XIV players are some of the most terminally triggered and offended people I’ve seen online. They’re constantly screaming about whatever plot points that cross their mind due to their terrible reading comprehensions seeing offensive material everywhere. One of the few good things about XI’s community is that it is pretty much free of these people. Let’s hope XI’s community stays that way.

You know how progressives on Twitter will report you for perceived infractions; not that you really did say the nigger word or anything, just that your avatar looks like it would and thus you're guilty. Same shit applies, but the FF14 mods are more heavy handed than the Twitter mods.

I got sent to Eorzean prison for telling someone to play right or get kicked, because I'm not gonna spend an hour of my life at the first boss of a basic dungeon. No matter how many times I explained the mechanic, dude would go fucking stupid and wipe us. So after the third time, repeat the mechanic, tell him to get it right or get kicked. So he left in a huff, then at the end of the dungeon I get pulled into prison to have a talk about my aggressive harassment towards another player.

FF14 are fucking snowflakes, and any sense of self that deviates from the hivemind may as well be a fucking blast furnace.

That's because the GM stance on that is to either votekick or just abandon and eat the penalty.

Trust me, I dealt with the same exact thing back during ARR regarding a shitter tank who refused to tank because he thought we were too "undergeared" for Brayflox Normal and demanded we abandon first. The GM who answered my report about said tank was eventually convinced after several minutes of back and forth between us to talk the tank into leaving, but straight up told me next time to just take the abandon penalty because "a 30 minute timeout is better than waiting for almost an hour on an uncooperative tank and a GM to address the issue."

I've seen similar behavior on the forums; one poor bastard admitted to how much he enjoyed Endwalker's story, and the responses made it sound like the community was planning on murdering him for disagreeing with their opinions.

Not quite new, but I do tend to avoid dealing with in general, so... same difference, really. I've dealt with some snowflake shit before - I think the worst was a healer and dps (a Hroth and Lala, I believe) doing some ERP shit in a dungeon run - but even I was surprised by just how fucking retarded the community is.

It boggles my mind how they come to such bizarre conclusions. I'm also wondering if this was their first Final Fantasy because the series has roots in being inspired by Indian/Arabic aesthetics.

Speaking of the trigger warning card we also get the usual “goblins are obviously a Jewish stereotype.” There’s nothing offensive about their design and I always thought they were more like an Italian Mafia than anything.

I’m just concerned that the dev team will eventually cave in to these people and start sanitizing the game’s storyline and hiring “sensitivity readers.” I wonder if the reason there’s so much plot armor lately is due to players getting upset over npc deaths. I wouldn’t be surprised if the writers were not allowed to kill any major npcs anymore.

Do all mmo communities have this terrible issue with reading comprehension and being unable to distinguish between fantasy and reality? Or is it uniquely a XIV thing?

If it makes you feel better, I don't really see things like this on a regular basis and they reworked the game where you could play it solo so having to deal with other people has been reduced down to even fewer quests.

Calling Goblins antisemetic is beyond insane. These rabid gender specials must have confused the Harry Potter goblins with Final Fantasy goblins, because this is what FF goblins look under the mask. They can't say "well Hobgoblins--" nono, they explicitly stated the Illuminati which means the Source goblins not the First's hobgoblins with disfigured, exposed human-like faces. In their seething rage towards JK Rowling, they forgot not all goblins are the same.
