"It will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and DMM Games Player in early 2025 in Japan and Asia with English language support."
Venus Vacation PRISM - DEAD OR ALIVE Xtreme - Teaser Trailer [0PtARxmJ-Rg].mp4
The downside? Only 6 girls available.... out of the 30 in the entire roster
RIP DOA. Considering the disaster that was Dynasty Warriors 9 and WO4, I'm expecting Koei Tecmo to go down the same route with those other series.

Makes me wonder what Itagaki feels about this when his OC, Hayate got tossed to the wayside.
They'll start you with 6.
Knowing DoA you'll have 6 gorillion in dlc by then end of it and have spent $10,000.
But here's the kicker; your hoe's clothes will get worn down after some time so she won't be available at all unless you either pay a daily 100 bucks for a nude mod or pay 50 to give her new clothes until the next time she needs new jeans or whatever.

Double points if one they create an entire DLC pack of Kasumi clones. I will never get over the fact that they created whole ass DLC for DOA5 but it was emo Kasumi with a bland outfit and green fart magic.

Then did it again with 6.

Are you telling me Xtreme Beach Volleyball(s) 1, 2 and 3 don't count as dating sims?

i would actually call DOAX games as praying to RNGGods for the girls to accept the pole dancing tickets. I swear to gods that the rates of the girls accepting the tickets are lower than the rarest drops in MMOs

Harry shit does this actually happen in the doaX games?
I've never played one.
Way younger me would have been all over that.
basically DOAX games are split into 3 things to do
1. doing mini games to make money and raise affection of the girls so you increase the chance they accept stuff you give them
2. buy shit like skimpier and skimpier swimsuits to gift to the girls and hope that they accept them, the skimpier the swimsuit, the lower the chance they accept. the skimpiest swimsuits in the game are the venus and fortune swimsuit, the swimsuit in question
Fortune.jpg Venus.jpg
3. unlock the pole dancing tickets through infuriating bullshit and try to gift it to girls and pray to RNG gods that they accept them, once they accept them, watch the pole dance and do the infuriating bullshit all over again. for DOAX3, the bullshit is reduced because you can savescum to make the girls accept it by copying your save to a usb drive as back up and gift them the swimsuit and if they didnt accept, reload the back up save from the usb drive

Fun Fact: DOAX was the main driving force on to early console modding for Xbox in Asia. everyone was hacking their xbox and selling pirated DOAX dvds that was patched where the swimsuits textures are basically removed/set to transparent and the body textures are modified to have nipples and vagina. it rattled Tecmo so much that they damned their hardest to catch all the modders and actually successfully sued one. this was also the reason why the nipple bumps and camel toes were removed in future DOA and DOAX games

as for DOAX3, there is an expansion for PS4 that supports VR, and you can ogle the girls there, but the screen blacks out when you get too close to their lady parts, but VR was patched out and reduced the booby jiggle

vZ5.gif

as for the gacha game, the DOAXVV game is basically a glorified auto volleyball battler with some vn elements and you gacha roll for the swimsuits, though they automatically accept them if youre able to roll for it

Well... Um... Ok...
I knew these games were basically letch simulators but I had no idea it was like that.
And here I thought they were just crappy vball games that had a boob jiggle physics engine.

...

SO! Ken and Chun Li and City of Wolves! That's neat. Though I was hoping we could see how their models will look there. Terry looks like a weird hobo in SF6, so I'm curious how Chun and Ken will look under SNK's hands.

unironically, DOAX2 has a better jet skit minigame than the whole wave race game which was removed in 3

anyway, returning back to the main DOA fighting games, despite being the game with most sales at 2 million copies, I believe the 3 was the start of the decline of the series. 3 was launch period game for xbox and there was nothing else in the horizon other than Halo, so I believe that it sold really well, compared to DOA2 at 1.2 million. and by the time 4 rolls around it started to slip to 1.2 million copies i think DOA3 and 4 would have sold upto 3 million if it was also on PS2 and 3

and when itagaki got gone from tecmo, I think they want to transform DOA to a more well known/respected fighting game. thats why the shift and tried to make DOA5 with the I'm a Fighter marketing. it sold only for 1.5 million with 300k with the Last Round edition. so it sold around the same as TTT2.

