It's still just recycled content, like the planet shit is just diadem and island paradise recycled.

Welcome to MMOs. They have repetitive gameplay loops and recycle a ton of assets.

I guess the question would be, what would you want the content to be? At the very least they're putting in different systems with the Occult Jobs so there's potential for something different.

PS: For the record Eureka lovers, I don't hate Eureka. I just vastly prefer Bozja. Unless you're a Pagos gremlin or BA gatekeeper. My hate for them burns with the firey passion of 1000 blazing suns.

Based. The Eureka lifers are losers.

I enjoyed Eureka. But it was more the community aspect that I enjoyed rather than the content itself.
It was nice talking to people and memeing and acting as a taxi for other players.

I have a couple alts I'd like to get caught up with so I could be in multiple statics at once, but I don't know if I have the strength to play through Dawntrail again. @Tari Are there any plugins that automatically skip all cutscenes and dialogue bubbles?

YesAlready and TextAdvance.
Unsure if cutscene skipper works for more than MSQ roulette cutscenes.

A degree of recyling is fine, but waiting for 6 months+ for purely recycled isn't great at all It's kinda of like how people enjoyed POTD and then HoH built on it and added an extra feature, but then nobody really did Orthos (comparitevly) because it took away previous add-on in favour of just adding another layer building on it, so it was just seen as meh.
Right now, I literally just see the Occult jobs as Lost actions with limitations.

what I'd WANT?

something like using the Occult Crescent as a Limited job playground, letting BLU into current content, and as a test bed for BST.
use the occult jobs like an experimental limited jobs, that can be used for future classes by experimenting and seeing what works in that environment where nobody is expecting balance. The subjob thing right now just feels like a nudgenudge hey remember when we had subjobs do you memba? i memba' when its just a reskin. Could I be wrong and there's more ot it unannounced? Maybe. But as it's been described so far, thats what I see.
I'd also add in 4 man Dungeons/Engagements to the content, or some other form of small party content, since thats what this game is lacking a lot of right now, smalls scale stuff to do with a small group of friends. Citeron's were a good baseline idea, much like Chaotic, but was just executed like ass.

Cosmic exploration?
I'm mostly fine with it being Island paradise 2.0 conceptually, but they havent really shown much to show thats it has changed any of the formula to it (i cant name a single person who liked Island paradise, yeah woo set your workshop schedule then come back in a week amazing!!), it'd probably benefit from having more than just gathering as the core, hirelings or retainers being able to be used to gather for you while you do the manufacturing or vice versa based on player preference?
Or just straight up take inspiration from Settlers of Kalgurr, where each exploration point you build up your own outpost and establish trade routes using spaceships and hiring NPC's to do manual labour that you can manage, leading onto...

I would of liked it to also be an FC workshop rework, Private/Shared Cosmic instances replacing the housing workshop and Spaceships being able to be used ontop of the airship/subs, with the materials being able to be gathered/crafted through cosmic exploration, and also a method allowing people who do not own their FC to have their own pocket-sized version of the workshops, expanding the availability of mechanics currently available to the general population, to the revolting unhoused masses. Maybe even using your own vessel as an apartment via captain quarters that you can expand in size through upgrades?

Just rough ideasguys, but it's like... at least it's actually expanding upon an idea, rather than just doing it all again.

I agree that 6+ months and subsisting off of what's essentially scraps is bad and SE really should have something available sooner, that said.

I think this comes down to it being content you don't enjoy vs it being a 'recycled.' I'd argue your suggestions were/are more of the same. The biggest complaint amongst casuals during EW was 'no field ops', which was probably second to whining about how the relic quests were an afterthought.

I don't really give a shit either way -- content is content -- but it was something the masses were/are clamoring for.

Also, the mobs in Orthos were overtuned as fuck and it makes the first 40 floors an utter chore to get through. Orthos itself was fun and interesting but the time investment to get there made it unfun.

Do we know literally anything about how they're functioning beyond vague examples? I skipped the LL cos I enjoy sleep but usually it's just Yoshi P showing vague slides.

I feel a lot of what you're talking about is being worked on, though. The issue is more with just the cadence rather than the content.

This content in particular is more than likely going to be closer to 7-9 months, since it's estimated for 7.25 since it'll include relics and due to 14's ever predictable patch cycle relics are always on x.x5's

Questionable.
Dependencies:
Text Advance (Advances the text)
VNavmesh (Facilitates movement)
Rotation Solver Reborn, Wrath Combo, or Boss Mod (Does combat quests)
AutoDuty (optional but will also automate the dungeons for you, this requires Boss Mod)
Notification Master (Not technically a dependency but you should install this if you aren't using AutoDuty so that you get a notification when it's time to do a dungeon.)

