Both Hydaelyn and Zodiark COULD temper people the main reason they didn't (Or at least didn't often) is the same reason Shiva didn't, they're effectively Aether Gundams being piloted by Venat, Themis and Ysale respectively.

Unlike mosy primals where they're more like robots just doing what they're programed (IE: What the summoner things they SHOULD do) these ones have a level of self control.

Ah that channel. That video (the entire channel actually) was the product of the Trancer discord. They shilled their own videos, both on the OF forums, but also in their own discord and told their members to "give their videos engagement" (I.E. spam watch the videos on replay over and over to boost view numbers since every view from even a single IP counts as an extra view, as well as comment on each video to boost them in the algorithim).

They also were systematically deleting any comments disagreeing with them (hence why all their videos comments sections are nothing but echo chambers in full agreement with them), as Witch General here admits

Again, as I said in my original post, I've been away from the game for half a year(and don't really follow any ff14 subgroups regardless), so I'm not familiar with whoever the transer group is.

I can't help but notice though, that contrary to the usual farms culture of exhaustively inspecting every facet of a topic in search of lolcow behavior, venat defenders seem to be doing everything they can EXCEPT actually watching the video in question. If its so bad, it should be pretty easy to directly find what's bad about it instead of look for ways to discredit it indirectly. You could just link a timestamp and say "wow, look at these dipsticks, can you believe they actually said this?"

Its almost like, at some level, people are worried venat might be in the wrong and are afraid of actually being exposed to evidence...

I skimmed the transcript. I particularly like the bit where they said Venat was a eugenicist for splitting the Ancients up.
Then there's the problem with dynamis philosophically when half of the reason for the eradication of the Ancients is based on inherent characteristics, essentially saying as a race of people they were fundamentally wrong, biologically inadequate, and in need of non-consensual 'fixing' at the behest of someone else's judgment. The suggestion of the way they were born was innately inferior and using that as a means of justifying their extinction in favor of a 'superior' mankind - based in part on Venat’s interactions with one person who is exceptional among the sundered - becomes deeply concerning as the Sundering then becomes about eugenics.

The rest seems to be 1. murder is bad, 2. we should've been shown the alternatives she tried, 3. the writers gloss over her morally questionable behaviour to make her sympathetic.
I agree with these things, I am not listening to 2 hours of this shit though. I can't speak for others but I've said in the past I dislike Elpis' attempt to humanise the Ancients and Venat at all, and would much rather have left the whole thing mysterious. The main reason I give her a pass is that I wanted Endwalker to be fucking over and done with already, I don't care about the unsundered world or any of these boring "I heckin love soyence" metrosexual commies in robes. Fuck em got mine.

Should I be concerned that people are this invested about a fictional demigod (Ancients are practically walking demigods, let's not kid ourselves) doing demigod things?

I would tell them to touch grass, but I feel like they're very much long gone.
 
I know I said this before but I want to elaborate more on my thoughts.

Like I said before from what I’ve seen Trancers don’t actually care about the Ancients or the Unsundered world. They don’t care about the individual ancient characters, their world, lore, plot, etc. They only like the concept of an ancient master race of super humans. They’re mad because since patch 5.3 many of them were convinced that we would join the Ascians to genocide the “inferior” sundered races to bring back a master race utopia. They latched on to Emet in ShB not because he’s a compelling, well written character (at least by XIV’s writing standards in my opinion) but because they got a boner over him saying he doesn’t consider the sundered actual people. The entire plot and message of Shadowbringers and even Endwalker completely flew over their heads. It baffles me so badly how someone can go through ShB and come out with “we’re going to turn on our friends and allies with mass genocide and bring back the superior ancient master race of super humans.” Though yet again many were outed as Garlean simps who genuinely believe the empire did nothing wrong and think we should be able to side with them so I’m not surprised.

What’s interesting is that according to all the info I got from dumpster diving through the 4chan archives the discord server was full of both extreme right wingers alongside extreme left wingers. Also several of them are huge barafags who despise androgynous male characters so I’m surprised they would love the ancient characters so much considering how they look. But yet again they don’t care about the individual characters and if the ‘prettier” ones like Themis/Elidibus and Hythlodaeus were ordinary sundered characters they wouldn’t care about them.

I apologize for the autism, I’ve been a part of this community for over a decade and just as I thought I’ve seen every insane breed of XIV lolcow these guys pop up. Also I really do enjoy the ancient characters and lore alongside the Elpis stuff and Endwalker (I know a lot of people here don’t but that’s totally fine, I respect that.)
 
I mostly just hate how these retards hijacked Endwalker criticism with their retarded obsession with Venat, they took over the "Lackluster Story in Endwalker" thread on the OF forums (which originally was just the OP complaining about how Meteion is a lame and underwhelming villain let alone big bad for a 10 year story arc, the bad pacing, retarded time-travel shenanigans, etc. etc.) than became "Venat=Bad". Then the Trancer meme began with that stupid comic, which they all should've collectively admitted as cringe and gay from the beginning but they all decided to instead unironically praise it as "better than the EW we got" and they lost all credibility. Then they began their discord where they would perform gay ops everywhere in the name of Lord Zodiark, raiding the OF forums, raiding reddit, raiding 4chan, raiding youtube comments, raiding twitter, mass-brigading likes and dislikes, trying to dogpile anyone who disagreed with their autism-quest and mass-report them to get them banned, creating legions of sock-accounts on multiple websites just to create false consensus in their favor, etc.. All the while they completely destroyed the ability to actually criticize Endwalker and be taken seriously. Hell I've been called a Trancer in the past, because it got to a point where anyone who disliked EW was labeled a Trancer.

There were MANY things wrong with Endwalker, but one character doing something morally grey and unavoidable (which the story itself even stresses was morally grey and unavoidable) is not one of them. But it was the afformentioned gayops they performed across the web, and them ruining the ability to criticize Endwalker with their autistic antics, that really made me detest these trannies.
 
Talking seriously for just a moment, I don't get how you can have the whole premise of "Zodiark is an imperfect, unsustainable solution that literally requires human sacrifice and doesn't actually solve the looming crisis of the Endsinger, so I'm disrupting the status quo in an unavoidably catastrophic way for the potential of allowing the future generations the chance at finding the way to eventually solve the Endsinger problem. I'm going to make sure they have a Plan B in place as well in case this doesn't work out. Either way, mankind needs to put on its big boy pants for the first time in its existence or else face an inevitable extinction staring it in the face," and still go "BUT ZODIARK AND THE ASCIANS WERE RIGHT."

Like, if you think Sphene's plan is retarded, the Ascians were just another shade of the same retardation. I don't care that much for Venat either, but she at least took a measured risk for a better outcome instead of settling for ritualistic human sacrifice that was only delaying the inevitable.
