every single woman he happened to breathe on in his like 5 years of being a youtuber prior to being "cancelled". The thing is, Mangs did address the allegations from Goose, the only actually "terrible" act he committed in his video. He told his side, apologized for what he believed that he did (and not just what Goose thinks he did), and how he's planning to work on himself. What more could you fucking want? Yes, there were other women who came out with shit "against" Mangs but it all amounted to: "We had a relationship, it was consensual and I was of age, but I didn't like that it happened.". Do you really want him to address every single women who came out and said they regretted fucking around with him? Ridiculous. In my mind actions speak louder than words, and to my knowledge Mangs hasn't antagonized, sexually harassed, or otherwise made uncomfortable anyone in the community in the last two years. What more is there to do?I am sad that our years of working together ended like this, and I miss our friendship. If I felt like it was the right thing to do, if I felt like Mangs really properly redeemed himself, I would try to repair it today.