Currently level 27 in culinarian. It is surprisingly relaxing to sit and cook. It has opened me to another side of the game that being familiarizing myself with i gridents and whete to get them. As a self imposed rule, ill make each recipe atleast one by myself and then leave it to the macro. Currently in the firmament but havent interacted with it i stopped for the day.

Yep, that's pretty much how Crafting goes. It is a unique kind of enjoyable autism.

why do i subject myself to this out of sheer boredom

I must be extremely lucky because the only time I’ve ever dealt with sex pests in this game was one dude in 1.0 who quit before ARR launched. Final Fantasy 11 also had a ton of creepers and degenerates during the height of its popularity and that was long before widespread social media and elaborate sex mods. Yet again I also avoid Crystal and the usual places like the plague.

1 bare male chest
no bare female chests or futa dicks but i would honestly have preferred that to the earrape music
You tuned into the DJ stream to boot?

At that point, you really are just opting for misery.

You know I genuinely wonder if people would be defending Dawntrail and Wuk as hard if her VA was a cis woman.
If anything, they would be shitting on XIV further for not using trans voice actors.

You know, now that I mention it, this really does just set up a losing situation for the game going forward. Never bring back Sena Bryer again and everyone will be pissed at XIV, and if the devs should ever toe the line again, it will never be good enough. Keep doubling down on the retarded, half-assed diversity shit and the game will probably bleed more of its playerbase.

I'm willing to bet, in the dev team's grandstanding, we might just see another notable return of the "hardcore raid" people being upset – and for more sympathetic reasons this time around. Something of a response of "Instead of all this inclusivity nonsense, can we please just get some fucking gameplay content for us?"

On that note, I'm gonna be honest here, even if its coming from a casual perspective: Is there even an appeal for the newest Ultimates at this point? TOP felt like it passed by like a fart in the wind, and maybe it's just the fact that I keep my nose out of the XIV community these days, but I don't see much of anything about FRU.

Ultimates don't mean anything anymore on a large scale. There are some few people who legitimately enjoy the challenge and do the content with that in mind for personal fulfillment.
But at the end of the day, most people who run ultimates can't even do the content without a bunch of help while touting themselves as these incredible players who somehow still manage to get themselves pounded into the dirt by a casual boss or raid. Seeing Ultimate Legends has become synonymous with the same kind of dread you feel when you see a burger king crown. There is no official world race because everyone cheats. Most every Ultimate Legend became one by cheating and the scene is so rife with stigma that the players who do actually earn those achievements purely the intended way are completely swallowed by the endless sea of tool users because there is no way to actually be able to tell between those who climbed their way to the top and those who just paid to get a ride there.

Yoshi is huffing copium if he thinks people will stop cheating through encounters his team spends several months developing. Either he has to accept that it happens and continue the work for the sake of the people who do engage with it in good faith even if a vast majority don't, or give up entirely and not bother wasting time and resources into something that's been rendered nigh meaningless by the section of the community that it was specifically made for to begin with.

Ultimates definitely don't mean much anymore, especially when RP and gposing fags can organize loose statics together and clear them like they're nothing, like what I saw was happening before Dawntrail.

I just remember when UWU and UCOB were notable. I remember when TEA was the hot shit, even with people paying for clears. I remember when DSR was kind of a big deal for a while there. I barely remember much coming out of TOP other than that one incident where a WF fag or something got caught out on using zoomhacks, and, like I said, I haven't heard a damn thing about FRU.

It's really not a pretty scene.

The luster they had is gone.
It doesn't matter how many dickheads you see on twitch or youtube going on and on and on about how great the fights are and how well designed they are. It doesn't erase that almost all of them circumvented around mechanics using tools despite the fights being tailor made to be cleared without them. It really says a lot that Yoshi's QA team can clear ultimates the intended way yet the majority of people who engage in that content like self fellating themselves with their unearned vainglory when everyone knows that they cheated.
It baffles me how a lot of them try to justify this with the flimsy argument that it's okay because everyone else does it. That is the most retarded defense you can hear for this. I'd rather someone just own that they're a cheat and stop pretending like they're swallowing their pride and biting some invisible bullet. You wanna be a cheater, fine. But don't sit on an imaginary high horse while doing it.
