Not exclusive just those two sadly and nor is it a recent thing. I’ve seen literally every character including all the Scions, Zenos, the villains, the Twelve, the Eorzean Alliance and country leaders, Arcadion fighters, the Garleans, and even the most obscure and random side characters from random side quests get pornified to hell and back. And then you have the Bakool Ja Ja and Zoraal Ja fuckers that exploded in popularity when Dawntrail released. There’s also a shocking amount of porn of Shale and obviously both Sphenes have attracted a ton of porn artists. People have been making porn of Zenos since Stormblood. I also remember mountains of smut plaguing social media as early as Heavensward. Not to mention the sick fucks that want to fuck the twins or the Llalafell or if they’re not attacking people for not shipping Ryne and Gaia they’re making porn of their OC’s lusting over the two girls. I dealt with so many people acting like gross freaks since ARR came out for years that when G’raha became popular and Emet came along I wasn’t surprised when fans sunk their claws into them like they did the rest of the cast of characters. I also saw porn of Halmarut less than 24 hours after the patch dropped and I wouldn’t be surprised if she got more porn in the span of a few months than Wuk ever got.

I put a huge amount of blame on the shoulders of the Tumblr porn ban for most of this because prior to that most of the porn and smut from fujos and the lgbt crowd was contained to there. Then the ban happened and a lot of people escaped containment and took their gooner shit to other social media websites.

Personally I’m friends with a lot of shippers but thankfully they’re super chill and don’t shove whatever explicit stuff they make in my face. I usually don’t give a fuck about shipping or people making smut as long as they don’t act like retards or get really gross with it or lust after underage characters.

Honestly it’s a good thing the writers don’t listen to the community and I don’t blame them for it. I still remember when ShB first came out and some people crashed the fuck out over Runar falling in love with Y’shtola because from some reason they shipped her with Lyse. I even wrote about it hundreds of pages back. They even made absolutely nasty comments accusing Ishikawa of having a stalker fetish simply because she wrote Runar interacting with Y’shtola. I wish I kept a screenshot of the actual post but it got nuked before I got to. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the reason they don’t write any romance between characters is because they don’t want to get threats and dangerous crazies coming after them. (there was a story of a SE employee getting stalked and harassed by some FF7 shipper.)

I wonder if the Japanese fanbase has a huge gooner problem too. I noticed that most of the gross gooner shit and porn art comes from Western players. Japanese fans make porn art but it’s nowhere near the amount I see from Western fans. Not to mention Japanese fans at least have the decency to put it under a filter or post a link to the pic on a nsfw site like Poipiku instead. Meanwhile Western fans just brazenly post it out in the open with no filters. I eventually gave up trying to find good fanart on all social media sites because I kept getting blasted in the face with uncensored porn and extreme fetish content (all of it from western artists.) I wouldn’t be surprised if Japanese fans also had this problem but if they do they hide it a lot better.
I also read that Japanese players despise mods and will even block people on social media if they see someone using them. When Mare got taken down some of the Japanese fans even emphasized how much they hated modding.

Funny you mention her because out of all the Heavyweight fighters not only is she lewded a lot less than the others but said lewding is a lot tamer. I’ve seen a disturbingly high number of people having degenerate fantasies about Tyrant (that I will not repeat here to spare my sanity) and fujos latched on to the blowjob brothers from M10 real hard. Meanwhile with Vamp you get some gooners with G Posing or people shipping her with Honey B. Lovely.

A lot of Japanese art and gposers usually keep sfw on the open public western sites like Twitter. At most some will show the cover of their R-18 art (usually still sfw) and then link to the nfsw site. Western people just out and out mix smut with their sfw art and gposes or are just explicitly nsfw. I can understand why JP players treat NA like the plague.

Vamp and Honey B are in a rivalry; Vamp's song mentions taking eyes off of magazines (While Honey B's own song talks about her being in magazines) and after the final Arcadian raids, you can find Vamp in one of the apartments and she talks about Honey B and how she can't stand her.

Chalk it up mostly to their culture. Japanese always censor lewd stuff, even their hentai is censored most of the time. They are a lot more careful about it because they are actually aware about how destructive it is if people become addicted.
Westerners, especially the degenerates who play this game, are just all open about their fantasies and fetishes because we've devolved as a society to where we can no longer call someone out for being a weirdo and wanting to make their fetishes public knowledge as if anyone cares what someone wants to do in their own bedroom. Westerners are more addicted to porn, now more than ever, and the over saturation of sex into everything in pop culture and the internet has caused it to be so ingrained in westerners that talking about sexual things comes a naturally as breathing. Idk if im retarded but i never took the friendship of Gaia and Ryne as them being lesbian in any way shape or form. Ryne is clingy towards Gaia because shes her first real friend so naturally shes super clingy. Honestly shippers are the worst thing to ever happen to media as a whole.

Much as I don't like the coomers in this game, I gotta say this is a good thing CS3 did. From what I can tell, CERO is extremely draconian with their rating system, and pretty much slam the hammer down whenever there's the tiniest amount of a nail sticking out. I just wonder if they're going to follow suit and up it to PEGI 18 for Europe and M for America.

They were going to be forced by CERO to censor gposes if they were at certain angles. Most famous versions of censorship is usually the void™, or doing the thing of black lines to censor. Instead of going with that to maintain the 13+ rating, they simply just decided to raise it. Translation from a popular tweet on JP twitter

I know that so far they just mention removing the G-pose restrictions, but i do wonder if this was done with enough time in advance to dictate about what will the content itself be about, but they'd have to have enough faith/balls to also do it for the ESRB at that point

Prevailing theory seems to be while yes this was so they don't have to censor gpose, upping the rating could allow CS3 to make more emotional punches and make them land harder. The famous example in Shadowbringers, Yoshida talks about is how much they could get away with a CERO C rating, and anything more they would've been forced to go to CERO D.

Are you talking about the Tesleen scene? I remember hearing it was going to be a lot more gruesome but the age rating would have to go up if they did it. As for the ESRB I don’t think this game has done or would do anything extreme enough to warrant an M rating. I’m guessing they could have more body horror like with the original Tesleen scene like they wanted. Or show more on screen gore and blood and people getting their heads blasted off instead of scenes fading to black like what happened with Quintus’s suicide. Also showing actual limb dismemberment and showing someone getting sliced open instead of the weird barbie doll anatomy stuff that happened with Raubahn and Taleji in the Bloody Banquet. (Some parts of the Bloody Banquet is so hard to take seriously due to engine limitations when Raubahn has his arm cut off with very little blood like he was made of plastic.)

Honestly thought Quintus's suicide was well done, dunno if watching him actually blow his brains out would enhance that or not. The Bloody Banquet was pretty rough, However. I think the arm was done with an invisible character doing the dying animation, as well the Taleji upper half with the lower half being invisible. One I'm on the fence about is the sisters dying in Garlemald. One hand, they died by animals, so seeing their clothing torn and bites into them would be a stronger impact, but I don't really know if it would truly enhance it and just not be gore for the sake of gore. I feel like CS3 wouldn't do tasteless gore scenes, and probably try to limit how much actual screentime it gets if it ever happens.
