Probably cause they need actual good games to sell another collections
Either that, or (as some people are speculation) it was a game in the same era.

SFA3Upper is a weird one, because it was a japan only arcade release and TECHNICALLY the west DID get it, but it was in the form of a GBA title and we got 3 extra characters from CVS2 (Maki, Eagle, Yun). i don't get why they waited till NOW to add it, or even just give everyone MAX (the PSP version which has everything) or even a new update that also includes the goodies from Alpha Anthology. They could have given everyone that right off the bat in 30th Anniversary

it's like how they added Hyper SF2 turbo to the 1st fighting collection instead of giving it to us in 30th anniversary. The more you think about it, the more you realize 30th anniversary got gimped in a way.

This collection seems to have already been tampered with according to their site:
  • SFA3Upper - Some stage visuals have been altered
  • PowerStone - The appearance of certain characters during their endings has been changed
  • ProjectJustice - Changed certain visuals during the story
  • PlasmaSword - Changed certain visuals during the story & changed the appearance of certain stages
  • CapcomFightingEvolution - Removed some character transformations from Demitri's Midnight Bliss
  • CVS1Pro - Some stage visuals have been altered
"Guys, it makes sense, it's the mid 2020s" - actual MaxDood quote justifying the changes.
all of these big corporations censoring their old games be like:

seriously, if you're going to go that far, you might as well not re-release them at all

also that Max guy should STFU, his wife (if he has one) probably gets railed by BBC behind his back

Well... they blew their load too quickly. They only have this left:

Cope with your shitty, censored product with trash games I'm sure you never played and liked (CFE, Plasma Sword).

Ever since you joined and started posting on the thread, you keep making these spergy ramblings about the fgc, consumerism and weed. It's like I'm reading the word salad from a contrarian soy face Redditor whom dan only communicate in catchphrases.

Really. I don't know what Capcoms issue with Rival Schools is

Edit: @Vyse Inglebard Max is indeed married, a chink. And he has a kid too.

As an olde timey arcade gamer, I'm looking forward to this new collection mainly for the 2d games. Of the 3d games, I think I only played Power Stone, and didn't think much of it. I'm dissapointed to hear things will be edited out. Anyone care to take a guess what the changes might be? I don't recall anything untoward in the 2d games in this collection.

>casuals will probably drop it after a week
Yes, but only because the entirety of online will be dominated by the pros, and really, unless you already have friends that like this shit, online is the sole reason to even get these games in the first place unless you're completely new to these games and want to experience them for the first time because emulation is out of the question for whatever reason. FightCade 2 is already like this where the pros are completely overshadowing the casuals to the point where it's hard to tell who is what anymore because even D-Ranks are using top-tiers and playing pro like they've grinded these games for years.

Its really game dependent but generally most players that are "pros" are at best average and Capcom fgs are particularly good at keeping a average player base due to how big the general audience is. Its a pretty good thing too cause most of their games can at least have a middle ground compared to something a 20 man fightcade room where the same 3 Brazilians fight each other for 10 years now.

Personally still mess around and still travel to play these things and its really never a shortage of people who have a curiosity in them or below average players who watch tier list videos that get their shit pushed in cause they don't fundamentally understand the game in the first place.

Overall cool both these collections coming out for the newer generation of players to mash against each other for a week tops, but thats the case for all FGs.

They are fun for the first week tho and hope that matchmaking stays decent for it so I can hear less "dead game why play" shit.

Theory I've heard that makes sense to me is that all the games are on a version of the naomi board while Rival Schools and Star Gladiator were in older ones. So possibly some emulation issues. Don't know if it's bullshit but sounded like a legitimate cause.

P.S. for anyone that's never played CVS2, here's what you're in for regarding online matches and why certain characters/grooves are always picked

Lemme guess -

Mmm-hmmm. As expected.

Over-under on the kid trooning out?

He named the kid "Ripley", so, I'd argue that's even worse than the kid eventually (possibly) trooning out. I dunno Max's overall politics (I bet he's a huge lefty though). The one thing he's smart about is not broadcast his personal beliefs all over the fucking place, or get involved in slap fights with retards on X over how HE thinks things should run. He's an old school gamer, which I can appreciate, but I still think he's a bit of a retard for naming his kid after a fictional character.

SF6 Terry theme is out. It's a remix of his Fatal Fury 2 theme. It's...it's actually really fucking good which is no surprise considering what it derives from. But it is honestly one of the best themes by a mile in this game.

Amazing yet predictable that they pulled no punches for their most iconic guest character.

Glad that the Bogard boy and I get good remixes when we fuck around in other franchises. "Soy Sauce Final Round" is still amazing.
Gotta say, now I'm really curious to hear what they will do for Mai's theme. I kinda hope for " Yvonne LeLord" out of preference even though it's likely it'll be "Mai Mai Kyunn" or "Flame Dragon God"

It'd be fucking funny if it was a heavy-metal remix

It should be metal.
I mean, it's only her favorite style of music.
That would be awesome really. But they're gonna play it safe because SNK and their muh waifu-ism.

For more info, see SNK Gal Fighters; Coom Town Frenzy.

Side note: The remixes for that game are lame af.

Sure Capcom, piss off fighting game fans even more, see how well that plays out.
Who am I kidding, no one will care
