Information from Hillary Clinton's unauthorized, private email server were found on the dark web, newly released documents from the FBI show.

It has long been suspected that Clinton's server, located in her home in Chappaquiddick, N.Y., might have been breached by hackers, but that has never been publicly confirmed.

But notes from a independent review, obtained by the FBI and released from "The Vault" on Friday, determined the Romanian hacker known as Guccifer breached a server for Clinton ally Sidney Blumenthal, who was passing information about Libya to the secretary of state, and Clinton's server was "indirectly" hacked likely as a result of the breach of Blumenthal's server. This information was transferred to a computer or network located south of Bucharest, Romania. The report said a second indirect hack of Clinton's server by people working on Guccifer's behalf took place on May 22, 2009, followed by other breaches.

The study found Guccifer used an anonymous server in Russia to carry out the "penetration" and there was a "high possibility" that Russian services monitored these servers and might have a copy.

One file taken from Clinton's server that was not seen on Blumenthal's server was found on the deep web, a hidden layer of the Internet not indexed by search engines, and the dark web, a shady constellation of darknets with layers of encryption favored by cybercriminals and hackers.

It is described as an Excel spreadsheet with "targeting data" that would receive the highest level of classification. "If it is determined by the by the FBI that this file ever was overtly classified, it will serve as a potential 'smoking gun document,'" the notes said.

"This file represents a major loss to the Intelligence Community because it appears to be targeting data," the notes said. This file was translated from Russian to Arabic, represented a list of targets "possibly" created by a Russian source, "located or intercepted by our services," and was sent to Clinton by an unknown individual, the notes said.

Guccifer was found to have penetrated "a number of targets" and 37,000 files were found on a computer traced to an IP address he obtained.

The study was conducted by a vendor hired by conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch due to concerns that Clinton's server had been hacked. The bureau obtained the report during an interview with the vendor, which is shown in the documents released Friday.

Guccifer, whose real name is Marcel Lazar, has been serving prison time for hacking chargessince 2014, both in the U.S. and in his native Romania.

It has been known that he successfully hacked Blumenthal, a breach that led to the first revelation of Clinton's use of the private clintonemail.com domain.

Guccifer was convicted on charges of hacking more than 100 prominent Americans, including former secretary of state Colin Powell and a sister to former President George W. Bush. He had claimed to hack Clinton during her term as secretary of state, though he was never charged with doing so.

An online persona known as Guccifer 2.0 claimed to be the hacker behind the breach of the Democratic National Committee computer network during the 2016 election. Guccifer 2.0 gave stolen emails from Democrats to WikiLeaks, which then published them. Special counsel Robert Mueller determined that Guccifer 2.0 was a front operated by Russia's Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff, or GRU.

Okay, I have no idea if this really belongs in A&H so apologies in advance, but I'm not sure where else I'd put it, and I seriously doubt that any media outlet apart from some fringe, Right-Wing lunatic's blog going to pay attention to this since they didn't seem to give much of an ass about the first 32, but there's some weird shit in here. Jordan Schachtel has touched on some of it, as well as Katica, so I'll summarize some of what they've gone over, but this is also a 428-page document so odds are that we're going to end up digging out more interesting pieces of this as time goes on.

The FBI concluded that Clinton was in violation of basic server security with her homebrew server. They also discuss the possibility that all of her e-mails could have been stolen by a foreign entity, and the review found that Clinton willfully stripped classification labels off of the highest level on documents that passed through her server. They also determined that more than a few of those e-mails and files found their way onto the Dark Web, and were translated into Russian and Arabic. That's pretty much a complete confirmation that at some point her server had been compromised and the information was moved out of the server and into an unsecured sphere.

The documentation goes back even further from the 2016 election though, and starts digging into Libya, and then Sidney Blumenthal's name starts cropping up.

Apparently, Blumenthal was attempting to leverage Clinton during her time as the S.o.S. into releasing intelligence files that would allow them to trace the $30,000,000,000 that was seized when Qaddafi was taken down. That's the first I've heard of anything like that, and I'm not quite sure what to make of it, so that's worth keeping an eye on. Hillary Clinton was one of the primary instigators for the overthrow of Qaddafi, so I'd be very curious to know where that money wound up going.

The FBI also apparently didn't buy into Skeletor's mysteriously benevolent motives, and directly accused his intelligence group of manufacturing bogus intel in order to try and score a contract with the State Department.

Also as Schachtel was saying, the FBI says that this redacted name belonged to a person who "Has a controversial history with the U.S. intelligence community", and was working with Blumenthal and a team of former I.C. operatives in an attempt to "cash in" on these assets from Libya. He opines that the redacted name would have to be Cody Shearer, since he's the person who most likely fits that bill, and I'd have to agree. It's entirely possible that we're wrong and it has nothing at all to do with Shearer, but his name has popped up so fucking often in this regard that I'd honestly be more surprised if it wasn't him.

Moreover, it indicates that Blumenthal and Shearer were looking to cash in on Libya by selling HRC some shoddy "intel." Sounds like an awfully familiar M.O. to the Trump-Russia dossier, if you ask me.

Now see, this is the kind of shit that makes my eyebrows go cross-eyed. Hillary’s lawyer emailed the Justice Department in April of 2016, shortly before Hillary became the Democratic nominee for President, and told the DOJ that they do not have consent to double-check the data from the two Lenovo hard drives before destruction. Apparently Clinton's lawyers are allowed to tell the Department of Justice what they can and cannot search for evidence, and can claim attorney-client privilege. The State Department had even banned Lenovo's brand from use due to the potential risk of the Chinese hacking them, but apparently that wasn't a problem, either.

I just don't know what the Hell to make of half of this; the document reads like some kind of anti-Hillary fan-fiction writer's wet dream but it's fucking real. What's the point of even having the FBI if you let them gather up all of this information and then do absolutely nothing with it? Comey's FBI was a fucking train wreck and I could not be happier that he's going to be facing some incredibly difficult questions in the near future.

I'm gonna' keep rummaging through this over time, but I thought a few people here might find this interesting to leaf through themselves. The more we learn about how this country was being run the more amazed I am that we didn't just implode a decade ago.

We really should flush the politicians down the toilet and start fresh. It really doesn't surprise me that there's corruption and incompetence in our government, but whataboutism, racism and classism thrive with our political system.

This is what intrigues me the most. How much power has Hillary amassed where her lawyers can straight up tell the DOJ to fuck off?
 
This is going to be such red meat to conservative pundits like Sean Hannity on Monday.

But as for me, well, this has been dragged out how long now? I just can’t seem to find it in myself to make a big deal out of it.

I’m sure it is a problem. I know other people have gone to jail for worse. But, for so many years, I’ve seen these career politicians get off again and again. I’m used to it.

Granted, things have changed in recent years. Paul Manafort getting 4 years of solitary confinement to Rikers Island is unprecedented for people from the upper class. However, for a guy his age, and for the crime he committed, I just don’t see how the scales are balanced.

I just want equal justice for everybody under the law.

The FBI could literally find emails where she sent Vladimir Putin recipes for babymeat soufflé and the nuclear launch codes, the media and obama appointees would exert a herculean effort to find a way to spin it off.

Bah to the idea that it was the GRU. I need a lot more than Mueller's word for it.

Mueller or Congress could clear up who handed Wikileaks the emails by simply asking either Assange himself or Craig Murray to do public testimony. Why haven't they done it? There's certainly no excuse for the latter to have not been called.
