You could in-theory, but the house is locked atm last I heard and I doubt they'll unlock it until Saturday at best (unless this blows over really fast). You can fuck around in the yard if you can get into the server. You have to faff about a little bit to enter housing districts (I think it is level 5 or 10), but it takes a handful of minutes really if you just start in Limsa.

I was at the scene earlier, but it was just shout chat spam and people dancing and playing clown music. I'm not sure if they're ever going to open the doors or do anything in the housing district any time soon, but it was pretty funny to witness the raid.
 
I wonder if there is a statistic tracker of some sort to see how many people bailed on the fc in the wake of this drama.

I don't even really mind if someone throws a lot of effort into erotica or whatever - at least they're trying - but this kinda shit always rubbed me the wrong way. Like... what is there to enjoy from that? Literally what? There's no wordplay, there's no keeping your literary chops stretched, there's no chance at picking up new words and phrases you happen to like and incorporating them into your own thing... this, of course, sounds somewhat absurd until you consider the number of artists who draw smut in order to improve their drawings otherwise. Though a cursed cum chalice, for those sorts, it is a way to actually work their craft. I have to imagine it applies to writing, too.

But this is the equivalent of people drawing stick figures with big boobs and dicks over and over again.

I suppose that's why it never really held any appeal for me beyond when I was pretty young - what in the world is there to even do? It's way more interesting to sit down in a world with a handful of people like a PnP, or even just to write a collaborative story with someone else wherein... you can both actually affect the world, and put some real spitshine into it. Rather than this perpetual muck and mire of crab-bucket LCDs.

I can't find the clip offhand, but Asmondgold got tricked into some RP in one of his streams with the end goal of starting some ERP. They basically engaged him over some gameplay matter, then kept asking oddly worded follow ups to keep him talking. He was visibly confused and kept replying honestly. Then he caught on and told them to fuck off.

RPers are a strange breed, really talented at pulling you into their world. Be safe, folks.

On one hand, I hope SE decides to crack down hard on RP/ERP fags, either nuke them from orbit or contain them into their own tag and prohibit any kind of RP in shout chat.

But I'm also worried this will force their hand into adding something that detects mods, including graphical ones stormshader/gshader.

They are never going to crack down on RP, erotic or otherwise. Yoshi-P is a turbo MMO oldfag - he RP'd as a lord in Ultima Online and god only knows what smutty shit he got up to with that power dynamic.

IIRC Yoshi-p has said he's fine with reshade/Gshade.

Only mod I would care about losing is Burning Down The House as anyone who has tried to do anything even moderately interesting with housing knows how frustrating and non user friendly it is.

But if I have to lose that for the greater good, so be it, burn the degenerates.

The day Square Enix removed Balmung from Aether was a great day. All Aether has to contend with now are Faerie faggots and world travelers. Frankly not surprised this event occured soon after data center travel implementation. Oldfags teaching the young ones how to fight the menace.

Gshade is fine because it doesn't really interact with the game itself but rather is injected into the shader pipeline of the graphics card and you can get equivalent effects just by using a very clever post-render filter.

If I'm being honest, I don't really see anything big coming from this. RP weirdos did a verboten thing and other RP weirdos successfully self-policed. This is pretty much a slam dunk case for "be hands-off and err on the side of letting players police each other rather than engaging in scorched-earth jannying"
