I actually did meet one fandom fan before Awakening. She was a GBA era shipper, nice enough but about what you'd expect for the time. It's just that the games weren't big enough that I had to see the fandom, generally just people who might have played one or two of the games. My average encounter with someone who played Fire Emblem was something like "oh yeah I played one of those it was pretty fun" or "Advance Wars was pretty good, same guys right?".
Really funny that this happened because around the time when the drama had some months of being "over", a "fan" (child viewer) asked him on Twitter if he would make an onlyfans (this was because Ghast is narcissistic enough to post many shirtless pictures of him, with poor lightning so that we can't see how pitiful his "muscles" look). He literally admitted that he was not comfortable to do that because of his viewers, yo know, being mostly autistic teens and socially inept weirdos.
