Fire Emblem series

I just beat Shadows of Valentia today.

It's easily my favorite out of the 3DS FE games. The voice acting is awesome and there's not a single character that's grating to the ears. The game gets pretty difficult over time, especially during post-game. I didn't realize that I skipped recruiting Atlas until after I completed Act 5.

I'm on the fence when it comes to the DLC. The season pass costs as much as the base game itself, and with all that's been announced for it, I feel it's overpriced. The only DLC I'm considering is the grinding levels to help with Act 6 and Hard Mode if I ever get around to doing it.

I used to be really into series starting with the three gba games up until Shadow Dragon DS, but sort of fell out of it at some point when I became less interested in mobile gaming. I don't know the more recent 3DS titles don't interest me for some reason. Between the otaku pandering and memeish translation it just rubs me the wrong way.

For some reason I downloaded Heroes, and wish I hadn't. Typical mtx bait bullshit with barely any substance. I don't know why I expected anything different. I don't think I'm finished with this franchise yet so I think I'll just jump into the SNES games and take it from there.

Now I wanna see a 3ds remake of Genealogy of the Holy War and Tharcia 776

Won't see them on the 3ds, more likely to happen on the Switch. There was an interview with one of the people behind SoV, and they stated that they were done with Fire Emblem on the 3ds. Which seeing as they ended the 3ds run with SoV, it was a damn good way to end the run of Fire Emblem games.

Haven't touched FE Heroes, mostly due to my disdain of the Gacha model. I did get some mileage out of it though, as a friend of mine gets to rage about critical hits existing in the main series but not in the spin off.

So I was going to make my own thread, but I found this one. So is anyone else looking forward to Three Houses?

So you're basically the headmaster (or headmistress if you feel like it) of an church-sponsored military academy who's training your students how to be knights and magicians. Plus, there's actually an in-game excuse for level grinding and reclassing. As far as I can tell, this looks promising for an series that was almost cancelled.

Too bad that they aren't showcasing any new playable classes yet...

Yeah, I'm down. I like raising games, so making it more obviously about raising is a plus for me. I'm wondering if they are going to ass pull another excuse to feature children from the future though.

Well, there's 3 main countries, political instability, several more "outsider" nations. Anything involving shipping could happen at this point, especially from the countries that's was run by an group of nobles and the one run by an single family for a millennium,

It seems to be a route split story and I really like the idea. I found Fates to be an ok game and I think as long as they don't do the same mistake Fates did (releasing a DLC golden path that defeats the entire purpose of having a route split) it's going to be great. They also ditched the ridiculous character design of Awakening and Fates and that's a major bonus for me. Between the toilet seat-wearing cavaliers and the bare-assed Nohrian females methinks someone at IS had a lot of repressed fantasies.

Also no more unlimited weapons, thank God. That shit was really poorly done in Fates.

I'm so excited for Three Houses. Hopefully they learned from their mistakes with Fire Emblem Msssage Pokemon-I mean Fates.

(Tbh the only good thing about Fates was Rena Strober. Hopefully she is voicing a character in TH)

Alright guys, the game is out now and shit really hits the fan after the timeskip.

How’s the new one somfar? I remember almost beating Sacred stones on the GBA, having Awakening not quite click, and getting annoyed eith Conquest for reasons that escape me. Weapons have set durability again, right? That’s pretty much all I know.

It'll be an while before I actually get the game. But going by Youtube, magic is initially shit, Combat Arts will chew through your weapon durability, and you can basically build your own army. The plot is supposed to be an wild ride, though.

Its fun, harder modes with perma death are actually enjoyable seeing as how you dont have to reset the game, weapon durability is cruel but balanced if you dont spam the good weapons like a retard on the low level goons, the story its retarded but enjoyable (expecially when your character goes full super saiyan) but otherwise its better than fates or awakening
You should buy it (or pirate it)

Everywhere around me is sold out. Amazon is sold out. I think this might be the first game in the franchise I have to buy digitally. What the hell is Nintendo doing?

I definitely regret not preordering. Looks like I'll have to check back later for when my local store restocks.

I preordered it, but I've not actually been able to get round to playing it.

YET.

I've been hearing good things so far at least.

From what I've seen, there's plenty of micromanaging to be done if you don't want to be raped later on in the game. But this shit doesn't reality start until the third month.

I don't really like the academy sections. I get that they wanted more Persona-bait to draw in the fujobeasts that play these games now, but they're kinda boring.
