All right, I thought canon Menphina looked bad but the canon design now looks way better in comparison.

Eh, it’s not the craziest head canon I’ve seen on ffxiv. This one in particular seems like a bootleg Baphomet who also sports a similar body type and also balances himself between male and female.
If we didn't have the troonery politics of today, designs like this wouldn't really be that out of nowhere or that big of a deal outside of being a little weird. I've seen various mythos who try to balance both sexes on one entity together by either being androgynous as hell that you can only barely tell what they are or being what we'd consider intersex. Mythological creatures aren't necessarily bound by human conventions, and fae folk are a good example of this.

The whole Fae they/them = non-binary shit from awhile ago in this game shows what I mean. Fae-folk don't necessarily have gender or give a shit about it within that mythos and how it had been used since its creation, but modern day internet discourse ignores that in favor of pushing their dumb shit because no one knows or cares about the basis of anything they consume especially when it is from some white-skinned folklore.

Now if this was some sand people mythos or god forbid some african mythos reinterpretation, people would throw a fit about cultural appropriation or whatever probably.

I honestly wouldn't care if Mephina was some kind of weird intersex/adrogynous thing in canon, because to me things like mythological Gods and folklore creatures don't need to be bound by our constraints and are allowed to do literally anything they want. I'd need a more thematic or lore reasonable idea then just some vague "twin moons" thing here. Such as perhaps the two moons having their own story to them that coincides with this idea somehow, but such stories will probably not fly well in current year because everything is seen through a troon justifcation/hate lens when it comes to this shit.

On the one hand, hurrr DAE the apocalypse is just like COVID?

On the other, I suppose the story of a blue bird (website mascot) shrieking about the end of the world while humanity wishes it would shut the fuck up *is* pretty topical.

Don't forget - For some absolutely retarded reason they're still tuning the number of wards/plots per world to JP populations, despite NA/EU having significantly higher numbers of active players per world.

Also Dynamis is apparently dead in the water. I can see why they tried to avoid another crystal fiasco by not shuffling pre-existing worlds into it but the alternative is that it's fucking dead. I'm not sure what kind of nip spaghetti code prevents them from just increasing concurrent players on current logical DCs and just adding worlds but they need to sort that out ASAP.

I love Dynamis. It's low population is perfect for me and if I need fast queues I can just travel to another DC.

I can't tell you how refreshing it is to not see people virtual humping each other in bikinis and being braindead retards in every square inch I walk. I was also able to get a house because of how empty it is too. The near empty places also lets my potato ps4 run without sounding like it's about to combust.

Pint wasn't average to begin with. He was a femboy that played a female gnome mage back in classic wow.

Pint is okay. He hasn't given me any cause to find him really annoying despite the whole femboy shtick. Contrary to his apparent femboy nature, he acts like a massive coomer for the females in the game and his videos are a nice addition to the wasteland of ffxiv content creation.

Yeah, I was going to mention that low population isn't really an issue for Dynamis because of the DC travel but that does mean that the Oceania datacenter is absolutely fucked due to its isolation. As far as I can tell people flocked to it at first to make meme characters like all the people who made the G'raha tia cult FC but I imagine that in the long run it's a ghost town with no real way of fixing it.

I mostly agree but lately I've found that some of his bits get on my nerves, like the whole "hurr durr sniffing feet" thing and when he rapidly moves the camera around.

On the subject of streamers, someone in my FC introduced me to a channel called Grinding gear last week and after binging their content they've become my favourite FFXIV streamers. Their gimmick is that it's two guys playing through the MSQ at the same time and I like the way they play off of each other. On their main channel they do the streams and also make discussion and analysis videos on the content they played and they also have a clips and highlights channel of certain moments in their streams.

Oh, I know the GG guys. I've played with them and I'm part of the discord. Chill place, but I mostly keep away from the more common areas. Nothing crazy happens in there.

Most notable thing was that some keyboard warrior started a fight with some dude because he likes Asmongold and like all embarrassing femtards, no one is allowed to like Asmongold because he's an asshole. So they threw a massive tantrum because someone had a different opinion to them and they made a stink about it infront of everyone.

They left when everyone called them out on trying to start shit with other people and that if she couldn't handle being in a public space where people will have different opinons and conduct themselves with some modicum of civility, her ass needed to go.

Yeah GG are the only XIV content people I really watch. They seem like nice normal guys. Also Kyle is adorable, but that's neither here nor there lol

I'm the one who started the trend of bad puns and dad jokes during their streams. At first they used to groan, but now they've become considerably punny recently and I like to think I'm at fault for that.

I want this guy off my Race, and out of my game.
I feel like Pint is like the Zeno's Paradox of trooning out. Perpetually feminizing but never quite reaching the point of doing HRT.

I'd seen them in my recs and explicitly avoided them because I thought they were just like, normal wowfugee grift bullshit. But I'm actually kinda enjoying them after reading about them here and deciding to check out a couple of their vids. Same reason I like Quazii I guess - I'm also a boomer with a full-time job and life outside of games and being able to still enjoy MMOs from that perspective is nice.
