They do do lots of weird shit though. Just different kinds of weird.
Spose you can more discreetly screenshot upskirts than doing it irl.
Wtf, that happened? When was that?

I read somewhere that the retard who wrote Pandaemonium and the 6.X quests is going to probably be the lead writer for all of Dawntrail.

So, uh, well, guess I'll see you all around in 8.0, maybe, or something, because I really don't think I can take any more of how shit the writing got. I honestly forgot what the Panda story even was when I came back - like, I remember the raids existing, but I couldn't remember what the basic premise of them even was. (Fanservice. That's what it was, fanservice.)

Yeah the story for the Panda raids were forgettable. I was expecting going to literal hell and fighting evil bosses that the WoL has slain or something like FF2.

Lame. What happened to the guy who wrote for Shadowbringers? Did he just move on and lose interest? Was he moved somewhere else by SE? It's a shame.

Just got done with the p12 raids. I honestly thought the fight was wicked, as well as the theme. The other fights to where solid to, except maybe p10. As for the story, there are elements to it I like, but all in all its mediocre and I feel there are a few plot holes.
For one, I thought Elidibus sending you to the past he used the last of his essence in order to make it possible. Two, how did both Elidibus and Lahabrea forget you? I feel like either this is a legitimate plot hole or I am forgetting some small detail.
I generally don't like time travel bs and Endwalker's is no exception. I kinda liked it in Shadowbringers because it hinted of alternate timelines existing, but then they break it later on.
Couldn't the WoL or especially Venat helped to prevent the End of Days? Wouldn't this of just created a new timeline? In Shadowbringer, Gra'ha expected himself to disappear once you corrected the issue, but he didn't, thus implying that the timeline where you died is still moving on.
Feel free to correct me on any of these, and hopefully I am not being a fag and missed someone who already talked about this.

EDIT: Man I am loving the Endwalker Hildabrand stuff. I really don't understand why people hate it personally.

She's still there doing something, fuck if I know what though.

She's now senior story designer, so I guess her job is just to tard wrangle. Which I mean, is overall a good direction for the game in the long-term... Ishikawa is good but she's also an insane fujo who hates cute girls (this is why Y'shtola is suddenly allowed to be a real character again post-EW). They really need to give their other writers room to find their footing lest the game just become Endwalker-but-gay for the next 10 years.

I crafted shit for 90 customized blacksmith's components and promptly trashed them like a retard because I wasn't fully paying attention to what I was tossing. Still pissed at myself but am also laughing at myself for being such a retard.

I'm willing to give them a chance because Pandaemonium had some good bits in it, maybe giving them a setting that doesn't involve time travel and all this crazy shit will help and it just a more simple adventure story will help them shine through

During your time in Pandaemonium (and Elpis in general), you were passed off as a familiar of Azem. Note that both Elidibus and Lahabrea didn't actually know of your origins; that group only consisted of E-S, Venat, Hytholodeus and Fandaniel. Themis basically just went "yeah Azem probably created you for this" and didn't think further of it. Especially since you (understandably) disappeared right after they resolved the entire thing and they had more important shit to worry about.

I think the issue was they couldn't, because by the time they knew, Meteion flew off to the edge of the universe and they had no means to follow them. Remember, Fandaniel specifically created the birds because they (the Ancients) couldn't survive in the aether-thin environment of outer space, but the birds can, because dynamis or someshit. And if I remember correctly, even if you knew then the source of the Final Days, you still had no idea how it even functioned. (I don't think the game ever explains how Meteion ever got the power to do the shit she did in the game, aside from "muh dynamis".)

Also yeah, it's heavily implied that they were operating in a closed loop. What happened already happened, and nothing you did altered the timeline (or if you were to do some of the Elpis sidequests, it's outright shown you probably were the "inspiration" for some of the classic Eorzean creatures like behemoth, kreppokurs and morbols.

The latest expansion seems pretty low stakes, but maybe they'll have a cool final threat to face.

The big thing I want that they've been putting off lately is new tank classes. Everybody else has like 20 damage classes and 10 healers but tanks only have 4.

@Kane Lives
I apologize since for whatever reason I cannot reply.

Yeah I know they thought you were a familiar. But Elidibus and Lahabrea dismissing you as a familiar and you not leaving some form of lasting impression doesn't make sense. Because despite your "thin" aether you're the one going around killing all the monsters and fighting other keywards. Them not having any form of recollection of you whatsoever doesn't make sense to me.
I guess it is possible that with more pressing matters it simply slipped from their minds but still.

And yeah I forgot that they had no way to get to Meteion even if they knew/remembered she would be a giant threat to them.

Unless they fundamentally shake-up encounter design, the current tanks we have basically fill every niche possible. Tanking is just not that complicated in this game - you're just a shitty DPS with some extra responsibilities.

Fair enough, It would just be nice to have something new and cool.

Dark knight is the only class that really appeals to me mechanically and I have to constantly glamor him up to look like a traditional paladin as opposed to an edgelord with pointy armor.

Don't worry friend, by 8.0 all tanks will basically be Dark Knight + Warrior with like one unique gimmick mit. Trust the plan.

They should probably fix Paladin first
"We have fused both Fight or Flight and Requiescat into a single ability, called Hurty Mode. In addition, if you attempt to use a physical ability while Hurty Mode still has stacks of Magic Zoomie, they will automatically be converted into their corresponding magical ability. In fact, as we were writing this, we have decided to make the magical and physical attacks the same buttons, which will simply change based on whether or not Hurty Mode is active. In addition, Quick Blade now automatically triggers Hurty Mode if it is off cooldown.

Shield Bash potency increased by 10. No further changes."

And yet, they will still have consistent issues with Duty Finder tanks struggling to maintain aggro, and will as such table the idea of making the various threat stances passively provide absurd amounts of threat. When DF tanks continue to produce issues by refusing to use their stance, they will force the Blue to have it active in a 4-person dungeon and remove the follow-up AoE and single-target attacks, as these are too complicated for newer players.

I don't know how you fix their tank design, honestly. I think it's just fundamentally broken.

I still cant wrap my head around how tanks fail to maintain aggro when all you do is press one button and spam AOEs and/or the ranged single target move. Everytime i try to i feel like my brain is getting smoothed out with sandpaper.

they'd probably just only cast Cure 1 or something similar if they were a healer.

This is way too fucking hard for some players. Have mercy.

Whenever I do raids I stance off and see what the other tank got. It's rarely anything good. Then their MT privileges get taken away.

I literally do not know HOW people are so bad at this game but they are.

I have the feeling my old ass PC isnt gonna be able to run the upcoming expansion.
