Reached 100 with culinarian and gotta say i feel a weird sense of accomplishment that i havent gotten with any of the other jobs. Will do master recipes in the future since i want to level up gatherers first. That said i decided to pick up Miner. Any advice on mining?

Maps are a decent source of gil whether or not you plan on actually doing them

You might be able to just unsync solo all of Eden. I know E4S has been solo'd on DRK
E8 is physically impossible to solo due to the intermission. If you don't want to deal with the queue I'd just drag your EB if you have one or some FC mates in and unsync it as a light party.

E4S was only possible to solo as DRK with some dumb luck (having the stack resolve before the spread multiple times) and more dumb luck (Fray/Esteem killing the Granite Gaol).
I still don't reccomend trying to solo savages beyond O4S (O12S if you're fully geared and can hypermit the limit cut). We were skipping Light Rampant (E8S) in 6.4 as a full party and Titan (E12S) in 6.4. Now we skip Shiva (E12S) and Basic Relativity (E12S P2).

Depending on market trends, either sell the current endgame map, the 60/80/90/Elpis one if you see that people are mass buying it because achievement hunters are doing a mass session, or the level 70 ones if you want a stable income (because of thief maps)

Any advice on mining?
Hit rocks. Gather shit.
Use Levequests to level up.
If you're in an FC that listens to you or have Company Credit permissions, ask to put Earth and Water on to boost EXP yield further.
Try to always have an EXP manual up unless you're already at level 90, they boost EXP by 75-150%.

Buy the scrip sets at level 70, 80, and 90. The level 60 scrip set isn't worth it due to being artifact armor.
Do your job quests. They give you gear (It's NQ but it doesn't matter) and the 2 most important skills ingame for resource collection, Increased GP Generation (shouldn't have to explain why) and Bountiful Yield 2 (On items that it gives +3 on, this is the highest Items per GP ratio on normal nodes.). It also lets you use a skill that instantly reveals hidden items for even easier map collection. Or Grade 2 Topsoil collection though that's not nearly as profitable.

BTW, since you seem to be one of the few kiwis here doing ults, how did you find your group? I found a mid-core savage static pretty easily but that static attempted progging DSR and it was a disastrophe (not the same group I got to dual dragons with). I've forgotten how I found my old hardcore static and I'm at a loss on how to do it again
All my current clears have been via PF. It's got it's upsides and downsides. The inconsistency means you'll either hit your prog point first try and absolutely smash through it, or you'll get people constantly memeing P1. Main issue with PF though is waiting for hours to maybe fill and the party falls apart in 3 pulls because someone's a retard who can't do a P2 mechanic in a P6 party.

For FRU, I found myself in a static that's kinda mid-level. It's not hardcore but we have set the goal to try and clear FRU before next patch and it's been mostly good. There's a mix skill levels and it really shows though. Myself and two others are what I consider to be "experience ult raiders" since we've got clears on multiple ults, including DSR/TOP, so we tend to be pretty consistent. Three others have only experience within UWU so I still regard them as newbies and you can see the consistency is much lower for those kinds of players. One guy is a total newbie to ult raiding but hits way above his weight (he's just real good at shit that he gets into, since he has a past at regional-level fighting game tournaments). Right now our biggest issue is one guy who has limited experience (one other ult iirc, and it's either UCOB or UWU) but is very overconfident and insists that if he had the right party, he could clear in a few pulls and keeps blaming everyone else.

Honestly, it's still better than PF. Sure, sometimes the prog can be bad. But I don't spend 6 hours waiting for a party that never fills. A static of players who have multiple ultimate experience would probably be so good, purely because those people are the types that can have 95%+ consistency on early phases.

Question 1: What patch did this guy start playing on?
Question 2: Do you know if he uses plugins beyond simple things like ACT and Pixel Perfect?

Unsure of when he started playing and don't know if he uses ACT/PP. Based on FFLogs, he's been savage raiding longer than me and seemingly started during Eden's Verse (so started in 5.2). Having his tomestone hidden is a bit of a warning sign imo.

He's capable. He's been playing for longer than I have for sure, but I've been playing at ult level more than he has and I know how different of a beast ults are compared to savages. Remaining consistent in 15-18 minute fights is a skill in itself.

Taking a break from 14 to play Monster Hunter Wilds so you guys won't see my beautiful forum pfp for a while.

Nice. Got the other 3 as well?
Not yet. Maybe I'll work on those now that I have no obligation to max level any specific job. Gunbreaker and Paladin shouldn't be too hard since they're both level 100 and I can just unsync spam to 200

Also, it seems I got Wondrous Scammed 40 times

O3N, takes around 100 seconds per run if geared in 7.05's crafted gear. Or join a party that's spamming it to have longer load times

Wait, War Panther? Not Battle Panther?

So, since DT is basically "Fuck All: The Expansion", I want to go ahead and post a topic for anyone curious:

What jobs do you guys hope to see in the future? Me, I'm interested in Green Mage; we got taunted with it plenty before DT came out, and I've been interested in getting a proper hammer job in the game for a while now - yes, I know Warrior has some hammers, but they're axe mains first - so it's at the top of my list currently. Aside from that, I'd like to see more Ranged jobs, like a crossbow user, and I know there's been some interest in a Musketeer job. Also, a new Pure Healer job; last one we got was Astrologian all the way back in Heavensward.

Any jobs you guys want to see?

Gambler. I know theres AST, but i want a offensive dps class center around poker cards. Time mage is another one i would like to see but idk how they would implement it.

Corsair, which was speculated as the new Scouting job before it was revealed to be Viper, is basically FFXI's version of Gambler. It'd be great as a roguish alternative for people who don't want to go full weeaboo, but sadly we won't see it for another decade going by the current pattern. It could wield a dagger/pistol combo, maybe labelled as "duelling arms," thus fitting with the established Scouting identity of being a melee/ranged hybrid, and pull out cards for special abilities.
If they have to add Gambler as a ranged DPS instead, maybe with throwing knives or some shit using wild cards to buff other players, I'd accept that as well.

Time Mage is already kind of represented by AST using Lightspeed/Gravity, so I doubt we'll see a full version that isn't limited. I agree it'd be nice to see a proper nature healer again.

I can't bring myself to care about whatever tank gets introduced in 8.0. For all Healers complain about their non-rotation, I think tanks are currently the worst-designed part of the trinity right now and it's going to take more than a cool flavor to make me look past another reskin of the same toolkit.

They need to stop adding jobs that don't meaningfully differentiate themselves from the existing roster beyond aesthetics, and they need to retool their game such that when a job actually breaks the mold - like how Picto interacts with downtime and intermissions - it doesn't wind up breaking the game comically wide open.

RPR and VPR just don't feel like worthwhile additions to the roster. The healers and tanks are painfully homogenized and it feels like there's really just two classes between them: tanks that press over or under 5 OCGDs in a minute; healers that have expediate and healers that don't. There's almost nothing to manage and very few ways to fuck up if you have two braincells. In the current mold, I just don't see the room for anything which couldn't just be a palette swap.
