Kind of interested in those Gunbreaker changes and I guess Dark Knight still gets the red-headed stepchild treatment
The six cartridges is kind of interesting, but doesn't having Bloodfest just turn the job into Paladin - two buffs at 60 seconds, no need to manage cartridge usage? I know people complain about GNB having too many OGCDs, so repeating the Reign combo every 60 seconds helps a little, personally I never had an issue with that.
Pretty lame for what's supposed to be the DPS tank. I might be proven wrong when I play it, but just looking at it, it seems like the rotation is practically impossible to fail now.

Pretty much. Drifting isn't any issue any more now and you don't really need to track your carts any longer.
RDM now having it's melee combo being ranged every burst is just lame but was expected. A lot of Japanese raider have complained about RDM's short arms in M7S and I guess this is how SE fixed it.
It looks really lame tho, they changed nothing about the effects, its just your characters slashing the air and damage numbers popping up over the enemy.

Finished 7.4

It was actually really good! Wuk finally goes away within the first five minutes and we get a whole lot of Krile and her home town.
However I was not expceting Halmarut to be the Ascian behind it all. She is also shown outside of her robe and is an Aura girl. I think this might be the first time outside of Fandaniel where we see a sundered Ascian without their robe on? Though Fanadaniel was puppeteering a corpse so not sure if that counts. And Calyx now takes the form of a stuffed animal.

Also been playing merchant with omnicrafters selling the latest tome mats to them. Thankfully I maxed out my Heliometry tomes before they became obsolete which boosted the current tomes i got. Made some decent gil doing so.

I saw someone guess from Winterer actually! Halmarut is probably Demeter, and in Greek mythos winter came about because of Hades kidnapping her daughter so that'd align to a rogue Ascian faction.

EDIT: Might as well talk about how i felt about the patch. It was pretty fun, I'm glad we got to help lala town and finally got the Krile focus we were promised.

True, I know a lot of people were placing their bets on Deudaphon due to the lightning aspect or pashtarot because of the preservation name. But Halmarut makes sense now, especially if there’s a Hades/Emet connection to it.

Re: your question.

Emet-Selch?

I groaned when Wuk Lamat literally goes 'Sorry to interrupt...!' like 10 seconds into the first MSQ. Fuck spoilers, the stupid cunt was in screenshots in the teaser bits.

I really liked both the Arcadion and MSQ story. I dont know I feel about the Ascian being reduced into a sniveling Aura girl, maybe they'll pull a 180 and they'll turn her and Calyx into some anti-heros who get the Nero treatment eventaully. I really don't like Calyx in general and him being a fucking teddybear while funny it really shouldn't be if they want to take it seriously. On the Arcadion side I would have sighed that they brought an other dead character back, but turning the President into a good-guy-all-along made it made sence because he of course wouldn't have given strong enough souls to let Hector to die.

I've been lost in the rabbit hole of being a doctor in WWM so I'm super behind lol
Dunno where to even start with this patch

Surprised people liked the MSQ here. I guess my dislike of Lalafell is blinding me here, but it seemed like the most filler episode ever, the only thing of import was the final cutscene and even that felt weirdly Marvel-ish.
It is so funny that 95% of that patch is just spend in the last third of the new dungeon making the player run back and forth. They really had 0 interest in doing anything in Tural, it is all Solution 9 in the MSQ.

Doomtrain was okay, the Ex is a little annoying because of its super heavy use of stack-spread but fine either way. OC being not accessible because of a bug is par for the course at this point, nothing that isn't savage raiding gets any QA by the devs.

It was a step up and a good start so far but only time will tell if they keep up the momentum and improve the writing. As an aside a lot of people noticed G’raha’s voice sounds a lot different this patch and some are guessing if he might have been recast or if Johnathan Bailey was worn out from how busy he has been.

Just like Dawntrail, this patch's story was very backloaded.
I'm actually shocked they showed us Helmarut this early. I would've for sure thought they were gonna hide the Ascian till the very end. Also I KNEW Hydaelyn's death was going to be a hanging thread ever since it happened, and it seems like my personal prediction was right; Hydaelyn was the only person that actually kept up the barrier between Source and Reflection and without her (or some version of her) the rejoinings will happen naturally.

Both the MSQ and the Arcadion plotline were pleasant surprises.
I wish they had stuck their guns on killing Brute Bomber though. This is a me thing but I thought the story-telling in M7 was really strong, and it did a great job at being fun while shining a spotlight on the cultural flaws of Solution Nine/The Arcadion; a fighter having a psychotic break (with the lyrics clearly alluding to him intentionally committing to a murder/suicide against us) all while the management keeps the cameras rolling and even bleeps out swearwords to keep his death family friendly. It feels like they keep coming close to showing genuinely dark themes in Solution Nine and then pussying out at the last minute so they can keep it PG-12 Cyberpunk aesthetic.
And yeah, Gunbreaker now feels the same as Paladin with a slightly quicker invuln. FML.

Well that's what happens when you make an entire continent with zero actual conflict or interesting factions.
The closest you get are some mamool ja supremacists, but by the end of the first act they're all in on the kumbaya bullshit as well.
It wouldn't be so damaging if it was just relegated to a portion of Tural, but they decided the entire continent was going to have as much depth as a single member of the Eorzean Alliance

Maybe Tural was the filler arc all along. Also, I forgot there was new Gathering gear, meaning I can just skip the Crested clothes for the time being and give the Innovator's set to my retainers
