So after a long time, i got to finish endwalker and i would like to share my experience with the game as someone who basically got "late into things"

My class: Red Mage
Race: Lalafell(I'm saying this because it will be relevant)

So for starters i got into Ff14 through the free trial when they had added heavensward to it. Been playing on and off. Quick summary with each expansion:
Base RR: Fuck that shit
Heavensward: Enjoyable made try out tank with Dark Knight(the class quest is my favorite so far)
Stormblood: Weeb expansion, only thing i enjoyed was my nibba Zenos
Shadowbringer: i liked it although, the pacing for me suffered at times.
Endwalker: The story was interesting and for me it was a rather rollercoaster of an expansion, haven't started the alliance raids at the time of this writing.

Overall the game is fun and serves as a little routine for me. Played the game at my own pace and at time i would get distracted by side content and i would ignore the main quest for days at a time. People were mostly helpful and even gave me pointers for my class and they were pretty chill, mind you most advice came from non-bk crowns aka Mentors(some were cool enough to help me), since there were times where i would directly ask them and they would just say "look it up on google" or ignore me. Which takes me to the point that socializing in this game, a MMO mind you, is horrid half of the time. There were times where sprouts or ppl in general were doing something wrong or didn't know a mechanic and i would tell them, very politely how to do X mechanic and they would reply with either "dont tell me how to do things" or "Dont tell me how to play my class" which doesnt incentivize people to interact and just keep thing to "0/" and that's it .I occasionally npc and go afk because I'm taking a break or I'm doing something and occasionally i get very fucking weird dm's or invitations to rp fc/groups and since im a Lalafell, degens in the game will be attracted to them. Side content in the game is a perfect distraction and serve to break the monotony at times. I enjoy doing relic weapons especially the gunnhildr ones. The Life classes are pretty interesting to me since you get to engage with the game in a way other than "go there fight" currently doing blacksmith and i sometimes just like to find a spot and just start smiting away. As for doing raids/dungeons/trials etc. I had a buddy helping me with the raids and it made the experience more bearable and fun. As for the classes, i haven't leveled all of them to 90 and honestly i dont see myself in the near future doing so which means no Bk-crown if i ever was to chase that hollow title known as Mentors.

Also RP is fucking cringe and TTD.

Didn't see anyone post this yet but it appears Susan has been officially removed from all upcoming Distant Worlds concerts. I can't get over these euphemisms they keep coming up with, "unforeseen circumstances" "this difficult time" "a troubling day" etc. like Pearl Harbor just got bombed or something when all she did was click the like button on twitter a few times. Troons really are subhuman trash who just want to make the world as ugly and miserable as they are.

And then troons wonder why no one likes them.

Anyone happen to know when the collab with FFXVI is supposed to end? I was planning on renewing my sub soon to try and play it; anyone know when the end date is?

Really? My bad; I thought it started on the same day patch 6.51 dropped, Oct. 31st.

Any idea when it does drop?
I don't think they've said yet.

The servers would be overloaded if it was running right now, since we currently have both the Halloween and Fall Guys events running at the same time.

I love XIV, have for quite awhile and I doubt anything could change that for the long-term. The whole FF franchise means a great deal to me, in fact.

Even if the sweeping majority of the cancer is contained to Twitter (and Crystal RP groups I've never engaged in myself), most of this cancer is on NA's playerbase. Shen for example is German, but she's a Crystalfag and almost exclusively engages with NA. The worst part for me is they always act like they can't stand the game they apparently like, and the people behind it.

The idea of being around or potentially involved with reptilians like this got so unbearable that I just up and transferred to an EU server (most of my friends are on there anyway, not a hard choice) and I haven't dealt with even half of the cancer since. Nobody trying to start shit in Shout, nobody acting like a passive-aggressive cunt when sprouts aren't meta gods or the other way around, strangely more Elezen and Moonkeepers, nicer variety in glams (though the unending 2B dress and bikini glams still have presence like always).
There's definitely some trace of cancer somewhere that I just haven't seen yet, and I occasionally get groups in Roulettes that just jumblesmash their keyboard and call it a day- but I'd rather that than going back to Crystal. Never again.

I'm just glad that most of these faggots will never touch another game in the franchise, outside of maybe VII. IX and X mean too much to me, man.

There's more datacenters than just Crystal in North America.

I know, it's hard to conceptualize considering the vast majority of drama comes from Crystal.

Shitstirrers in this game (offline and online) are either from Aether or Crystal, almost every time. I don't know if there's a designated fag central on EU quite like Balmung or Faerie, but I wouldn't be surprised if a spot like Zodiark or Lich had their own types of drama.
I did try playing an alt out of curiosity on Primal, and my experience was decent. Aether was less chatty when I visited, but I definitely saw people like this.

My situation's pretty specific, I already had friends from EU playing so off I went. Otherwise I would've gone with a spot like Lamia or Exodus.

Aether's died down since the streamertide finally died down, and I mean, Faerie has always been the designated LGBTQ+ server even before the Crystal split, so it's pretty much expected at this point that some drama tends to come from there. (But no seriously, it's hilarious that the faggots choose a server called "Faerie" to congregate around despite bitching constantly about "slurs".)

Nobody cares about Primal, but bits of drama sometimes pop up there given how people specifically go to Primal to escape drama – particularly the people who cause drama in the first place.

Aether is where a lot of hardcore raiders tend to go to as well as streamers which makes logging in impossible during a major patch because para-social dents have to follow their streamer everywhere.

It's not impossible, it just takes maybe 2 minutes longer, especially now that most streamers have fucked off.

And you should never play day 1 of anything new anyway.

Can't say I've ever experienced this issue. I have characters on different data centers and I can say that, at least on NA, I haven't experienced login issues since maybe early days of ShB? It seems they finally figured out how to manage their traffic, or traffic is so much lower that it doesn't jam.

I'm on Primal and it's fine there. Haven't done any serious hardcore raiding since TEA though.

Dynamis are the niggers of data centers, not even mentioned.

We don't have drama, because you can't start slapfights with tumbleweeds.

You could even hang out in Limsa and get 0 whispers, and if anyone bothers you the Yellowjacket Marauder will axe them to leave.

I know a couple of fags who ran off to Dynamis.

And one who switched to Dynamis purely to make money. That one's alright.

Going to Dynamis was the best choice I ever made.
I got a house, no weirdos whisper me there and the PF is laughably full of people just memeing.

Only downside is that Dynamis is basically the exile DC. People who are kicked out of communities and blacklisted as well as just being general pieces of shit just run away to Dynamis to avoid accountability. That and having to DC travel to queue, but switching is so fast, it takes less than a minute.

Kind of the point, I think. It's the quarantine DC for shitters who are just self-aware enough to realize they need to self-exile.

Except for maybe a small handful of people who know how to make the most of Dynamis.

i. e. Me.
Worst I've had to deal with are FC fags who copy paste their "do you want to be in an FC" at me, but blacklisting them just fixes it.

Doing story content is amazing because I don't have to suffer any lag or any queue times. NPCs aren't completely drowned in other players so I can actually find them.

Like the Fall Guys collab. Instant queue with a full room each time on Dynamis. Any other DC? Unless I was in a premade, I'd be waiting 15min and even longer during peak hours.

Edit: Also, good to be back. I missed you faglords. 🍹

Good to have you back (even though I was also gone for a while there). Was wondering where you went when I wasn't seeing you pop up in recent replies.

Honestly the only things that are keeping me from moving to Dynamis are my private FC and housing, and the fact that I know some vapid cunt I previously associated with who also jumped ship to Dynamis and I wouldn't want to end up in the same queues as her.
