A neat detail I like about Tiki's character development in awakening is how she actually likes sleeping unlike in fe1/3 because that's the only way she has to see her old friends again.
Also draco lolis are a mistake and even Kaga with all of his mind control fetishes knew it since they don't show up in none of the games he made after FE1/3 (TRS has dragon transforming girls but they are regular teenagers in terms of aging, and Vestaria Saga 2 straight up has a feral dragon as your "manakete")

I like all the different dragon forms she has in 3. But I don't really think about her loli version too much. As for her adult version, I don't like how her initial wariness of Robin is pretty much immediately dropped but it's understandable since she's technically a completely optional character and the game is rushed as is.

One of the (many imo) characters who has a much better support with FRobin than with MRobin.

Going back to TH and Hopes too. Something about these characters....I want to get all the supports I can this time. They're all charming and they wash the aftertaste of Engage out. I just have to figure out for each route which characters to recruit. I know Hilda can be recruited on the anti-edel route in a specific time frame.

If I recruit all wouldn't it be boring? The opponents i mean.

Dreading having to do Cindered Shadows again because fuck that final level.

It's triflingly easy if you just NG+ all the time.

As an Awakening baby, pay your tax. Never knew that, wtf?
Short version: GBA games do well in the West so Nintendo gives IS a big budget for a GameCube game. FE9 does okay enough for a sequel but FE10 was a disappointment. Most importantly it wasn’t bringing in new fans. FE11 and FE12 didn’t help at all. Nintendo was tired of IS’s shit, implied to them that FE13 would be the last one, so IS went all out on FE13 and it saved the franchise.

Remember when I said the GBA series was the lowest point? I take that back. The DS series was garbage. I think what also helped FE13 was the fact that it had a good marketing campaign coupled with being released early enough in the 3DS’s life to appeal to casuals (in addition to all the casual features which FE10 did not do and paid for it). I remember FE10 immediately getting the HARDEST FE OF ALL TIME OMG (debatable) label as soon as it came out.

That has merit to it because the western versions of FE10 had Normal Mode actually be Japanese Hard Mode which was decently difficult compared to other FE's normal modes.

If you wanted a normal mode experience you had to play on Easy.

Its pretty much the reverse of what happened with FE9 in the west.
In Japanese FE9 you had Normal, Hard and Maniac
In Western FE9 you had Easy, Normal and Hard.

I've finally played enough Gaiden to determine where I would rank it and I came to the conclusion that I think it's slightly better than Echoes.

How about you stop ranking the games and just play them faggot?

*FE4 is S-tier*

Ah yes, I know exactly what sort of retard you are. Go back to your Serenes Forest boomer hugbox. This is a serious FE discussion thread.

As much as I can see it, I hope replayability was scored because I'd rather the remake that has its difficulties available from the start instead of needing an input to even select it. FE1 and 2 have some horrid replayability the likes we didn't see again until FE9 and 10. The former two for their archaism, and the latter two for just how much more slow the Tellius games were (it feels so backwards when FE4 feels not only faster, but I can also play it without turning off animations, whereas with Tellius it's obligatory).

Back to Gaiden though, I appreciate its archaism over Echoes just for how broken the game was though. Definitely could cheese things in FE2 more than 15 lol.

Replayability was considered yeah, I just don't find either game particularly great for that. FE11 is so high specifically because it's probably my favorite game for fast replays. Gaiden just has a lot of mechanics that I find work better or are more fun to play around with in that game compared to Echoes, which comparatively mellowed things out a lot more. Infinite range Warp is a good example of this.

It gets easy if you stop caring and just kill people on Aelfric. Most of the other chapters also have an easy early chapter RNG fishing strategy that can invalidate the rest of the challenge as well. Makes chapter 6 much less of a pain.
What do you mean in the first part (its been forever since I played)
I think the boss has a barrier iirc. I think I used Yuri and Edel to break it. I remember enemies kept popping up everywhere it was crazy

I tried to get the Ashcleaver, but I couldn't grind up or boost Ariel enough to make taking it practical, especially since you're drowning in shit by the end of that level too. But I had a fixation ever since Chapter 9. To use my Fantastic Fred to mount Alexander's head on a pike and seize the Gladiolus, since doing that in Lunatic 8 seems like it's actually fucking impossible.
As far as regalia go, the only ones that require you to kill the wielder with a specific unit to get them early are Alexander's Gladiolus and Samuel's Rosethorn (with Fred and Christina/Theodor (with Samuel A support) respectively).

In chapter 11, if you kill Geoffrey, you will get the Ashcleaver regardless of who killed him as long as Ariel is in your party (you don't even need to deploy Ariel if you recruited her previously). And that's a good thing because in my Lunatic run (where I deliberately optimized my party for early regalia) I didn't use her at all, and instead killed Geoffrey with Aylanda aura crits and gave the axe to Garam.

As for the Gladiolus, I saw no real way to get it in chapter 9 either, but it becomes much more feasible in chapter 14. Unfortunately, I had to kill Caroline because her A support with Alex made him too hard to hit, but Garam (with the aforementioned Ashcleaver) whittled him down for my blessed Duke Knight Fred to kill him.

The trick for Alexander is that you need to rush the map, kill Beatrice, and get Sam down to low HP. Then instead of facing Alexander's entire squad, you target fire Alex down, finish him with Fred, then finish off Sam to end the map. Because Sam won't ever attack Cristina or Theodor on his turn, you can use them to block him until you're ready to kill him.

As proof, here are pics of me killing Alex and Sam in chapter 14 and my amazingly blessed units who did it. If anything, let this be a lesson that this is all luck and no skill.

Breaking the barrier isn't the hard part, it's that he gets vantage on his final health bar, he has counter attack, and outside of fishing for Dimitri crest procs, there isn't a unit who can blow up half of his HP in 1 go to avoid putting him in range of vantage. But since it's the final chapter and you presumably dislike at least one 1 main lord, you can just suicide on Aelfric for free chip towards the end.

He does have his summons but you either kill them instantly or he heals and you lose faster, so it becomes a non factor.

I consider Tiki to be a lolibait character so I send her to the front lines as bait but she doesn’t usually die.
Even though she meets most of the checkmarks, I think Kaga only made her 1000 to show how slowly Manakeets age, like Fae and Myrrh, and not "Its okay to fap to her because she's legal." (unlike Nowi)
