Just finished a frustrating session of trying to play Fatal Fury Special. Got my ass absolutely handed to me on the easiest setting. Funny thing is, I owned the Neo Geo version when it came out in 94 or so and I was able to beat it fairly comfortably, even unlocking Ryo Sakazaki as a playable character. I've really regressed as a player, lol.
 
I guess this a 2D thread, but Tekken 8 has released probably the worst patch the series has seen and everyone is shitting on the devs.

No this thread is about all fighting games, but there is also a dedicated Tekken thread however you can still talk about it here as well.
 
Fuck it, just add in Donald Trump as the final CotW boss, with moves suspiciously similar to Geese.

He can actually kinda pull it off.

All shit posting aside I seriously hope this doesn't become a trend for fighting games now.

Do they have any more characters to announce for their release day lineup? At this point, the only thing that could convince me to preorder is if Geese Howard will be a day 1 character. Otherwise, I'm going to wait a bit.

Rule no. 1 of modern gaming.

Never buy at launch. If you must, then wait until the reviews roll out. Not from gaming journos, fuck those subhumans.

I don't know if this is the end of the character lineup but I'm gonna be a bit mad if it is. Considering two Garou characters are still MIA while we have wasted two slots on a football player and some synth shitter.

Yeah, I get that, but I've been such a big fan of the Fatal Fury games since I bought the first one for the Neo Geo back in 1992, that I thought I might preorder for this one for nostalgic reasons. Then the Ronaldo and DJ character announcements really dampened my enthusiasm.

I should have checked the good ol' internet first before asking that question, as it turns out Hokutomaru is the final non DLC character for the game...and no Geese for season 1. Looks like I'll be waiting for a good long while on this one... unless I'm blown away by non shill reviews. I can get my FF fix in the meantime by playing the 2d games or the recent KOF games. After all, other than minor fighting mechanics, modern FF and KOF are the same game, lol.

Look, if people want ridiculous fighters, SNK is about 20 years behind times. MUGEN exists, even Netherrealms realized that if they wanted memey fighter money they had to put those people ACTUALLY WANT, ie ones from popular media franchises so normalfags can have their "dream crossovers".

SNK is owned by a Saudi Prince and Ronaldo plays for the Saudi team and the DJ in the game is someone the prince is a fan of as well.
They also put out an ad with Ishowspeed as well so they want to try to get the attention of sports fans and children.
