I was expecting much worse from them, though I suppose most of the XIV gender people stick to their grooming discords and twitter, not on the official forums where they can't post their modded up big tits with cock screen shots.
God I hate Zero, she's the single most kingdom hearts thing introduced into this game, I wouldn't be shocked if it turned out Nomura had a hand in this patch.
I saw some person on the balance call her nonbinary even though the game makes it pretty obvious she is a woman. The person justified it as: "She can still be nonbinary with she/her pronouns" and it reminded me that I have no clue what goes on in the brains of gender people. Their way of thinking is genuinely alien to me.

They tried to pull that shit with Alisae back in Stormblood but at least they were memed out of existence
Also I like to think Alisae will nuke them with extreme prejudice

its wierd to even think that since she outright tells you shes half human, and in the dungeon before meeting her you even outright fight a voidsent that is very clearly a countess, so voidsent do have genders lmao" even in the most stretched out copes its hard to even wiggle out something to claim shes NB, retards lmao

Is there a retards guide to island sanctuary yet?

I'm about to hit island level 5 when I get home from work, I want to see what the autists have come up with so I can be most efficient with gathering items in my little spare time.

I think it won't be so cut and dry because of the supply/demand stuff but would be nice to get an idea of a rhythm I should be getting into if there is one.

Just got through MSQ and finished P5-8 so here's some bullet points.

  • Dungeon isn't bad, but it's not great either. My main complaint is that the first boss is a shit load of adds. So have fun spamming your AOEs and dodging super simple AOEs.
  • Trial is pretty good. It's pretty light mechanically with only one mechanic that requires looking for the world's most obvious tell. But it's kinda chaotic and in terms of chucking AOEs at you.
  • Pandaemonium: Abyssos is pretty good. The music seemed a lot better this time since last tier felt like it had one good song and the other three fights just used generic music.
    • P5 is a great fight. It might be easy as hell but it's got a pretty unique mechanic with regards to how it splits up the arena and had mechanics interact with those splits.
    • P6 is another great fight and the first time we hear the lyrics for Scream (the previous track I mentioned I liked). It's pretty easy again but I did find myself caught out more here due to how the mechanics will swap around and then also have AOEs going off at the same time to catch you out.
    • P7 is another hit for me. It's probably among the more difficult normal-mode fight. P7 also has that same thing that P2 has where it starts to play around with the arena layout and that can be really fun. I expect this one will be the annoying one for Savage.
    • P8 was a bit disappointing tbh. The fight felt a little simple for the tier-ender, the most unique thing is probably that knockback thing. Also no boss transition which is a shame. Kinda comes as a disappointment since P4 was a great fight in the previous tier. But P8 doesn't do anything unique and cool enough to make me love it.

Not tried out the extreme trial yet, so no opinions there. And I'll probably torture myself with PF savage when that drops next week (very excited for that one given what we've seen in normal).

The word nonbinary has been so diluted and abused that like misogyny and racism, has lost any and all meaning in current day's discourse.

The moment I saw Zero I thought 'Oh she's cute' .. then 'Goddamnit someone's gonna say she's an it'. NATCH.

Being 'non-binary but using she/her' is some pure snowflake with extra steps bullshit.

I'm pretty sure voidsent are just the sin eaters from ShB but corrupted via leaning far too much to dark aspected aether. So they're about as gender relevant as sin eaters.

Once more FFXIV story autists can't read, because it is very clear the sin eaters and voidsent are two sides of the same coin on the light vs dark spectrum (or 8 sides as any form of over leaning to any aspected aether corrupts the mind and body unless you are born that way ala elemental sprites for example). We learned back in 5.4 that tempering is mental and bodily corruption via aetherical imbalance.

Frankly even if we're assuming aetherical imbalance throws off the body so hard that you become non-binary by default for some reason, that is not a positive representation of non-binary.

Apparently shitposters on 4chan have been memeing about her secretly being a dude from the other side of the political correctness spectrum so my conclusion is that it all comes down to people being confused cause her boobs aren't visible.

Island Sanctuary feels a tad bit underwhelming.
They did say quite early on not to expect much, so I'm not surprised.

I was expecting more, go hang out with minions and animals and less of Final Fantasy flavoured Ooompa Loompa enslavement camp.

Best one so far.

There are the glowy Titania weapons now, but no Reaper or Sage and I would post a showcase but I don't want to torture you with the music.

So I just learned that probably the most famous cutscene in HW changed a little bit, the outcome is the same but they added one extra bit to answer something of a plot hole in the original scene. Although to me it was implied in the original scene, but whatever it isn't a big deal to outright state this.

Now when Haurchefant is dying Alphinaud attempts to heal him, but he mentions as he is crying, that the wound is too deep to heal. This answers the "Why can't we just heal him!?" complaint, but I felt it was kind of obvious but then again people presume Raise is a literal nercomancy reanimation technique so I don't know if this will really help the people who don't get the limitations of curative magics.

They also gave Estinien one of Haurchefant's lines by saying "We're not too late" in his place for some reason.

The lance gives a healing debuff when you fight Thordan and his knights, hence why you're unable to save Haurchefant. This lore comes back again when doing the Dragonsong Ultimate and you can see it on him during the fight.

did ishikawa have a hand in this because ouch.

Island Sanctuary feels a tad bit underwhelming.
Island Sanctuary is basically "I'm waiting for my party finder to fill up so let's go around picking up imaginary stones on an island". Some will enjoy it, but that's one for the g-posers and people who make fashion their endgame.

It is handy as something to do while PF fills up though.

I like it. It's comfy and fits well with a player character that wants to wind down a bit after saving existence.
It's a bit of a dead end though. Has no impact other than the island itself and the collectable items you can buy using island currency.
It's also not housing or animal crossing that some people wanted.
I'm happy with a bit of side content though

Did the MSQ Tuesday night and:
There is something creepy and uncomfortable about Zero’s hideout island or whatever you want to call it. The music that plays doesn’t help the unsettling nature about that place. 13th has been a pretty haunting experience so far given that you can see that the denizens are just regular people who have fully adjusted to their lives as aether addicted feeders completely forgetting what they were before that and forgetting what the ruins on islands are supposed to represent.

Might be why Zero’s abode is creepy for me, it’s the luminal space vibe and you know the edifice is recognizable as a place people either live in or reside in, but you don’t know what the purpose is or what it was used for in the first place. It’s the vagueness that draws attention to the reality that the thirteenth is essentially gone with nothing to remember about it or any kind of identifiable culture before it got flooded with dark.