doa5.jpg
i think DOA5 sold badly because it was too late to the fighting game party, and toned down the sexiness. though I have to applaud them that the skimpier costumes are easier to unlock compared to DOA1,2,3 and 4. but, Tecmo found a little success with the costume DLCs and actually profited from it.

but they learned both wrong lessons from DOA5 and put it in DOA6. they pushed the less sexiness of the game and pushed for egregious DLC out of the bat, while offering little reason to buy it over DOA5 LR. so with the covering up the sexy costumes, appeasing the FGC/EVO crowd (remember the Core Values EVO scandal? appeasing EVO/FGC is a futile endeavor as FGC/EVO crowd doesn't really like 3D fighters) and then charging too much DLC and putting too little content, DOA 6 completely flopped with 350000 copies sold.

I think its a shame that DOA died just like that. Even Soul Calibur 6 was unapologetic on its sexiness and was able to sell 2 million copies and they both released just a few months from each other. and Soul Calibur was unashamed to put costumes like this

I hope if DOA comes back, they make it with the expectation that it would only sell 1.5 million copies at best and adjust the games budget for that and stop chasing the FGC/EVO crowd

Skipping past the coom a sec....

Considering the art direction for CotW, I am curious too considering it is more pleasing to look at and doesn't try to be hyperrealistic like SF6.

Because Terry in Capcom's hands.....

Oof yeah, that face.
1727516240939.png
No thanks.

DOA 5 and 6 are 80% off on steam....
and DOA5 with all of its character and costumes DLC costs $232 while DOA6 DLC is so many that the steam page was unable to properly compute how much is all of its DLC

these 2 games are the best argument as an ethical use of CreamAPI

However manly SF6 women look, it's preferred to this off-brand jap design where they just put a few finger wraps on a small teenage girl and suddenly she's a world renown wrestler. Like they literally just had to bulk her a tiny bit and it'd at least be believable.

It sounds like you're talking about two different characters. Preecha here is not a wrestler, she does Muay Thai. With the exception of Sagat from SF, all Muay Thai fighters in games have always been pretty lean.

You might be confusing her for Hinako who is actually a wrestler. Sumo to be exact.
Kofxvhinakorender.png

And yeah I see your point. That being said, it could be assumed that her being a little school girl is the point. You know, you got this goofy anime girl doing palm strikes and sumo poses and tossing men twice her size like pillows.

It's absurd for a reason. I guess

you are forgetting Fahkumram from Tekken 7, which is almost as large as Marduk.

anyway, i dont like too much that the characters are stereotyped too much too look like what martial arts they practice. a jeet kun do practicioner? they must be designed to look like Bruce Lee. Muay Thai, just make them wear the traditional boxing shorts and maybe give them the arm tassels and probably the headband. and etc...

that's why i applaud Jacky and Sarah Bryant, who kinda at first glance, you wouldn't know that theyre Jeet Kun Do practictioners

Aha! Yeah, there's him too who looks like he just ate a whole ass gym. I had honestly forgotten he existed tbh.

Which is to say you just jogged my memory and reminded me that before him, there was Bruce Irvin.

Probably why the typical fighting sumo fighter is kinda eh for me. With the exception of Ganryu in Tekken 7 because his design was cool when it had been generic as hell before, they all just sort of blend in together.

And I understand why they stereotype them because Japs are hyperfocused on sumo wrestling. It's their national sport after all.

Hinako is a breath of fresh air for me for this reason.

You'd be happy to know that King, a female Muay Thai fighter, looks nothing like that.

On the other hand, do all Taekwondo fighters need to wear the dobok? Yeah, Kim is cool and Juri is interesting and Hwoarang got the biker outfit but he also got the dobok.

Think even other SNK Taekwondo fighters wear the dobok - except for May Lee but she still got the baggy pants.

If the wiki is to be believed, they are all of legal age, including the small flat blonde one that everyone goes fucking gaga over for whatever reason
Define legal age. Japanese art style and its Fandom could go either way.
