I got kicked from the copied factory so I’m a bit mati. It’s because I was using lb’s, and when I asked what an lb was, rather than explaining I got kicked. So that’s a lot of fun. I had to look it up to figure out that it’s a limit break.

Don't worry, I've gotten shit for daring to use range/caster LBs on trash mobs during regular duties, people in alliance raids just like having those 3 bars sit in case everyone in the party has a collective brain fart (very common) and a healer has to clutch LB3 everyone.

Losing their shit over this in copied factory is hilarious tough, it could at least be something to keep in mind for raid 3 of the nier series since there's a few bosses there that can be tough if your party eats crayons.

Sounds like you got a run of bad luck. In my experience, unless you are a tank or healer spamming limit break 1 just so you can't use it for anything people don't even remember that you have it in alliance raid. And even then you'd have to be clearly ignoring chat when people ask you to stop. As long as any DPS is using limit break it's fine. Melee is prefered because it does the most damage, but you can use it on casters/ranged in dungeons or alliance raids during really big trash pulls because the aoe damage will be greater than or equal to the damage a melee would on a boss. As already said you can save LB3 for healers because only at level 3 does it res the entire party. If everyone dies you can get a second chance without having to restart. In Alliance raid though this is almost never necessary because any healer from any other party can res your group's healers. Tank LB is just straight up pointless outside of very specific savage and ultimate raids that require it.

I will say that I’m having a lot more fun now that I’ve caught up with the msq. Now I’m just doing raids and thinking of leveling up some classes. Overall more fun to just dick around.

I've been trying to get myself to want to play FFXIV again, quite hard. Listening to OSTs on Spotify, combing through unread conversations about it, reading the official forum for lols... it's just so damn hard. The community has always been decimated because of troons, but I reached my breaking point with them, to the point that I unsubscribed at the time despite owning a house. The FC I was in seems to have gotten infiltrated by them, unsurprisingly because they banned talk of Hogwarts Legacy when it first came out (regardless of the people there who did like it).

Probably will return still for Dawntrail's new Jobs, but man, I hate the idea of FC hunting again.

I’ll probably sub again when dawntrail releases, do the msq and echoes of vana’diel raid series, maybe try out the new viper job, and then fuck right off until the next expansion.

Mining/Botany is a lot more fun early on, in my opinion, because they keep the nodes reasonably clustered together. Each node didn't require you to mount up every single time and spend more time traveling between them than actually mining. I'm not sure if this was done to slow how quickly materials were harvested, or if it was an attempt to counter botting but it's been successful at neither. You can gather mats faster than ever before now that you don't rely on rng to get HQ ingredients and have really powerful skills to triple what you gather.

The real valuable stuff is in gathering maps, and legendary nodes which are limited to one and time gated, so I'm extra confused why SE wants to make mass farming basic mats so painful. Haven't done it seriously in a while but hunting node timers can actually be pretty fun. It's just not profitable right now because why invest in end game mats when Dawntrail's around the corner?

So i got kicked out from a dungeon because i dared to tell the tank(which was a sprout) to not be afraid to pull more, you know to reinforce the tank, maybe motivate him. The the bk crown faggot in the party went on a tangent about how i was telling the sprout how to play and that maybe the tank just wants to enjoy the dungeon at his pace(which is cool) then i reply "okay" and that seemed to set him off because he wrote another paragraph and i just replied with "if the tank has a problem, he can always type" which prompted the bk crown to stand "afk" which he was convincing the group to dismiss me in their dm's. Now i personally feel that i didn't do anything bad and i will die on that hill. I was reminded of why people just stick with "o/" and keep on their day. Finally i dont mind helping people in the game, but sometimes shit like this happens and it makes me wanna go through the screen and choke them.
 
For anyone thinking this absolute disaster path of XIV is changing course any time soon there’s this.

Don't talk with BK crowns, don't interact with BK crowns.

You should only passively dismiss them whenever they fuck up by saying "please be patient they have a BK crown".

It's sad that with the state the game is in these are the questions people are asking. Not when are you going to make fighting, which is about 80% what you do in the game, fun again. Not, will we get a more sustainable option to collecting glams instead of constantly trying to extend the poor system we already have. No one's asking about story and why Endwalker was such a half ass job. What about new systems that aren't just more of what we already have? It's sad that redditors have taken over the game, and they love how shit it is. At least WoW players can tell you it's shit but they live with it.

No one will ever ask about the story, because the FFXIV community genuinely believes there is absolutely nothing wrong with the story and it is literally the greatest piece of fiction in existence. Now I do think heavensward and Shadowbringers have good writing, but other than that FFXIV has been pretty mediocre in that department. Tell that to the tranny community though and they’ll crucify you.
 
I usually just play whenever I feel like and disregard anything else.

That being said, I haven't played in a while because nothing of interest is left for me to do. I could go and grind the DOH/DOL tools but with the time gate and how fucking tedious expert recipies are, I don't feel like it. I walk in every now again to keep my house. Lately I've been playing BH3 and a bit of MHW and Path Of Exile.
