another gil in the "EN localization fuckery ruins the story JP wants to tell" jar.
Okay let's be real here - the "story JP wants to tell" is more pro-diversity shounen slop. Kate and her troonhort might have gayed it up more than usual, but the core of DT's story was always going to be some level of pro-brown horseshit.

Hell, EW's patch series was bog standard "evil McBadGuy wants to destroy the world and genocide everyone, but now that we've defeated him he can be our new ally" shounen bullshit. Say what you will about Ishikawa and her lust for bishies, but she at least had the good sense to make Emet-Selch a narrative pariah and permanently banish him from the story even after he gets his pseudo-redemption. Meanwhile we're still fucking running around with Golbez and he's even participating in the latest MSQ.

Please give me any cope on why evercold could be good, because this was draining
They abruptly jettison woke lemutt in like 7.4 and 7.5 is a completely new thing.

Without spoiling too much, DT is almost completely irrelevant except for an object you pick up during the main DT MSQ and a villain who shows up in the post-DT MSQ. Stuff is happening in the background that immediately deprioritizes everything happening in Tural when it comes to a head at the end of 7.4. Also 7.5 basically confirms that we'll be shard hopping for the forseeable future so hopeufully no more gay filler adventures.

Tonight I start the final leg of the Dancer grind. I'm going to skip my Endwalker marks and start on my Dawntrail marks while sniping my Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrail tribe quests
You're a guy who plays dancer?
Gaaaaaaay.

I like being self sufficient in game so I craft all my own gear and stuff. It's nice to just zone out and listen to music while working on it.
Being an omnicrafter means I get to have this smug, entitled sense of superiority because I can just literally make whatever I want instead of spending a single gil.

the shit with the endless was boring, so I lost interest at the end
You shoulda been around when it was newly released.
Missed a whole autistic fucking debate about whether or not endless are even considered alive or not.
Then that fucking retarded bitch who posted on the forums claiming that shutting off living memory was tantamount to genocide because we were "killing" all the endless and she had a fucking cry about it.
It was funny.

Ishgard Restoration tarnished my smug sense of superiority now that everyone and their mother can skip all the way up to 80 with zero effort, and the last 20 levels is laughably easy. I mean, it wasn't exactly hard before, but it made it very approachable for people who were intimidated by the idea of having to actually work for something in game.

Cosmic Exploration is that, except you don't even have to bring your own mats, they give you a scaling mainhand tool for free that gets stronger as you do missions, the missions themselves scale to your level, and starting a mission is as easy as selecting it from the little onscreen widget.

I don't think it's really changed the amount of crafters though. Even with all the streamlining, getting all your tradeskill classes from 1-100 is still like a month or so of sustained gameplay assuming you play 4-5 hours a day and the overwhelming majority of the playerbase is incapable of it. Hence why the shared FATE vouchers sell for so much still even though it's a trivial grind you can do in a week while watching a movie or podcast. The majority of the players simply don't have the attention span or ability to delay gratification to make it work.

Levequests make leveling crafters/gatherers painless.

on my server, Ishgard did have a pretty huge impact. Raid gear and supplies pretty much took a 20-30% hit across the board because there were more people aggressively undercutting prices than there were prior to it being added.

Gatherers, definitely. Crafters you still have to provide your own supplies or pay out the nose on the marketboard. I know a lot of casual players who dread touching levequests for whatever reason, but stuff like Ishgard Restoration and Cosmic Exploration, they eat up.

It's not just about it being easy, it's about it being marketed and approachable.

It was hilarious in 7.4 when they did the whole song and dance about never seeing Wuk again, then hammered in the final nail in that coffin in 7.5 where all the scions comment they'll never come back to Tural but will totally miss the tacos.

I made bank making levequest leveling kits during Stormblood. Always nice to take advantage of people being lazy fucks.

It was funny how they still had to have Wuk Lamat around for the post DT MSQ stuff but realized she was such a widely-disliked character that she got way less screentime. Like it's night and day the amount of time the MSQ focuses on her starting in 7.1.

EDIT:

Speaking of troonshit, I guess at some point Sindalf (the legendary raidtroon whose group sorta cheated to get TEA world first) has finally decided to join the future 41% by trooning out.

Whose the troon in question and what do you mean by "they sorta cheated"? Whats the context?

It's so fucking funny how often Wuk Latroon will outright apologize in text to you for 'getting in the way' after 7.0 then does it again before being literally pulled off screen to go be irrelevant.

Re the dead Raidtranny - Rest in Piss, hope the view on the suicide bridge was nice.

After the disaster that was 7.1 it was also funny how Koana immediately was shoved into leader jail and never had a meaningful line of dialogue again.

Haven't played properly in months apart to log in to keep my house. Well I forgot to log in this month and even though I bid on the plot, I lost a 50/50 lotto. feels bad. Even though I don't play much as mentioned it still a bummer to lose a house that I had for years in a ward with all of my old FC mates.
:lossmanjack:

>That May 8th tweet
They say shit like this and then wonder why they're detested in all parts of the world and online spaces where the faggot mafia doesn't have influence.

Sindalf, who used to be a member of Thoughts Per Second which was the group that won the world first race to clear The Epic of Alexander (Ultimate).

During the fight, they used a mod to dynamically move their waymarkers around in order to more easily clear the mechanics and almost immediately after the WF concluded, Square-Enix made it so you could no longer move waymarkers during combat so a lot of people considered this clear to have been done via cheating (the raiders in Japan were especially pissed about it).

Like I said, "sorta." No one really cared about addons in WF until TEA (because that's around when people started streaming it heavily), but it's still a somewhat contentious thing and people still bring it up whenever Sindalf goes on one of his troon rants about how he's a raiding god.

And the troon has an Utawarerumono pfp too? aw, no....

Re crafting, I got through the levelling grind in EW and was briefly an omnicrafter/gatherer but lost the itch quickly. I think it's just my instinct in games, I've learnt throughout the years that having too much money in an RPG actively makes it less fun. So when I have too much, I always want to spend it. I could buy a house again and dump gil into furnishings, but then Yoshi P has you in his clutches...
