The dungeons are atrocious in heavensward. I like the overall story but from a gameplay standpoint it’s genuinely miserable to go back to. For all the problems people have with Stormblood, its dungeons were far better. Although I think shadowbringers was a big improvement over that as well. But I do like the aesthetics and music of shadowbringers more than Stormblood so that may contribute.

"Remember that we once lived", and "the rains have ceased, and we have been graced with another beautiful day" are the two lines holding up a huge amount of the praise XIV's writing gets. Aside from that, I think the MSQ is a perfect lesson in how great music can pull together an otherwise average story.

I couldn't get into Lucy Pyre after they popped up in a MisshapenChair video, because of the non-stop thirst trap nonsense, but I thought they were like a CodeMiko type.

That's wild.
 
I watched both videos and both of the creators behind them are equally obnoxious honestly with their bitchy ranting and insufferable voices. Thankfully the Lucy video had subtitles because the video would have been borderline unwatchable if I had to put up with that annoying vtuber voice the whole time. Many good points were made in it though. That said the DT simp video was far worse but thankfully there are people in the comments section clowning on it.

I don't care for Lucy Pyre but I've never seen any evidence it's a dude. I can't imagine a biological male putting on such a convincing female voice (I mean look at Sena Bryer) , even they're on hormones ontop of voice training. I have heard however she has a secretly onlyfans where she posts NSFW photos/videos of her IRL self which would contradict the "she's a man" theory but I have no evidence of said secret onlyfans either. I mean she DID start off as a FFXIV content creator which is already a massive red-flag for trannydom but still, I'm not buying that she's a he. And if she is she has the most convicingly female voice of any biological male in recorded human history.

EXTREMELY unpopular opinion, but I never did like the dungeons in Shadowbringers, and I'm not sure why. I've had fun with the dungeons in all of the other expansions, but I just couldn't really get into the Shb ones for whatever reason; music was great, but something about the rest of them just felt... dull.

Granted, part of it might've been the fact that I got spoiled on the entire Shb storyline beforehand, while I was able to go into all the other expansions more-or-less blind, so that could've played a part? I dunno.
 
I decided to give Summoner another go in hard content, having initially started as an ARC but moving to Scholar because of how painfully boring Summoner's rotation up to 90 is.
I'm the kind of guy who keeps every button on my hotbar (I have plenty of space anyway) I didn't even realise Physick is literally worse than useless above level 50 even in edge cases because of how it scales. Considering it's no longer the easy high DPS it was in Endwalker, I'm kind of insulted that they still can't take the time to upgrade Physick to a basic healing option, like RDM has with Vercure. Sad how the class made to represent ARR rising from the ashes is now both lobotomised and completely outclassed.

Don't Summoner and Scholar share EXP? I figured you could at least focus on leveling one, then just do the role quests for the other; would make things a bit easier.
 
So, I've yet to touch DT(not sure whether I ever will tbh, it looks miserable), and have been away from FF14 related things for like half a year. I just checked back into the thread, and was highlight scrolling, and saw these:

This is a very comprehensive video essay on the subject. It covers pretty much every angle(at least as of Endwalker, not sure if anything new has been released in DT that changes things). It's long, but high quality. I would encourage anyone interested in the topic of Venat's actions to check it out.

Physick scales off of Mind. It's the only non-healer heal that scales off of Mind. Clemency, despite being a GCD healing spell, scales off of Strength. Vercure? Intelligence. Curing Waltz? Dexterity. Oh, what's this? Summoner has a new thing called "Lux Solaris" that's a healing oGCD? What does it scale off of? FUCKING INTELLIGENCE!

Yeah, I said hard content. I finished levelling them ages ago because I quite enjoy Scholar. Doesn't excuse the fact that they re-designed Summoner, a beginner job, into one that may as well start at 90, and no selling points in hard content besides being the easy caster.

I particularly hate how levels 1-50 are based around getting elemental egis then at at level 58 you get Dreadwyrm Trance, like "hope you enjoyed that, your burst phase is now about spamming your basic attack over and over with nothing to fill it with, here's your new buttons at level 60 and 70, they're a single damaging OGCD each but don't worry, at level 80 they'll do something slightly different!!." Even as a sprout it fucked with my enjoyment of the job to suddenly view my egis as filler.

I'm sure Beastmaster is going to be an experiment to reintroduce pet mechanics though, r-right kiwis?
 
Honestly, I’m more bored of the Dawntrail bad videos than I am of Dawntrail actually being bad at this point. I’m just farming Sphene ex so I don’t have to pf it again.

I’m pretty sure this is the video channel ran by the Zodiark trancer discord server. The expose on 4chan exposed members of the server trying to brigade the channel to intentionally pump up the number of likes and views and supposedly deleting comments critical of the video.
