Ignore them, or at the very least allow people to say what they want more. Quit babying the "community" and ban any FCs obviously advertising "18+ whateverclub". I promise you this would significantly improve things.

However this will not happen. A good chunk of FF14 fans if not FF/SE fans in general are troons or allies of said troons. SE would probably lose a decent chunk of their playerbase. I would say good, let them leave, makes things way better. Obviously they wouldn't see it that way.

Stuff like this is a large part of why I dropped the game.

That and while I appreciate the goal of trying to clean up the game to make it more accessible and give more customization to everyone for everything, Eorzea doesn't feel like a consistent world anymore.

Its jarring to me, probably because I'm a bit of a boomer in terms of MMORPGs, but coming from Everquest, Everquest 2, and Star Wars Galaxies, when you play those games, everything you see looks like it belongs in the world that it's in.

In FF14 though, every facet of the game and its fantasy is constantly broken by some inane shit. If I walk down the streets of Ul'Dah I'm going to see people in Bikinis, Blue jeans, High Tech Suits of Armor, Medieval Armor, Cosplay of other FF characters, Neir Automata clothing. Worse yet, I'll see all these same exact things in my final fight with Emet Selch for the fate of the first. Its fucking jarring.

I think it doesn't help that I've always enjoyed Roleplay (Old school Roleplay, not this new DJ shit or super ERP focused shit they do today) and when something takes me out of the setting its just hard to buy it. It has completely stopped making me give a fuck about the story or setting because the other people I experience it with look like they don't belong.

The fantasy of Final Fantasy 14 is broken at this point and even if they get rid of all the sexual degens, leftist spergs, and twitter refugees, you cannot fix how broken its become.
 
The problem is that XIV has become a single player virtual novel that moonlights as second life and it’s currently dominated by the nightclubs and the troons doing their weird gross shit openly. It is breeding grounds for incel troons with their politically correct misogyny, one of my previous friend groups alone has had more people transition than I could even imagine. Marriages and kids lives blown up because they want to wear their wives underwear and post porn sick modded screenshots of their character on twitter getting gangbanged while wearing collars that say “slut” etc and get thirsted over by other troons.

Doesn't help that the devs decided to combine two expansions into one; as I mentioned earlier, EW was supposed to be split into two expansions, the first focusing on the invasion of Garlemald, the second focusing on the Final Days. Unfortunately, the devs got worried that people might get burned out on the story too soon, so they just decided to crowbar everything into one expansion.

I think we got details mixed up. Player feedback said the story was dark so the writers want to write something more uplifting. Then there's the part where want to move on from another war story because they think the world is at each other's throats thanks to covid.

Obviously a good while before that delay was announced, but in tidying up the rewrite probably found they needed a bit more time for polish on the quickly-shoveled-in replacement.

SE can ban mods and the most of the trannies will fuck off because they can no longer erp with their horsecock futa lizards and practice their grooming techniques on lalafells. Slap a file integrity check at game launch and if it detects modified files just refuse to continue is the most bare minimum thing they can do without going into the whole anti-cheat/drm weeds.

As an added bonus that won't block things like ACT or various plugins because they all operate in memory.

Mods already don't need file replacement. Penumbra doesn't touch game files. You don't even need to restart the game.
 
Penumbra does more than just ERP mods too. It's how I get Material UI, and can change out the waymarks to be more readable instead of the weird G looking waymark by default. I used it for Eureka to mark bunny chest locations on the map instead of needing to have it on a second screen. It's not vital but I would be a bit sad if it were gone. I can live without it but there are so many plugins I use that the game feels almost unplayable without. Just being able to skip the million of fucking confirmation windows the game has is a godsend.

Just to add on, I think the 'triggering' shit was the SGE icon being changed cos of some weird hole phobia (or whatever) that is common in Glorious Nippon. They had to do a super quick change there.

XIV has always more or less been treated like as a Second Life/IMVU substitute for a lot of people. Back in the 2.x days, my former friends frequently attested how there's a large majority of the playerbase that installs the game and pays a sub to basically treat XIV like a virtual chatroom.

Not saying that justifies the fact that people do this, mind you. Just that this has always been a problem from the very beginning. The rest you're definitely spot on about: Nightclubs and degenerate troons have been allowed to run rampant among the playerbase as of fairly recently, and there's a case to be made for how the "nightclub" scene has basically helped propagate the issue of RMT. Because you can't tell me there's any way in hell people aren't buying gil in order to pay most of these nightclub venues their exorbitant prices for roleplay food and drink, as well as "sexual" services that basically just amounts to low effort ERP with maybe some modded gposing on the side.

It's already bad enough that loser tries to get someone well-respected in the industry in trouble for (gasp) liking some tweets and/or following someone, but the cherry on top is him trying to wash his hands of any responsibility over potentially getting Calloway cancelled and shift it to his followers with both that 'course correction' nonsense and to 'block' anyone who's going to do it.

If shitstirrer here really wanted to 'correct it', the course of action is to contact in private, but openly calling it out is a call to arms and to get her in trouble over nothing. I seriously hope this doesn't impact her career in any real way besides her choosing to delete her Xhitter account and not attending some gay ass convention.
