Maybe I should give Fatal Fury and Virtua Fighter 5 another go. Just hope that enough people are playing.
 
Just beat Blue Mary's arcade mode. What a bland character. The most interesting thing to comes out of it... SPOILER...







She's a boozehound, lol.

Well, Krauser is up next month. It would cool if they could recreate his FF2/Special background, music and spoken intro, mainly because I don't think they could come up with anything more bad assed.
They'll, unfortunately, probably continue the trend and turn him into a "misunderstood" bad guy. We'll see in a month.

Nah, he's not faggy enough unlike Kain. They never did that shit with me despite the many, many chances they had to. God bless. I remain an asshole.

Though they sure as fuck love killing me and bringing me back, so I'm in a weird situation where I'm dead in two timelines (Fatal Fury and Maximum Impact) and alive in another (Mainline KOF games)

Despite being a huge SNK (Neo Geo era) fan, I'm not as up on my lore as some others may be. I don't get the reference to your site name (as opposed to @Mayor Cody Travers). Geese Howard?

Truth be told there's no correlation. Initially it was just deer themed and then I steered into Geese Howard but never bothered to change my username.

I probably should.

I'm pretty stoked about Kaiser, but from the audio of that trailer, it sounds like they (to me) ruined his theme song. It sounds like a pop song now or something. His stage intro in FF2/Special remains the coolest intro in any fighting game ever.

I've got a hammer, chisel, and a shitload of blank gravestones at the ready.
 
I had a chance to try out some of the new stuff added to the game, so I thought I'd report in. The new main screen UI is much neater and cleaner (not to mention just plain more attractive looking) than the old. They seem to be treating this as a relaunch of the game. As soon as I logged in there was a bunch of stuff to read thru about the new/different stuff as though I was a first time player.

I played thru the Krauser arcade mode. Good stuff. Nothing earth shaking, but good.

The ring out feature is limited to one new background for now. Hopefully they'll add a few more, although I'd rather they'd add some more multiplane backgrounds as that to me is one of the things that separated FF from the other fighting games and gave it its unique identity. As the game is now, it still plays like a King of Fighters game, albeit, slightly altered.

The new story mode is... interesting, lol. It's fully voice acted, but it's all static images and the comic book style illustrations makes it look kinda cheap. Having said that, I much prefer it over the very grindy EoST mode.

The timeline is also a bit confusing as Mr. Big is part of this, and the developers said that this new story mode takes place after the main tournament is over, and if you saw Mr Big's arcade ending,
He got blowed up, he's dead?


I like all the new QOL additions and the other goodies they added to the game. Keep 'em coming.
