Last night was my "I quit" moment.
After the 8th Chaotic farm party disbanding, even the ones from a discord specifically meant for this content, I got hit with the "Why am I wasting my life with this?" moment
Why am I playing something where my own enjoyment and progression is constantly held hostage by other people? Who wants to live like this?
Other games people can be shit but it generally only has minimal impact on your own personal enjoyment or progress. In 14 it's like holding a fucking cinderblock in a lake. I think ahead to the next patch, the next savages and what do I have to look forward to? another wall to smash my head against? Rolling the dice on people until I find some who have a fucking braincell just for them to disband and leave after one minor fucking inconvenience (both static or PF)? God I regret playing on NA.

Do not blame you on that. I'm going to give the next patch's Eureka-again-but-we-renamed it a shot because I like those and if it doesn't appeal I'm going to likely retire. This expansion has been a real drag. If I gave even the mildest shit about the glamours from the Chaotic set I'd likely be in the same spot but thankfully it looks like absolute garbage to me so I don't give a fuuuuuuck.

I mean, if people are really at the point of "I'm done forever with it," I would say that's around the time to think about the feasibility of a KF discord or even FC to organize with.

It remains the case that opsec concerns are easily dispensed - burner discord accounts and even making an entirely-new alt. Then again, since SE is retarded and is sending player-IDs clientside, I guess this does in theory expose your main. Maybe they'll stop doing that, one day. I suppose I don't really have enough attachment to the main / nothing exposed by it to particularly care. Apparently, I'm somehow one of the top-dogs for the Wicked Thunder normal BLM healing rankings. Do people really not press Manaward?
If you escape-spam through the cutscenes, it's actually fairly quick to level, particularly if there's a group of people plowing through the shit. I just don't see the average intelligence of the average player getting any better, particularly since it seems like veterans are quitting en-masse, and more importantly it's an opportunity to point and laugh at the shit-tastic player skill of your fellow members of this thread.
Of course, I also realize most people are done-for-a-bit, which is generally how I play anyways. Month-on, contempt for the playerbase grows too large, months-off.

They're missing out. There's nothing sweeter than completely ignoring a mechanic thanks to manaward. Or surecast. Or using the teleports to greed.
Shadow Lord in particular is a ton of fun with his 4 knockbacks in a row around the square - watching all the peons huddle up while you get to completely ignore the first two knockbacks to carry on with your blasting. Really, any ranged can do this, but I never saw anyone else figure it out in the handful of Jeuno runs I did.

The number of Brd, Mch, Dnc I have seen that never press Troubadour/Tactician/Shield Samba. The mentality of "I'm a DPS I no press buttan that not make number appear" is pervasive.

Besides the cheating and my busy schedule, the forced positivity in statics is what killed raiding for me.
Now I just pay people for completion or loot. I accepted the reality that me and my friends can never go back to the good ol days.
Same with melee. They have the defense and mobility to get even greedier and not be a burden to the party or even help the party but I never see them utilize any of it.

Even with a community as hugboxy and forced positivity filled as XIV's I always assume that anyone kicked out of a static, discord, etc. had a sperg out beforehand until proven otherwise. That goes for any game or community, really.
