I will admit one thing however, and I've seen a lot of people agree with this sentiment. In some way Slugfucker is the one thing that keeps /vp/ 'alive'. I don't know how many of you have frequented it recently, but it's nigh universally held that even by 4chan standards, /vp/ is shit. Really, REALLY shit. One of the worst boards on the site. The amount of things to talk about when it comes to Pokémon is surprisingly limited, since most matters like the anime, game mechanics, and game interactions is covered in its handful of general threads; and they've become not much other than hoardes of beggers looking for free Pokémon giveaways, the worst kinds of waifufags, and ceaseless amounts of incessant shitposters. Outside the generals is a whole different story. It's well known fact that whenever a new Pokémon game is about to come out, 4chan is a great place to find early leaks. This means that with the recent ORAS release, eager fans poured in from Reddit and associated sites in droves, bringing their cancer and newfaggotry with them. And the tragedy is that even once the game is out, they don't leave. And it shows. Outside the generals there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING besides one-line OP's, fedora threads, frog threads, bane threads, bait threads, and just other nonsensical or repetitive nonsense. No, I don't care how much you like Courtney or Gardevoir, we do NOT need a new thread of them every single day. And yes, I know that /tr/ and /vp/ were made as containment boards after /v/ was overrun with Pokémon threads, and it's thus a necessary evil, but at the same time it's just not worth having an entire board dedicated solely to something as surprisingly limited as Pokémon. Because right now it's just a mess. A trip around the catalog will show you just how stricken the place has become. All this leaves is Showderp and the Romhack projects, but don't worry about that, and Goodra threads. And believe me when I say I've seen many anons agree they're the most fun threads on the board. They're just havens of funposting, and purposefully pissing off their ruthlessly persistent OP. In a way I find that Slugfucker is the one thing that unites /vp/ as a whole, because everyone thinks he's the capital faggot. For anyone anywhere on 4chan to agree on something is a feat to behold. That's why all he's succeeded in doing is making himself a scapegoat, and united everybody against him. For that reason he gets my thanks, and his commitment is still worthy of commendation, since he seems to be the last unironic poster left on the board.
But seriously, the uses of /vp/ should be expanded to other mainstream localized anime and video games, such as Digimon or Yugioh or Dragonball. At least then there would be some fresh discussion.
Appologies for this longass and possibly sidetracked post, insomnia tends to drive me to write.
