How do you feel about The SCUM Manifesto? Was Solanas too moderate? How would you have killed Andy Warhol?
I’d have relentlessly mocked him for being gay until he did the job for me.

Why don’t you go to a feminist bookstore and get the fuck out of this thread eh??

The fuck do YOU know about feminism.

Don’t care what you think of her either. I’m Tired of males policing what feminism is, what feminists are good or bad or right or wrong. You’re not welcome here unless it’s to shut up and learn.

What's Lemmingwiser done wrong?
How much time do you have?

How is it not an own? They are feminists who supports troons and prostitution, and they welcome rapefugees by the boatload. How is that not an epic L for feminism, that so many feminists are directly supporting the exploitaition of women? That so many feminists completely abandoned ship, the moment some creepy wanker put on a dress?
its sad everyones attention span is so short these days they cant read last surface level on any subject and obsess over the same hot button issues that have been brought up a million times already

I think Stan is mostly fine and a positive addition to the community and should not log off, for the record.

Just dropping in to remind people that Stan has her own thread if you want to talk to/about her that badly. No need to derail this one just because she's in it.

few users receive this kind of praise from you
Few users get chased around from thread to thread so much by seething A&H mongoloids trying to drive them off the website for having opinions they don't like.

I think Andrea Dworkin's takes on sexual power dynamics between couples are a lot better fleshed out and more compelling and interesting than her takes on the sex and porn industry. What does everyone else think?

Me, AndroidRaptor and AmberHeardSupporter also suffer this fate.

Lemmingwiser doxed me about a full year after he’d been given my deets. He did it because he was mad I wasn’t agreeing with him about his Holocaust revisionist bullshit. When confronted about (what I consider) his betrayal he spun into a labyrinth of sexist copes. He belittled and cast doubt on my accounting, blamed me for “trusting the wrong man” (but not himself for being this wrong man) and then when I posted the logs, he said it was my fault for “bringing this out in him”. Basically he was willing to say anything to weasel himself out of being blamed for his own choices.

Now n=1 and whatever but I do not cotton much to men who blame me for their actions trying to explain feminism to me and directing me to feminist bookshops. He’s a hypocrite IMO and has the emotional self regulation of a 10 year old boy.
So yeah, that’s sort of off topic and I know the other girls don’t want me bringing personal drama in here. But Lemmingwiser pisses me off and I for one do not welcome him to this discussion.
you guys have a weird way of flirting

Touché, I guess. I am fairly clueless about feminism, thats true

I also like Stan.

As I said, I found her writing on pornography the most compelling. Perhaps because it was the first time I encountered criticism of porn. And I similarly didn't understand her writings about dynamics between couples because what she described was written in a different era, before marital rape was considered rape, for example.

But I didn't have that perspective when I read it.

She has been called the most misunderstood feminist from time to time and I wonder if there's something to that. Certainly I didn't quite understand her when I first read her. What do you think? Is it because she is so good at using words to give a shock to the system that it causes people to easily go into kneejerk defensive mode? Or something else?

I haven't read Dworkin (even though radfems seem to like her) so I don't know what her particular takes are, but I do have a guess as to why this might be.

If you're discussing the power dynamics present in/inherent to heterosexual couples, there's already a lot more room for nuance. Feminists are a smallish sector of the human population, and pure separatists are a minuscule percentage of feminists, which means that very few people would characterize women partnering with men as something with inherent harms. There's also a lot of psychology behind how healthy or unhealthy a relationship between any two particular people can be, and just like how a balanced partnership between a man and a woman is possible in theory, there are so many potential causes of imbalance that this is not often the case in practice.

With porn and the sex industry there's no room for nuance, really, because those are things that are always exploitative and always harmful to women.

I don't think men can ever really understand Dworkin, because we're not her audience and we're not supposed to be. She reminds me of VI Lenin's writings in a lot of ways, with her actual takes surrounded by a lot of big, impassioned, bombastic rants with hyperbole sprinkled into it, stuff that's geared to really speak to suppressed feelings from experiences that we don't have as men. I can respect the craft, and I can pick around that for the meatier ideas behind it, but for the most part I still feel like you have to be a woman (or a pre-war Russian factory worker) to really get either of them.

This is probably it, tbh. I find there's room for nuance in everything, and black and white takes are pretty uninteresting, even the ones I agree with.

The SCUM manifesto is unironically the greatest piece of literature ever made. It changed my life when I read it and brought me to this manhating thing that I’m on now. I love her and yes Warhol is a scumbag. Artsy fartsy fag. his contributions to art were abysmal. Lazy low effort New York underground pretentious bullshit by a man who could NOT draw. Ms Solanas I love you and youre an inspiration but I say to you this:

It’s ok Stan I still love you stay on their necks

Talk to Riley Dennis and Erin Reed etc. Talk to Joe Biden, a man who destroyed women's sport with an executive order.
what feminists are good or bad or right or wrong.
You refuse to tell us. We're fumbling in the dark because you won't say which Feminisms are good and which ones are bad, even though you seem to know how to make such a distinction.

We are welcome here, and all our posts are welcome in this thread. Maybe you should stop being a sexist bigot, demanding we leave.

Thank you!

If you’ve ever felt degraded by a man and how he loses respect for you after he’s fucked you, or watched porn and felt your stomach turn as the men get to enact their violent urges on the “actress”, or really sympathized with the plight of women who refuse to just shut up and make sandwiches (or bake cookies. In the case of HRC.) then you may enjoy reading Dworkin. She’s tough on the men, and her opinion of porn and the sex industry is a good tonic against the sex-positive, anything-goes choice feminism I grew up with.

The simple answer to this is that there is a political compass within feminism.

It’s extremely subjective to each person even in this thread as to who is considered trustworthy or not. It’s a lot like theology where there’s so many interpretations and different forms of thought that you just have to dig in and find something.

He knows, he's just doing that thing where he wants you to say "porn is bad" so he can say "but feminism says it's liberating, checkmate feminists" or "porn is liberating" so he can say "but feminism says it's bad, checkmate feminists". He's the anti-feminist equivalent of a fourteen year old reddit sperg who only just realised you can find contradictions in the Bible and thinks Christians will have their minds blown and renounce their faith when he points them out.
