I finally cleared the latest EX.

Got nothing to show for it besides 4 totems but I'm just glad I was able to do that fucking numbered mech correctly.

Now to farm for weapons...

Yeah he says so himself during quests in what I believe were either post Stormblood or Shadowbringers where you help improve the lives of the Ala Mhigans and others. He's the only Syndicate member who seems to have any motivation beyond LOADSAMONEY and manipulating the Sultanate. If he wasn't a memelord I'd assume there's a chance he'll make a play at becoming landed royalty but chances are he'd just say he's too busy running around beating monsters to death with his goldsmithing hammer. While nude of course.

It's a large part of why he is giving away the Manderville weapons for a song, he just wishes to do good for the realm and the people in it. Also he enjoys the challenge of putting them together.

I don't think I've ever seen a community ever get this assmad over a mod that lets you zoom out your camera. Or the mod that accurately portrays your hitbox by just drawing a dot under your character's feet. Of course, they cheated, and they should get shit on, but when I saw the amount of outrage and autism over this, I was expecting something more than "God in heaven, this man zoomed out the camera, off with his head". At least the memes are funny.

Really would be a shame if this killed plugins, because a lot of people, myself included, pretty much have to use stuff like Noclippy due to being born in unfortunate places, and a lot of plugins add actual QoL shit that Square should've implemented years ago. Such as the ability to zoom out the camera further, because as it stands now, people with superwide monitors can literally see more of the game than people without.
 
Somehow I've missed out on seeing any sneeding about this. The only thing I've seen on Twitter is the memes and mockery.
 
People are memeing the camera a lot but I think the real thing getting dunked on is the fact that a lot of JP raiders like to shit on westerners for using ploggons for things like cosmetics. They're known to shit talk about skill and how people are whiny or lazy for using ploggons, only for them to get caught using them themselves.

You can't talk a big game about being skillful and then get caught using addons that modify the game to give you an unfair advantage. You get caught being a hypocrite, you're gonna eat shit.

My favorite thing are the herds of sheep defending the dumb motherfuckers. "Using a zoom tool is nothing, it doesn't help anyone clear anything, you guys are just assmad that they cleared."

If using a zoom doesn't change anything, why did they use it to begin with??? You use something because you need it, their retarded arguments make no sense.

I don't see how a cosmetic mod is comparable to gameplay. Apples and oranges there.

Using weird ass tactics to partially break the encounter is a pretty common in world firsts but requiring what is apparently an extra player for callouts and an unanchored camera plugin is just not even bothering with that.

You gotta be a real dumbshit to record and share you using a plugin for this stuff though.

I don't see how a cosmetic mod is comparable to gameplay. Apples and oranges there.

The white roes from days long past came back and this was posted in chat. According to a friend the message I posted translates to: "Excuse me, I'm a beginner, how far can the camera be pulled back?"

The group has since put out this (translated) statement (first picture) to quell some of the rumors that it was leaked by someone within the group that held a grudge (the second picture). I don't know how much is bullshit, but here it is just in case this spirals further out of control and one side proves to be lying.

The main reason people get really mad about addons/TPT is that literally the game is crossplatform. You cannot even begin to use mods on the PS4/PS5 version and most players do not want raiding in FFXIV to turn into WoW raiding (install DBM and run away when the wolf says "RUN AWAY LITTLE GIRL").

It isn't just a camera zoom - it's literally increasing his Field of Vision, meaning it's much easier to see mechanics in a fight that's almost entirely made out of mechanics and it would be considered cheating in any other competitive game (FPS and MOBAs specifically). Doing things like a "race" wherein you have some level of advantage over your competition does actually ruin it for everyone involved.

Also imagine cheating to get world first and having the game director write a blog about you, calling you out for it.

I, at the very least, will not recognize that team as the true World First.

It also ruins the spirit of the competition and if the fight can be cleared completely free of tools, than using them just tells everyone you're too retarded and lazy to put in the work to clear difficult content the way that it's supposed to be cleared.

The devs put a lot of work into testing the fight and tuning it so that it can be cleared completely within the bounds and tools built into the game and you have jackasses undermining the people who worked on this and openly mocking them to boot. After everything Yoshi has done for the ungrateful sods, they're lucky he doesn't just pull the plug on hardcore content altogether. See how fast their tune changes when he tells them no more savages, no more ultimates and for them to get fucked.

Edit: The WF team associated with the cheating DRG are getting their titles and weapons and achievements revoked by GMs.
